I know I'm always on the look out for a good deal, so I thought maybe we could help each other out when we see YA books on discount, whether for print or Kindle. Seems like having a dedicated thread is the easiest way.

(This could easily become dangerous, lol. I already have way too many books both on my shelves and on my Kindle...)

ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK PRICES BEFORE YOU BUY. Lots of times these deals and promotions are for a limited time.

Good idea!
Here Lies Bridget (Harlequin Teen) by Paige Harbison is $3.12. This one has been going down in price a few cents at a time the last few days so may go even lower.

There are always a ton of YA titles in the "under $5" section of the bargain books. Right now, Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices) is $4.36 and Beautiful Creatures (Beautiful Creatures, Book 1) is $4. That's just the front page. :)

Oh and Jenny Pox (The Paranormals, Book 1) is free for Kindle right now too!

(It's usually low priced or free, from what I've seen.)

I've heard good things about it and downloaded it myself, just haven't gotten around to it. My TBR pile = HUGE!

These prices are probably higher than what I'd consider a "steal," but if anyone's looking to read the book/s before the movie comes out next week, these are good prices for such a popular (and awesome) series:

The Hunger Games - $5.01 for Kindle OR paperback
Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) - $7.70 for Kindle
Mockingjay (The Final Book of The Hunger Games) - $7.14 for Kindle
The Hunger Games Trilogy - $18.99 for Kindle

Also: Each of the individual Kindle editions are FREE for Amazon Prime members right now.

For Americans (as is the case with most deals): The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking Book 1) by Patrick Ness.

ETA ... of course I'd forget the most important part! It's currently $0.99.

Kribu, can you tell me how the E-book system works in other countries? I lived a year in France and I sometimes visit the AMAZONE.FR site but I have yet to see kindle books. How about in your country? Also, do your public libraries use the Dewey Decimal system for non-fiction books? thanks

Kribu says:
I buy Kindle books from, like everyone else without their own Amazon Kindle storefront (Amazon UK sells Kindle books strictly to people residing in the UK; sells Kindle books strictly to people residing in France; sells Kindle books strictly to people residing in Germany, Austria and I think Switzerland, possibly also Liechtenstein - you need a billing address in one of those countries + a credit card issued there in order to shop for Kindle books in those stores).

(Truth be told, I also buy epub books from Kobobooks or BooksOnBoard, especially when they have a better deal on something than Amazon, which happens more often than not, but that's because I'm an evil sort of person who has no moral problems with stripping DRM off the books I've bought for my own personal consumption and converting them for the Kindle. If Amazon ever decides to stop punishing customers living in less important countries with the $2 surcharge on every book, I might buy more from Amazon again.)

I have no idea what system our public libraries use, sorry. It's been at least 15 years since I've been in one. (What I do know is that they don't stock random mainstream YA/urban fantasy/cosy mystery/anything else with the possible exception of some classics in English, and as those are the genres I prefer to read, and as the overwhelming majority of books in those genres are originally written in English, I read them in English.)

I think most of Rick Riordan's books fall more towards the middle-grade than YA side of the fence, but in any case, Throne of Fire, The (The Kane Chronicles Book 2) (second book in the Kane Chronicles) is $2.99 for Americans just now.

Kribu says:
The Kindle Daily Deal for Americans today is five recently released dystopian YA novels for $1.99 each:

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Green Heart by Alice Hoffman
The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
Ashes, Ashes by Jo Treggiari
Empty by Suzanne Weyn

Oh, these area all ones I've read--and most are $2.99 or less.
PORTAL (Portal Chronicles) Portal Chronicles -- Paranormal YA (No vampires)

Hush Money (Talent Chronicles)Impulse Control (Talent Chronicles) YA Paranormal

Shadow and Light - YA Fantasy (set in another world) Shadow and Light

These are all actually 99cents right now, I guess. Thought they were $2.99. The first two are part of a series, so I guess the first is 99cents to give them a try. I loved the Portal series, and the Talent Chronicles.

I enjoyed Shadow and Light--I like books where there is great world-building. (The world has half-dark on one side, and all-light on the other)
