Have you ever bought or sold a game on Craigslist or do the (sometimes) scary people on there keep you away?

If you've ever bought or sold a game on CL have you ever had the buyer or seller flake out on you?

Great question. I'm considering doing this, but don't want to get stuffed into a car trunk and driven off a cliff. Any suggestions?

Yes. Haven't met anybody too scary but more deadbeats than anything else.

I sold a truck in 3 hrs on craigslist. The guy that bought it scared me though. He scared me a lot.

Yea, I bought a couple of things off of craigslist. A guy modded my psp and I bought some ps3 games off of there before. The biggest thing I ever bought was a car. It was a 95 crown vic. 100% tint on the windows, amp and cable set up in the back all I had to do was add the speakers and the sub. I got it for 3000. That was a good transaction. The car lasted about 4 years.

I've bought and sold a few times. Most of my transactions have been smooth, but I've been flaked a time or two.

Some of the respondents to my ads are also trailer-trash-esque.

My advice would be to meet in a very crowded place. I meet all my buyers at a crowded gas station at a busy intersection.

You mean "casual encounters" right?

When my wife sells stuff on CL, we have them come up to our storage building. It's a cinder-block building in a run-down neighborhood. The windows are covered by 1/4-inch steel plate.
Some people are really trusting. Not that I WOULD snatch someone up, but I'd imagine some of these women picking up old furniture should be more careful about going into something like that with a guy who is 6' tall and 200lbs with a bald fade. I'm a soldier, but I could easily be some kind of undesirable intent on doing bad things to them.
My wife doesn't go do any of that stuff without me.

No, usually I'm the scary person that people don't want to meet in dark places. I don't deal with Craigslist much anymore since everyone is a flake where I live.

There was this one time I was picking up a DS lite with a broken top screen for like $5 that I ended up fixing and the women was telling me what time she'd be home. I was like "You'll be home all by yourself?" Not even thinking how creepy it sounded. The deal was a little awkward.

I think flaking is a universal problem. It's pretty much par for the course on a free garage sale website with very minimal oversight.

Have not sold any video games on Craigslist but I have sold other items with no major problems. You have the usual people who set up a time to come pay and pickup who never show and people who try to low ball or after agreeing on a price stop communicating with you.

Have not had any problems with the people who do show up to purchase the items though.
