OT: I am seriously frustrated with Namco Bandai/Digital River

I apologize to those getting sick of seeing me post anything about this, but I just want people to know what kind of crap they will have to deal with if they decide to purchase something through their website.

Anywho, on with the rant. I preordered and paid (via paypal) for Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition July 2012. The week the game release, it was botched and my order got cancelled. They sent out that $20 voucher thing to keep us wolves at bay. I used it on Dark Souls (still ended up costing me $17 and change after shipping charges and taxes) on 1/31/2013.

Here we are 2/15/2013 and the game has still yet to ship. I called Digital River twice this week and the only thing they can do is act surprised that it hasn't shipped and 'escalate it'. I could have picked the game up from a freaking Wal-Mart on my way home for $19.96 + tax and had it for 2 weeks now.

Is there anyway to contact Namco just to complain to them that their 3rd party shipping service sucks bawls?

BBB?

I don't mean to be meme-ish, because I do feel for you and it sucks that you're going through this situation. Terrible customer service it seems. You would think that for anyone using those $20 vouchers they would expedite shipping, but, nope, they must really not care about customer retention.

I'd complain and see if you can get the shipping charges dropped at the very least. After that I'd never use them again.

I filed a complaint with the BBB about my Ni No Kuni order getting screwed up and them lying to me saying my shipping address was invalid and thats why they cancelled it. BBB just scoffed and says it doesn't warrant a real complaint and pretty much just dropped it.

I think a lot of people are going to go with the latter in your comment. They might as well shut down their online store.

Now thats an idea. I will give this a shot.

Rofl Kung Fu I feel awful for you. If you still want a Wizard's Edition I haven't even opened mine, and I really don't need the money from screwing other gamers on ebay. Are you already friended with me (AuspexAO) on STEAM? If so we can discuss shipping arrangements later.

Unfortunately, I have no friends on STEAM (besides my brother which I never even see him on there). =(

Indeed, not too many people out there offer to do that stuff.

I love putting Bawls in my mouth while driving.

Uh-oh, it's going to happen again.

Nothing better than swishing Bawls around in my mouth. I'm definitely a Bawls swallower too.

I don't think this is a whiny thread at all. Based on what I've learned in the VGF as far as what happened to people who pre-ordered Ni No Kuni, I will never order a game from the Namco Bandai store. Other companies like Xseed and Nis have awesome stores with great customer service.

The only way to get to the Bawls is to twist the tip.

Actually, while not having a smooth delivery from NISA most of the time, they do have really good communications about their shipping and I am okay with that. I can wait a few days longer if I know for certain that there is a delay and that it has been communicated to me. Namco/Digital River has 0 communication whatsoever and it is maddening.

While typing this, I was on the phone with Digital River and they said they would waive my shipping fees. Thanks for the suggestion Mogwai.

Cool. It's a good idea to go to the VGF group anyway, a lot of us are on there.

Did you put them in the freezer? Generally that causes fluids to expand and freeze up.

I am not sure how to join the "VGF group". I will just send you a request first and go from there.
