Sleeping Dogs for me was the perfect mix of side missions and actual story, normally I get bored with open world games before even finishing the story cause it doesnt ever seem focused at all. I never finished GTA or Red Dead. Also the mix of gunplay and hand to hand combat gave the missions variety.

Voice of god says:
I'm pissed off at Sleeping Dogs right now. I lost about 5 hours of gameplay because it reverted to an earlier save, either because the interface wasn't clear and I screwed up or because the game is an idiot. Either way, the autosave file was no help even though I immediately noticed the problem.

I'll get back to it later, but I don't want to replay the same parts of the game so soon.

I had it happen too, and grrrr it makes me put the game down for a short while.

So I really want that HUD-less patch to come to the console versions of Far Cry.

Marvelous says:
Hud-less... are you just talking about the little mini map?

yep, it's awesome, rented it. Huge game, will eventually have to buy it. Makes far cry 2 look like demon's souls.

Do you need to play Far Cry 1 & 2 in order to get into this game?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 9:00:40 AM PST
It makes Far Cry 2 look like a great yet difficult game?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 9:01:17 AM PST
No, in fact you probably shouldn't play 1 & 2. Story has nothing to do with those games.

Marvelous says:
I could of sworn I seen an option to turn those all off in the menu, are you on the 360?

Cause according to Donnie, the PS3 version is riddled with gltiches.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 9:04:30 AM PST
PS3, it's it riddled with glitches than my bad luck of running into every horrible game breaking glitch on a game is officially over as the game has run perfectly since I've started.

That is unless you count getting eaten by a tiger a glitch, that's happened a lot.

Cool. This game has gotten alot of praise. Im sure i'll pick this up eventually

Marvelous says:
i came across that same gltich on the 360, I even had a shotgun equipped, and panic when he ran up... it's those damn komodo dragons though man.

Ice King says:
Speaking of tigers, is it possible to take one down with just one arrow? Even when I hit them in the head it always seems to take three.

MrFoxhound says:
I'm not sure, but that tiger that I lured into the town disappeared before I could skin it. Even though the enemies were still lying there, and I was able to loot the tiger's kills, but no tiger to skin. I was upset by that.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 10:12:56 AM PST
It's also those damn crocs. That might be the most terrifying thing ever in a game.

Oh look at that pretty river in the dusk light, let me just cross over it to get some flowers and craft a OHFRAKITSEATINGME

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 28, 2012 10:13:40 AM PST
I'll have to test that tonight. I know it only takes a single RPG if that helps.

Ice King says:
I was terrified to swim for a while because of crocodiles. Unlike sharks, they seem to lurk in the middle or even bottom of the water and you can't always tag them with your camera so I was getting attacked so many times.
Although sharks do tend to gather in large groups. I think I had to kill about 10 one time just to be able to get in the water and skin the first one I killed.
Or maybe I just kept shooting the same one over and over but not killing it.

I still get attacked now but I seem to have a much easier time killing them when it happens.
