you get what you pay for.

As far as online play goes, wouldn't either system have issues if a person's connection is crappy? I know I've had my share of crappy online experiences for both systems.

Yea man, i wish people would just shut the hell up and accept other peoples opinions. just let the pointless article copy and pasting and arguments go. because i dont feed into that mess, ignore it. if it was that serious id just get my non fanboy friend to come here and end the stupid bickering once and for all.

he owns everything and ive seen him shut quite a few PS3 and Xbox fanboys up for spewing BS and throwing pointless articles in his face. he doesn't need any articles to prove his points because he knows his stuff.

and as for our brand of xbox exclusives, i personally dont like shooters so i could care less for gears of war and halo. out of the 231 games i have on xbox, neither of those games have been played by me and they wont. fable is boring, forza is just another racing game. the only thing i care about is Alan Wake and next gen needs to hurry up so remedy can give me Alan Wake 2 lol. Microsoft needs some new core IP's then maybe ill give a damn again about their exclusives. i dont really care for PS3's either, heavy rain was good though.

Well then do just that and stop whining about something you dont need to look at. either that or get a PS3. i mean seriously? should have done your research before getting a Wii or WiiU.

Why would I like it? I have the system to play games. I don't want to create a Mii. I don't want it to look like me, represent me, I don't want it there. I don't want a Mii when I open a book. I don't want a Mii when I turn on my Tivo. I don't want a Mii when I play a Blu Ray. And I don't want a Mii when I play a game.

Ivy Vine says:
Yes, the avatars or Mii's are supposed to represent us, but that doesn't mean they necessarily need to resemble us at all. I usually do mine up with things that I like but might in no way look like me. That is what is great about them, they don't need the same skin tone or color of hair that you have.

"Lol listen, if he said it. then it is his opinion. he doesn't need to say "in my opinion", that would be redundant. he didn't say it was a fact, so it doesn't matter. he said it was light years ahead of PSN and i agree. did i say it was fact? No. and neither did he. it's just our opinions and nothing more. we strongly favor Xbox live and are happy paying 60$ a year for it. just like PS+ users will happily pay 50$ a year for their service."

Like I stated before though, he never denied thinking it was a fact, which, again, was a factor I had brought up numerous times.

"Sony has been playing catch up.. so really i cant really think of to much that the ps3 is missing now."

Ha ha ha, sure it is.

" i rarely use it and when i do im playing heavy rain."

Lol, I only use my 360 for Halo so I know what you mean. XD

"but a few years ago everyone would have agreed to PSN being complete garbage compared to Live."

Source?

"now it's getting better. they even changed the store to look more like Lives."

Honestly, the PSN store and the xmb have always had the cleaner and more user friendly interface IMHO. Not as many ads either.

Spin it whichever way you want to, but you and I both know you were treating your opinion like it was a fact. ;)

liza says:
Well obviously if you picked a pre made one it wont look like you. just get creative. because ive never heard someone say that their avatar doesn't resemble them other than you. i think they need to upgrade the hair. and maybe add a skintone/color wheel.

if you don't like it, that's to bad because they aren't going anywhere. just set your Xbox to autoplay games when you turn it on, or simply ignore it.

but i cant fathom how anyone wouldn't like Mii's or Avatars. they are cute and supposed to represent us and i love mine to death, she is a mini me and i spoil her with clothes and props lol.

"Did Adrian ever say it was a fact? i'm curious..."

"BTW, any PS3 fanboys want to start harping about getting it 'for free', I don't want to hear it. Xbox live is light years ahead of what PlayStation offers. Sorry."

^^^His own words, and he never denied thinking that it was a fact despite my constantly bringing it up.

" because if not, then my suspicions about you being an antagonistic fanboy are correct."

Which is why the N64 is my favorite game console of all time, why Super Mario Galaxies 1 and 2 are my favorite games ever, why I've continually expressed how much better I think the 3DS is compared to the Vita, why I hold Halo as the best FPS franchise ever, why Halo 4 was my game of the year last year?.... Because I'm a fanboy? =)

" everybody has their own opinion"

Absolutely.

"and he said he preferred Xbox live over PSN or it's rental service PS+ so just leave it at that and stop bugging him."

No honey, he heavily implied that live is fundamentally better than psn. He didn't state it as an opinion, he thinks it's a fact. Pay a little more attention before defending people that are more ignorant than you are. I can see you're obviously smarter than that.

I just can't stand the 'wall of text' fanaticism. Why the fighting? Hell, it's a great time to be a gamer. I personally enjoy the xbox brand and exlusives, and am more than willing to pay for live. PSN is fine. I just don't think it is sustainable for Sony to offer as a free service. In fact, my guess is that after seeing the success of live, they wish they had gone to subscription route.

I wish I could disable Avatars/Miis. I don't want them, don't want to look at them. I just picked the first one available for mine, which looks nothing whatsoever like me.

After experiencing both services I think it's more so to do with personal preference. I really don't see that much of adiffences except for the Avatar customization which I think is pretty cool. Can't really say much about the interface especially when it comes to DLC. Is Live DLC preferrably bought through the game's interface rather than Microsoft's?

"Guess what? Nobody really cares which system you want to play on. That's the power of choice. A bunch of people play on xbox live, prefer it to PSN even though they have to pay for it, and life goes on. The inverse is also true. The rest of the details really don't matter."

You're finally learning.

Because it IS off topic. You're changing the focus of the discussion and are therefore derailing.

So why did you put down my original comment about the fiscal health of both companies being pertinent to this?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 14, 2013 6:49:42 PM PST
""Either service"? All I do is see you attack people who defend live."

No, I refute people who think Live is factually better than PSN.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 14, 2013 6:48:53 PM PST
"xbox charges. Sony doesn't. Therefore, Sony is superior and moral and Microsoft isn't"

I've never even implied this.

"when you also should consider the fact that Microsoft might just be making a business decision that will successfully sustain the company/service. I don't think Sony has shown the ability to make good business decisions as a company."

And I agree with this, as I did before when I said they can't market for their lives.
