PlayStation PocketStation

Only game in the US that supported it was Final Fantasy VIII and you needed it to get the Gold Chocobo.

Jeebus, those are so much cheaper on eBay. Still more expensive than I can justify, but still.

I just remember reading about it in the Final Fantasy VIII manual and wondering why I never saw the Playstation VMU in any stores lol.

Man, I looked for a PocketStation everywhere for years. I looked for it in the U.S. I looked for it in Singapore. I looked for it in Australia. To this day, I've still never seen one in person.

Like a Pocketstation? =D Huh? Like the one I posted? Yup just like the one I posted.

I believe it was only ever released in Japan and was scrapped before it saw release anywhere else. The only American market game to mention it is Final Fantasy VIII but in Japan a number of Playstation games supported it and it was competing head to head with Dreamcast's VMU so both companies were pushing to get mini games on these things.

These days you're gonna be hard pressed to find one I'd imagine given how much time has gone by and all.

oh, I know what you are talking about! I forgot what it was called. Let me research it for a second.

[EDIT] Aha, you found it. I knew it had to be something like Life or internet.

I really wanted one of those. I guess it was the Dreamcast fan in me wanting something like the Sonic Chao experience on the PSX.

Saw the PSPGo being sold at a local game store for only $99. See, now THAT would have been a reasonable release price.

They probably got it from some rich fat kid trading it in for some credit; they probably got it for like 30 bucks.

They had a whole stack of 'em. I'm assuming everyone traded them in when the Vita came out.

Or to rebuy the PSP.

I knew so many people who traded in their PSP to get a Go; then traded in their Go to get their PSP back. Lol
