Peg drops constrict the wood of the violin and you shouldn't use them.
Shoulder rests are pretty necessary. I don't know anything about that brand. I use a Kun brand shoulder rest, but those can run you $30-50.
You will need rosin for your violin bow too. For now, it won't matter much what kind of rosin you use.

Yeah, peg drops could be considered more of a remedy item than a routine use item. I live in a cold weather location and every time my fiddle gets chilled (cold car, etc) the pegs boing out on me. Hence the remedy. Good luck with your new instrument!
