So I guess that Stick of Truth is just in limbo somewhere at the moment.

Many stores still have the date listed as March 5th(if they're still up, if you want an example of one that appears to have taken it down, just mosey on over to GMG) but nobody seems to have any info at all.

This is one of the things I was concerned with when THQ imploded.

I'm sure it will come out eventually, be positive.

The company that bought the Metro Franchise bought it right? the ones that own Deep Silver?

Amazon still has listed for March 5th. I think when I looked a week or two ago, Gamestop.com had it listed as coming out December 31st 2013.

Ubi purchased it, which makes me nervous that it will come with Uplay in addition to Steam. I hate it when companies add additional DRM to a system that is, in its own nature, DRM. The last I heard was South Park Studios was trying to legally reclaim the game from Ubi so it might be pushed back to some undisclosed date.

Yeah, UBI soft bought it. That and THQ Montreal dev. offices.

Koch Media (Deep Silver owners) bought Volition, Saint's Row and Metro Last Light from THQ
Sega picked up Relic and Company of Heroes 2
Crytek nabbed Homefront 2, hopefully for the better
Take Two took Evolve

This and Metro will likely be pushed to Fall 2013 since they switched publishers.

I'm hoping that the South Park creators are fighting like hell to get this game out the door, and fighting against a delay.

Got a reply overnight to the ticket that I put in for some info. Below is what I received.

Dorothy, Feb 14 10:44 (GMT):
Hi,

Thank you for your ticket. The game has been removed from the store due to the situation with THQ. We will still be delivering this title to the customers that have bought it, but unfortunately are unable to give you a new release date as we have not been given this information yet.

If any stance on the game were to change where we were not able to deliver your game, we would refund your purchase in full and notify you by email.

Sorry I am not able to provide any more information.

Regards,
Dorothy

No way. Matt Stone and Trey Parker won't let that happen. They were trying to get final approval before the sale of their IP anyway.

I just want this to come out before the fall. Too many games will be out by then and I wont give this game the attention it deserves.

I wouldn't worry too much about the status of Stick of Truth. Only copying the relevant part.

"RPS: The recent industry "transition" has taken a ridiculous toll. It feels like it's been layoffs every other week - which is weird, since it's basically been every week. It's been hard to watch, to say the least. Obviously, you guys temporarily lost a publisher, but are you chaffing elsewhere? After all, your biggest project [South Park] is slated to come out sometime this year. What happens after that? Are you worried about securing more work?

Feargus Urquhart: If you asked me that question eight weeks ago, I would have said yes. Luckily we signed another contract in December. I can't go into any details about it, but it's a game that will employ at least the same number of people that are working on South Park right now. And of course, our hope is that there will be more South Park work. It would be awesome to keep on working with Matt and Trey and the group."

I broke down and purchased Alpha Protocol last night because I wanted to play an Obsidian rpg that wasn't FO:NV. Didn't get too far, but loving it so far. I hate the gunplay, but honestly I'm not even too worried about that as I can just melee most everyone that gets on my nerves. First playthrough that I've ever done for this so it does kinda count as a new Obsidian game for me.

McAwesomeo says:
Alpha Protocol's guns are highly stat based rather than skill based. After you level up a bit and put points into them they're much easier. Even pistols become ridiculously overpowered.

Ok, I had just about retired this game cus I hated the gunplay. NOw that I hear this, I may have to give it another shot someday. I do like the dialogue in the game. The movement is just too awkward for a stealth game though.

Seeing as I had just started and gotten past the tutorial, I haven't done anything to require a restart YET. I'll have to put some points into the skills, but it stinks because I could otherwise just invest the points elsewhere that pays off immediately. However, from what I've read about the way boss fights worked, having a long-range weapon could be a good thing.

Please, I've avoided what I can of the story and it looks to be interesting so don't post anything about how it turns out.
