Because the 360 seems like the system that was BUILT for those games. Playstation seem more built for RPG's; thus it feels more "natural" to me.

That still has nothing to do with the controller nor what makes it SEEM like that. Please elaborate.

Hard to argue that ps3 is built for rpgs. Skyrim..............

That doesn't make any sense.

RPGs play as well on the 360 as any other console I've played RPGs on.

Huh?

Idk, I think it's because Playstation was around longer, and had a wealth of RPG's for PS1 and PS2.

DVvM says:
But the number of RPGs for the PS1 and PS2 have no bearing on the number of RPGs on the Xbox 360.

Plus, I mean, if you want to play PS1 and PS2 RPGs you don't need a PS3 or an Xbox 360.

I was talking about why the PS controller feels more natural to me for RPG's than the 360 controller.

But of all the genres, I would say that the one that depends least on the quality of the control device, I would say that it's specifically the kind of RPGs that you found on the PS1 and PS2.

The RPGs that actually require decent controls are the kind of WRPGs that you didn't get on consoles until the original Xbox (Morrowind, Jade Empire, etc.)

Heh. Imagine how PC gamers feel.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 10, 2012 1:05:19 PM PST
Man, if only we could get a TES game with good controls.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 10, 2012 1:08:16 PM PST
This is reasonable. A preference is personal. Saying it FEELS like the PS3 was made for a specific genre is okay. At least you aren't saying it has superior RPGs because of the controller. That would be silly.

I remember reading about a one-handed RPG controller released in Japan. It would allow the RPG gamer to draw maps, snack, and probably other unsavory things. Part of me wants to design one that can be dual-wielded, allowing the gamer to play two RPGs simultaneously.

I just need a name for the project, Nate. How does POWER GLOVE sound?

I thought Morrowind and Oblivion controller pretty well (if a bit floaty). Is Skyrim not better?

System Shock 2 utterly brilliant. Of course, coming from me, I'm pretty sure you weren't expecting me to say anything else.

Shadow of the Colossus is also amazing. It's a masterpiece work of art, nothing else like it, really.

I need to clarify. They control just fine. It is the combat that I dislike. The combat controls feel clunky. For everything else I disliked about what I saw of KoA, the combat was awesome.

Yeah, I wish GoG would get SS2.

SotC is one I plan on getting to now that I can buy it for the PS3.

System Shock 2 isn't that hard to find, but it will set you back around 40 dollars minimum. For me, it was absolutely worth it. I thought it was too cheap!

Actually, getting it to run for me was a pain in the ass. System Shock is even harder.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 10, 2012 6:09:57 PM PST
Not having a guaranteed way to run it is the reason I am not willing to shell out for a copy.
