Ys: Orgin - (mainly - Is there any loot?)

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten

King's Bounty: Warriors of the North

What - if any - experience do you guys have with these?

I watched a pretty lengthy preview of Misamata on IGN, looked pretty cool.

I really enjoyed Y's Origin, especially as Hugo. He was written as such an arrogant bastard. There is loot but by no means is this game a loot fest like Torchlight. Y's: Origin is an action RPG and different characters have different play styles (Hugo is more of a run-and-gunner.) You do level up, purchase abilities and upgrades and get into some fun boss fights. There is only one location in the game but there are different environments and the story is well written.

I saw a few reviews that had the juicy word "Metroidvania" I always love seeing...I also like that there are replayable and unlockable characters.

In a sense. Sometimes you need to backtrack or need a certain item to move on but I never thought of Metroid while playing it.
