I can't believe it took three years for this game to pop onto my radar. I'm at the beginning of Chapter 3 and I can not believe how amazing and brilliant this game is. Has anyone else played it? Am I alone is thinking this is one of the best games of the current generation?

Stride hates it. I've got it in my backlog, but haven't started.

...does that mean I have to enjoy the Resident Evil films now?

Yes, but you can enjoy them ironically if you like.

I think I'd rather ironically enjoy suicide than ever have to watch those again.

I've heard the battle system is really cool. Is the story any good?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 5, 2013 2:45:31 PM PST
The battle system is fantastic. It's a mix of real-time and "tactic-style" gameplay that's really hard to describe without seeing it in action. The story seems pretty cool so far but it's revealing itself slowly. I like it like that though. The main characters are great, seeming like actual people instead of "generic JRPG character #12," despite them looking like said generic characters, heh. I'd really recommend picking it up and giving it a shot.

I enjoyed it. I especially love when they start ramping up the levels of the optional bosses on the world map to ridiculous levels, and force you to think and plan before taking action.

I just found that stuff for the first time before the Wood Nymph stuff. I was not ready for that whatsoever. I lost a lot of money restarting BUT I GOT THAT GIANT GUY THING.

RoF is pretty good. However, I lost interest in it after chapter 8.

And he loves FFXIII, so his taste is questionable. I need to start playing this game again. I think I will after I beat Xenoblade. I don't even remember where I left off, so I might be better starting over.

Yeah I thought it was needlessly complicated. I didn't enjoy it.

Starts strong and gets super repetitive IMO. Different strokes for different folks.

Resonance of Fate redeemed tri-Ace after the trainwrecks that were Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean IV.

Brilliant game. Great art direction, unique and fun combat system, etc.

I thought the same about this game the first couple of chapters. When you get double guns and start destroying everything it gets incredibly hard to go back. I gave up at chapter 13 the story and side quests were way too strange and the fights got so hard that grinding didn't help much.

I love the game, but haven't finished it as for some odd reason I only feel compelled to play the game on weekends as the sun comes up, and I've had to work every weekend for the past several months (I'm supposed to get time off, but they always decide Thursday or Friday that I need to come in).

Hey, I like IU. I may be the only one, but I feel it has some magic to it. That and Last Remnant are my two favorite 'underappreciated' RPGs on the 360.

Still have RoF in my backlog, need to get around to it.
