It wasn't too bad in short stretches, which is why the fast travel was nice - you couldn't always go straight to your destination. Just get as close as possible and sail the rest of the way. Really, the ocean was so gorgeous that I didn't mind it most the time. I think there was a way to let it go on "auto-pilot" too. I busied myself with other things while it was on auto-pilot sometimes.

So with all this Zelda love (and hate) going around has anyone else checked out these Zelda playing cards?

I didn't like Majora's Mask, but I loved TP...you might like Skyward Sword. I thought it was a great Zelda game.

It's not really that I didn't like TP, I just never got into it. I was thinking about snagging it for the $20 price point, but then again, I think I might just want to get SS. Is there a way to turn off the motion controls in TP? Play it more like the Gamecube version?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 17, 2012 8:05:39 AM PDT
Yeah, get the gamecube version.

Thank you Aku, I'm a bit slow this morning, need some coffee...

Gamecube version is $10 more expensive used than the Wii version is new.

BUT I DON'T LIKE THAT GAME HE PUT ON THERE. Why can't he listen to me and make it go away?!?! I know, I'll just throw a hissyfit until I get my way, instead of just playing the game normally!

Neither side was looking too hot.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 17, 2012 8:13:24 AM PDT
But is not having motion control worth $10 to you?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 17, 2012 8:13:40 AM PDT
Steve Xander says:
Just curious Garion. Why don't you like SS?

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 17, 2012 8:14:20 AM PDT
MrFoxhound says:
No. I'll just avoid it all together.

Got a problem with the waggle? Wii version was great.

The controls, while impressive, are just irritating.

I can definitely understand that.

GarionOrb says:
I didn't like motion control for the sake of motion control. The swordfighting was pretty cool, but there was a lot of waggle in there that I felt was unnecessary. I hated Fi with a hot burning passion. And finally, it had zero variety when it came to environments...instead just having you visit the same places over and over. Oh, and the crafting and upgrading was completely useless. I wrote a lengthy review on Amazon on it.

And one thing that totally irked me about it was that it was so overwhelmingly praised, yet there was so much it did wrong. It was almost, but not quite, as bad as GTA4's reviews.

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 17, 2012 8:18:32 AM PDT
My problem isn't so much that it has motion control but that I was waiting for so long for Twilight Princess to come out only to be told "Nope, wait longer because we want to release it for the wii"

Ocarina of Time created the modern Zelda formula, and it was awesome. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess perfected it...especially Twilight Princess though. That game was a masterpiece. Skyward Sword took a huge step back as far as content and exploration.

Kirksplosion says:
Ah, yeah. That's a legitimate complaint.

I don't understand why OOT gets so much praise and TP doesn't. TP is everything OOT of was and more.

GarionOrb says:
Because it happened first, and it worked so well. Not to mention that as a game, it's still really awesome.

Edit: And from what I hear, TP still gets plenty of praise.
