MrFoxhound says:
They pushed it to 12/22/12 in case the world ends on 12/21/12 then they don't have to release it.

The Drizzle says:
i am extremely gullible. is that true? the 12/22 part, not the end of the world part. we all know its ending anyway.

No word. More than likely it will be delayed to next year just like in Europe. Honeslty, I dont even know if Japan got it.

I believe Nintendo TVii was delayed to 2013 for North America and Europe.

bummer!

Meh, I'm indifferent. The fact that Nintendo refuses to include an ethernet port to the Wii U means you get substandard streaming over WiFi anyway. It won't be as functional as my PS3's wired connection.

I predict we'll see it in Summer 2013.

No, it's not. I have business-class internet at home, routinely getting 21-25 mb download speeds. On PS3 and 360, it takes no effort to get a full HD stream.

Really? I have tried streaming wired and wireless, I can't tell a difference. I hear quite often wired is so much faster, but for me that doesn't appear to be the case. I can wirelessly stream HD via Vudu with no problems. :)

Hmm, I stream fine over my PS3 and my WiiU. A little bit better over the WiiU because of wireless N.

I think the Wii U has a gimped system when it comes to connectivity. Even on WiFi, it shouldn't take so long to download updates, games, etc. A game update for Ninja Gaiden 3 took me 90 minutes to download last night. That's just inexcusable.

I would assume the issue isn't the hardware but the Nintendo's servers. Just a guess though. :)

At launch my U downloaded very slowly, I can't say that is a problem anymore. I downloaded Trine 2 this weekend, which was 1.9 gb, it took less than 30 minutes. I dare say my U downloads faster than my ps3 at the moment. Though the 360 is still king. :)

The wii u knows you touch yourself.

I stopped a month ago and that update took me 10 minutes.

Could be the Wii U isn't playing nice with your router?

My wii u times are bad at all.. first update on Sunday only took 45 minutes, second update around 20 when it was first introduced. And a 17 gb game took more then hour, but less then 4. (I was away)

The Wii U has N-spec wifi though right? Shouldn't be _that_ bad, but still, yeah, a wired connection would be better.

this is what i found on gameinformer.com

Nintendo has announced that the Wii U's TVii functionality is finally about to go live.

The feature - which lets you view augmenting TV content on your GamePad and use it as a remote (with certain cable/content providers) - launches in North America tomorrow, December 20.

Unfortunately, TVii's integration with Netflix and TiVo won't occur until sometime in early 2013.
