I just turned on my Xbox 360 slim and it started as usual, but then a screen came up and said "system error" and to contact Microsoft. The light that's normally green turned red. On the bottom, it said "E 68," which I'm assuming was an error code. I turned it back off, then back on, and it worked.

Anyone know what just happened?

I would assume, and contribute with my 2 cents that a system error happened

Just be sure to save all of your saves and downloaded games onto a usb device in case it happens again.

E68: Hard Drive Error... It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it, This can also be caused by a Hard Drive Eprom Error. Some also believe this might be caused by a problem with the fans.

Should he play Cops and Robbers with it, or there a better game to resolve that error.

I searched E68 on microsoft.com and all it brought up were pictures of some army guy pointing and laughing at me.

I literally turned it right back on after it happened and it worked fine. I don't get it.

Could just have been a poor connection, so I would reseat your HD. Also, like previously mentioned, backup can save you some headaches.

I have this 4" fan that's pretty powerful. I'm gonna leave it by the fan/HD area. Would anyone suggest against leaving the HD expansion area cover thingy off? I figure that if I leave it open and let the fan blow near it, it should be an issue.

Halo Holli's to ashamed to actually post so he's just decided to necrobump all the old threads again, pathetic but typical Holli tactics.

Why do you bother responding to them then?

More or less to pressure Holli to finally answer a challenge that was somewhat started between us, he always runs away but when I see he's here I repeat the challenge to see if he'll finally admit the truth or keep running.

So far he's kept running.

I would like to point out that I still own this Xbox and it's still working just fine. Not sure why it keeps getting bumped.
