I sign into Yahoo to check my email...once logged in a message pops up with the words "Breaking News" flashing across the top...and the body reads "Duchess of Cambridge expecting a baby"...like seriously, with all the issues we face in this country this is what constitutes as breaking news...and to make matters even worse, it has nothing to do with our country or even anyone who lives here!

Technically, if British ex-pats live here then I presume they'd be interested in this. But, you're right. This story will be this week's "grapefruit"...designed to keep all of our attention OFF the things that are really having an affect on us in the United States.

That this even matters at all...is very sad.

The media in this country love to hype things that will divert attention away from the train wreck that is the current congress and the president.

FOGE says:
3rd most read article on Fox News is "Stars who lost their Mojo.
4th most read article on Fox News is "Princess Kate expecting first child, in hospital for pregnancy related condition"

"Pregnancy related condition" yeah... I think we got that one.

Why are you on Fox news? There aren't any respectable news agencies that you use?

"Pregnancy related condition"

Ladies and gentlemen: American Journalism.

Regardless of what else is happening in the country...this crap belongs in the National Enquirer...not as "Breaking News" on Yahoo.

GarionOrb says:
The Syrian government is murdering its own citizens with chemical weapons, and "The Royal Pregnancy" and Kate Middleton's excessive morning sickness is breaking news. Priorities, I suppose! /sarcasm

The BBC is down?

Yahoo is actually one step below the National Enquirer...or your average high school newspaper for that matter. So, I'd argue that this story is right at home on Yahoo.

FOGE says:
They arent using chemical weapons, but they have killed about 20,000 people during the Civil War.

Unfortunately, most new channels are also covering this story...

EDIT: Didn't watch it, just kept seeing the commercials for it...

I guess it's news if she just got knocked up with a future king.

Effin kings, man - who needs em? Not modern society, that's for sure.

Which will most likely be shown off in Playboy when she does get them...considering she'll probably be dumped by then and need some money coming in.

and if I actually go to the BBC's website, there isn't even mention of this on the front page.
