"$60 movie" is a common troll reference to PS3 exclusives due primarily to the existence of cinematically focused titles like Heavy Rain and cutscene-heavy titles like MGS4, though also thanks to the perceived focus on movie-like spectacle that titles like the Uncharted series revolve around.

And those highly anticipated games you mention cost precisely $59.99 plus tax plus shipping (if you're shipping it), just like virtually every other game that gets a physical release on either HD console. That's more than just "getting close to $60," I'd say.

Most physically released Wii games and PC games, however, cost $49.99 (plus tax plus shipping) MSRP upon initial release; most physically released DS games cost between $24.99 and $34.99 MSRP; most physically released PSP, 3DS, and Vita games cost between $29.99 and $39.99 MSRP. Your claim, therefore, that "When it comes to new games the price is same or very close no matter what system you are buying it for," is quite clearly untrue.

I don't think you will regret it especially now that you can get a lot of old exclusives on the cheap. I'm doing the same thing with the PS3 to enjoy the exclusives on there.

No it's not silly. Lots of good games to be had, especially in the downloadable space.

That's strange, I've played Mass Effect, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake, and Fable 3, yet I don't own a 360. Are you trying to make some kind of point?

"Mass effect > uncharted"

From what I've played of Mass Effect, absolutely not IMHO, and Uncharted 2 is more praised than any of the Mass Effect titles according to metacritic, gamerankings, user scores, and game of the year awards (and along with LittleBigPlanet, it's more praised than ANY 360 exclusive). You also seem to forget that Mass Effect 2 and 3 are also on PS3.

Just reference these^^^when I speak of critical praise

"Halo > killzone"

I agree, though IMO Killzone is great as well.

"Splinter cell conviction > MGS4"

HA HA HA, I honestly don't think so, and MGS 4 was also MUCH more praised than Splinter Cell Conviction.

"Forza, Project gotham racing > gran turismo"

Agreed, though IMHO, they all suck.

"Gears of war > resistence"

Gears 3 was the only truly good game in the series IMO, though I've never played ay of the Resistance games.

"alan wake > heavy rain"

I enjoy Alan Wake, but I've never played Heavy Rain, though Heavy Rain was the more praised game of the two.

"Crackdown > infamous"

As much as I loved the first Crackdown, inFAMOUS was superior in almost every way other than the fact that it didn't have co-op IMO. It's also the more praised series.

"witcher 2,fable> over any ps3 rpg"

Fable is overrated garbage IMO. Never played The Witcher 2, but Demon's Souls was more praised than either, and it's a PS3 exclusive RPG (which I've also never played).

"shadow complex, the dishwasher: dead samurai,Alan wake's American Nightmare, Minecraft,Trials evolution, Dreamcast collection, > Any ps3 arcade"

Nah, Journey, Wipeout HD, Fat Princess, Flower, Flow, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD, Okami HD, and Dead Nation are some games that make the PSN's game library better IMHO.

"3rd party game on XBL > 3rd party game on ps3"

According to digital foundry AND lenseoftruth, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, L.A. Noire, Devil May Cry 4, Battlefield 3, Darksiders, Just Cause 2, Saint's Row the Third, Driver: San Francisco, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Shadows of the Damned, Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden trilogy, Portal 2, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Vanquish, and Dark Souls are all some multiplats that run and look better on the PS3, and alot of these are on multiple discs for the 360 while they're on a single disc for the PS3 (some of these I've verified for myself). Still though, even when a game is slightly better on one platform over another, the differences are almost always incredibly insignificant. When they're not, they get fixed via patching (like Darksiders on the 360 and Skyrim on the PS3). This is a poor argument. Besides, I'd rather get the version of the game that has exclusive content and/or features as opposed to the ever so slightly looking better one, and looking at games like Batman: Arkham Aylum, Battlefield 3, Portal 2, Dante's Inferno, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock 1 and Infinite, UFC: Undisputed, Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, Assassin's Creed 2, 3, and Brotherhood, Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection, Mortal Kombat 9, and Mafia 2, it seems to me like it's the PS3 that's getting more and more of it, despite not having to pay for its online.

"Kinect > Move"

From a purely technological standpoint, Kinect is the most impressive motion control solution. It has more real-world potential than the other motion controllers, BUT, from a pure gameplay standpoint, it's gimmicky garbage (well, to me it is anyway). Motion controls were primarily brought out to bring new levels of immersion to gameplay that used to be standard on a regular controller. You could swing swords, shoot enemies, cast spells, and your actions would be mimicked in game. THAT is bad-ass. What ISN'T bad-ass however is when motion controls are dumbed down to incredibly simple gestures because the hardware cannot keep up with the software. From a gameplay standpoint, Kinect is as functional as the Wii remote without the motion plus technology.

Why else do you think that we haven't seen anything along the lines of Red Steel 2, Killzone 3, or The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Kinect? Why else do you think that Forza 4's (in which you had no control of accelaration, effectively destroying strategy) and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversarie's motion control inputs were poorly received? Why else do you think that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier's motion control inputs only apply to a weapon wheel and a quick test shoot rather than the whole game? Why do you think that Mass Effect 3 only has voice command support rather than full-on motion controls? Why else do you think Steel Batallion and Kinect Star Wars got such awful reviews? It's because Kinect is more limited than the wii remote plus and the move controller.

I will admit though that voice commands have awesome applications like shouting "Fus Ro Dah" and emitting a shout in Skyrim, but that has nothing to do with motion controls, and the move's sensor/camera (the PS EYE) also supports headtracking and has some controller free motion controlled games, such as Kung-Fu Live (Which actually ended up getting better reviews than Kinect's own fighting game, Fighter's Uncaged). At the moment anyway, Kinect is the weakest of the motion controls IMO, and looking at these...

http://www.popsci.com/bown/2010/product/sony-playstation-move
That seems to be the general opinion.

