Yes. The sound fx are awesome. Maybe the best thing about Star Wars, or one of the best.

I will stop....But one last thing: The Bombing of Cambodia helped to the Khmer Rouge. It is partially our fault. We destabilized the country.

Okay....DONE!

They were. But, I just cannot figure out the plan. It all seemed so cool when Luke told Jabba that he was going to die, and he was all non-chalant and flippant. Then he motioned for Artoo and everyone to get into position....But how the eff could that have been the plan? Get caught and put into the Sarlacc Pit?

Maybe now I am the over-analyzer....

I think it is illegal to not like Star Wars. I have even forced my wife to acknowledge they are decent.

My kids....Love them. Well, I have yet to allow them to see Empire and Sith.

Fair enough.

No worries. BTW, I have no issues about your political stance. Just debating. I don't DV or criticize the person, just the idea. I like that you disagree....I enjoy the banter.

Too bad we are not WoW players, well I'm not.

Then we could really annoy the rest of the gang.

I apologize... It's been a while since I last watched the movies.

I forgive you. This time.

Do not let it happen again.

I had the original triology on VHS. I bought it in 1995. It was in a black cardboard box set thing.

I should not have sold it.

I have the same set. I did not sell it. Nor will I ever.

I am fine with the SE. Never bothered me and I was born in 76, so I grew up on the stuff. But the changes never bothered me.

That my friend is not return of the Jedi. The movie i know had no Jar Jar Binks or Hayden Christensen in it.

Spike does not play the not ruined version. The only version i will watch.

It is Jedi. The Hayden thing is fine. People are getting hung up on minor changes that do not hurt the movie.

Hayden shows up in the Jedi that Spike airs.

Which was not in theaters in 1983 or 1985, during both theatrical showings of the real movie thanks for proving my point. By the way Hayden was 2 years old when it came out in 83. He does not belong in a movie that premiered when he was 2.

GL was nuts for putting him in it.

At least Paramount is smart enough not to paste the new kirk via CGI over the old one. When it comes to star trek.

I could have been worse i suppose Lucas could have superimposed Hayden head over mark hamill's or redubbed his lines.

So what you are saying is that Spike airs the ruined version, and the non-ruined version is the only one you will watch. Your wording in that post does not read that way at all.

I am confused. What does his birthday have to do with a fictional universe? the point of the change was continuity....It was the last time Anakin was good. This is a really odd thing to get hung up on, and the reasoning is highly unsound.

Not for me i say leave movies as they were or at least allow consumers the choice of versions. If you change a almost 30 year old movie every few years.

Movies should reflect the time in which they were made. A point that Spielberg now supports.

Besides the fact as a year plus year old that is not my star wars trilogy my star wars trilogy is from 1977-1983, that is my generations saga. The prequels are not a part of that. Nor are any redoes.

It would not be a problem had he made the movies shortly after Jedi not changed the story in the interim, or made the prequels first. But he did not even start writing them til late 1994. And only had a very short outline which only made it partly into revenge of the sith. The first 2 films had no prior basis whatsoever.

In that outline Vader and Luke's father were 2 separate people and there were no midi-clorians, the emperor was a politician and not a sith lord. Those points had to be retconned into the prequels or they would not match the originals.

Okay. Lucas doesn't. Neither does Ridley Scott or James Cameron. To each his own. I have no issues with the changes, my kids and I enjoy the movies.

I don't really understand the issue with Hayden being added to Jedi. Sebastian Shaw was in the movie for two whole scenes: when he talked to Luke at the end, and when he's standing with Obi-Wan and Yoda at the end. It's not like Hayden being added in took over the role from someone who was a huge part of the original trilogy.

M. Gaudet says:
I think the first versions should be made available. The 1977-1983 trilogy
With the non a new hope star wars, the 1981 a new hope star wars opening scene seamless branched.

Also include the 1997 theatrical special edition. The 2004 dvd video edit but with fixed sound and corrected glitches and colors.

So far all we have is the blu ray version and i am sure that won't be the last.

Make them all available in 1080P. Don't even need to do a major restoration or clean up, except with the originals that is probably why they are not available.

Because A. it does not make any sense what so ever and B. it is a slap in the face to the actor who originally had that role.
