The durability of the console, the controller and of course the games....boy were the games great. Say what you will about graphics, open world enviroments and online multiplayer, nothing beats games like Castlevania, the Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Metroid, and the list goes on. I didn't even mind the cartridges and having to blow in them when they weren't working properly...good times. Forget about the Move and Kinect, we had the Power Pad, The Power Glove and of course the Light Gun.

Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it youngins'

My favorite all time console, followed closely by the Super NES.

What's crazy is that I've owned every system that's ever came out including Fairchild and Odyssey, but never owned an NES. When it came out, I was more into the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga and skipped it. Then came Genesis and SNES. I've played a ton of NES games, but never owned it.

I'd agree that it's the SNES. A Link to the Past and Super Mario World alone are still two of the best games ever made. Not taking away from the NES though. NES > PS3 & 360.

Punk/Guest don't get me wrong, I loved my SNES, but no system will ever come between me and my NES. If it was legal I would marry it and have a bunch of gits. I would even take it's last name, Michael John System.

Although my personal #1 would be the SNES, the NES was, to me as a gamer, the most important console I've ever owned, and the list of awesome games for it was indeed vast and varied. So many great memories associated with the NES. Aside from the classics that are normally mentioned, there are unsung gems such as Renegade, Wizards & Warriors, Trojan, Bases Loaded, Ice Hockey, Life Force, Ice Climber, Bubble Bobble, RC Pro Am, Dragon Warrior (my first RPG!), Stinger, and so many others.

My brother you're making my mouth water, those were all great titles. Did you know that Ikari Warriors is on the PS3 under the minis section? I found it a couple of days ago while I was browsing the store. I'm afraid to play it, I think it may tarnish the memories I have of it.
