The top four games on the sales charts all cleared over 100,000 units sold (the top two games sold over 200,000 units.) After that the sales numbers are actually on the low side. EX Troopers (Lost Planet 3) bombed hard with 16,000 units sold on 3DS and 11,000 sold on PS3. Bravely Default: Flying Fairy still hanging in there which is the Strongest Square-Enix game in recent memory. On the hardware side the 3DS is less than two million sales away from overtaking the PS3's lifetime sales to date in Japan.

Same old song and dance. The 3DS is a monster. The PSP continues to live while the ps3 is strong. The Wii is dead and the Vita is something else all together. :)

Vita sales will probably stay in the 10k-15k range for the next few weeks. Japan's holiday shopping season isn't as large as America's but it's there. As far as I know, there aren't any major "system seller" releases for the Vita in Japan until next year but Sony may try some bundles. In fact, they just did a bundle with a black Vita and the Japanese version of Hot Shots Golf.

Persona 4 do much to help sales? I would think that is a Japanese driven type game. :)

On a side note, Bravely Default has me wanting a 3DS XL, assuming it gets a NA release. The game looks very cool.

Holiday season took the Vita weekly sales from about 4-5k to about 9-10k? Well, it's progress.

I think Persona 4 bumped Vita sales to 30,000+ for one week and then it dropped again. I think the game sold about 225,000-250 copies on Vita sold far which is nice but Black Ops II just sold almost 200,000 copies on PS3 in under a week.

On the other hand there are far less Vita players than PS3 players so you could say about 25% of Japanese Vita owners got Persona 4.

McAwesomeo says:
I believe it did help sales, but these are the numbers for Japan and it came out in June over there. I'd love to see November's numbers for the US.

Apparently Japan didn't get the memo about Dishonored.

It really does seem that Sony's Japanese strategy is to wait and see what Soul Sacrifice, God Eater 2 and Phantasy Star Online 2 do for the Vita. That worries me a little because God Eater 2 will also be on PSP. Phantasy Star Online 2 is an MMO, I have no idea how the Japanese will take to an MMO on a handheld.

I hope they put Hot Shots on PS3 over here too.

Have you played the Vita version? I really liked it.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 28, 2012 10:42:18 AM PST
Just a demo of it, but I've played every console Hot Shots game to 100%, love the series.

Wow I didn't realize it was released that long ago. MY igornance showed on that one. I never did play Persona, I am tempted to try it out some day. I have to play Mass Effect first though.

For a game/series with such cutesy graphics some of those courses are really freaking hard!

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 28, 2012 10:49:01 AM PST
Yeah, the later courses and the last few character matches are always brutal. The friggin grannie in Four (I think it was Four) was ridiculous, she never missed. Ever.

LOL, my mistake. Sorry about that. I don't need the bundle, I already have a U. I just need some 1080p Monster Hunter. :)
