The first Tenchu on Playstation is one of my all time favorite stealth games. I hear this new Vita title is very much in the same mold as Tenchu. Is this true? If so, is it more like the first Tenchu or the subsequent ones? I didn't care for the PS2 Tenchu games.

I wondered the same things as I am in the same boat. The reviews have been pretty bad though.

Is Tenchu Z the last game they made? I loved that game even though it definitely had issues. I'd like to play a new Tenchu.

The gameplay is similar to Tenchu in the sense that you are a stealth assassin. Acquire is the same people who started the Tenchu series. The big minus is in the graphics department. It looks more like psp game than a vita game. However, people who are fans of Tenchu, according to reading user reviews and forums, like the game style.

I am not sure if it plays like the former or latter games since I am not familiar with the lastest Tenchu games besides the PS1 games. My knowledge of the game is from reading and seeing a few videos the game.

Most definitely. Acquire made Shinobido because they split with From Software and didn't have the Tenchu IP. They'd later return to Tenchu with Shadow Assassins.

I mentioned this in the Recent Demo Rundown, but I just played this demo last night and loved it. It looks like an upgraded Tenchu Z and seems to have at least some kind of story element with 3 warring factions. The one demo mission was way too short - I was able to find and kill the target within a minute - but I really liked it.

Does anyone have some impressions of the full game? This is the only thread I was able to dig up with the game in the title.

With all the Vita talk lately I'm sure someone here has this game. Compare it to Tenchu Z perhaps? I think that's the only other one I played. Bump.

EDIT - Just read UziSpray's review. I think this might be one of the first retail Vita games that I buy - but I'll still wait a while.

Tenchu 1 was IMO the best tenchu, especially the JPN version with analog controls and OG JPN voice/text.
I've played every tenchu, 1 is the only one I finished multiple times.

Tenchu 1 was amazing but it was single player only which is very lame. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven on the old-school xbox was clearly the best in the series, it was a great 1v1 split-screen fighting game that we wasted sooo many hours with.

I didn't like Wrath of Heaven at all. I'm with Sven...the original game was by far the best.