"Xbox controller > ps3 controller"

No way. Not only is the d-pad on the 360 controller absolutely terrible, but the controller is not as long lasting as the DualShock 3. Buttons stick, the wireless signal gets lost more easily, and battery life actually ends up being shorter both during gameplay and in the long run from my experience. Sure the PS3 triggers suck for shooters in comparison, but at least you can purchase add-on triggers.

"Xbox 360 > PS3"

Nah, IMO the PS3 has the better value (due to already rechargeable controllers, blu ray, free online multiplayer support, free access to streaming services, web browser, more exclusive DLC, content, and features from multiplatform releases, etc.), more full-featured media capabilities (due to blu-ray, more supported video/audio formats, DVD upscaling) more powerful hardware (the cell processor working in conjunction with the PS3 GPU gives it more potential than the 360), slightly more reliability (the RRoD is no longer anywhere near as much of a problem as it used to be, but the 360 is still slightly less reliable than the PS3, Blu-Ray discs are scratch resistant and games always come on just one disc), the better premium online service (paying $50 a year for PSN + allows you to play games such as LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, Saint's Row 2, Just Cause 2, and Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One for free, gives you access to monthly discounted and free games, lets you take advabtage of cloud saving, trophy synchronization, automatic downloads, etc., and IMHO it gives you MUCH more bang fir your buck than 5 years of Xbox Live), a better controller (it's more reliable, is rechargeable out of the box, has motion control capabilities, has a MUCH better d-pad, and can support add-on triggers), a better, more varied exclusive game library (Journey, MGS 4, LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, God of War 3, inFAMOUS 1 and 2, Demon's Souls, Modnation Racers, Gran Turismo 5, MLB: The Show, Killzone 2 and 3, Resistance trilogy, Heavy Rain, and Uncharted trilogy just to name a few, and alot of these have fantastic online multiplayer as well), and a more promising upcoming ineup (God of War: Acension, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last Guardian, Sly Cooper 4, The Last of Us). Also...

mega Tron says:
I realize you are just copying and pasting the same old tired stuff over and over, but you should consider removing using Sorcery in your arguments. Sorcery blows. The motion controls don't even work right, which is why you have to switch it to Easy mode and use auto aim to even play the game. Sorcery could have easily been done on Kinect.

"Sorcery could have easily been done on Kinect."

Right because that invisible navigation controller does wonders for the kinect /s

Honestly though, sorcery was not at all bad and it's still better than 99% of full kinect games.

I dont remember asking your opinion? But you seem to like giving it out. You compared god of war to ninja blade? I dont know what ninja blade is. Nice one. i like how you mention sports games that was cute. demon souls more praised than The witcher 2 OR Fable? I HIGHLY doubt it. Look up the facts like you do. What happen to kill zone being the halo killer? SO for psn+ you pay for free games??? =p
"a more promising upcoming ineup (God of War: Acension, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last Guardian, Sly Cooper 4, The Last of Us)."

^^^Lol, sure you didn't. =]

"You compared god of war to ninja blade? I dont know what ninja blade is. Nice one."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja_Blade
Ninja Blade is a 360 exclusive that was Microsoft's attempt at a God of War style action game, and as you can tell by the reviews and by the fact that you don't even know what it is, it failed miserably. =P

" i like how you mention sports games that was cute."

I can't help it if the PS3 library is better and more varied than the 360's by general opinion. =I

You were saying? =D

"What happen to kill zone being the halo killer?"

Killzone is a great series, though IMO, not as great as Halo. What happened to Splinter Cell being an MGS killer? =3

"SO for psn+ you pay for free games??? =p"

Because paying paying for Xbox Live to access online multiplayer, streaming services, and chat features provides SO much more value right? =B

""a more promising upcoming ineup (God of War: Acension, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last Guardian, Sly Cooper 4, The Last of Us)."
PSN better be free looks like your not going to be using it"

Wrong. God of War: Acension has online multiplayer. XP

"Next year Halo and gears will rule all as always"

Sure they will. That's why the PS3 library is more critically acclaimed than the 360 library, why LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2 are more praised than any 360 exclusive, why Uncharted 3, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection, and LittleBigPlanet 2 were all more praised than Gears 3, Why God of War III was more praised than Halo: Reach, and why MGS 4 was more praised than Gears 2. XD

"once again COME AT ME BRO!!! =D"

Sure thing! =)

And I'm waiting until Black Friday by the way.

Maybe, or probably not.

Good thing I bought mine last year.

On Dec. 30.

I just bought my 360 slim this past spring and I've been happy with it. I got a really good deal then too. I was one of those ppl who bought one at launch and got the RROD and just never went back to the 360 until recently. Slim seems to be very reliable.

The Xbox 3 is probably coming next year...if we're lucky it'll have backwards compatibility, but...who knows.

I guess I'd say if you're out of other games, then go for it. Otherwise...not sure...maybe just wait, buy games you want and just buy the Xbox 3 if it's backwards compatible maybe.

Deadly Premonition

One of my absolute favorite Xbox exclusives (which ironically I guess was a Playstation exclusive in Japan!)

Mass Effect 1 of course is awesome, and if you like Sakaguchi's games, Lost Odyssey is a must play.

Halo and Gears are fine, but IMO no better than Sony's equivalent exclusives. Actually I like Resistance better than either, and it's better looking too, but still they're perfectly good shooters...oh, Halo Wars is fun too, well worth $20.

Most stuff's pointing towards it being next year, and being really underwhelming hardware. Multiple times more powerful than an Xbox 360, but WAAAAAAAY less powerful than a good PC of today, let alone when it launches.

SUPER disappointing if true :(
