I read Heather's book Breathless. It was very good - I recommend!

I second Sunshine by Robin McKinley. Her books are excellent. If you don't mind jumping into the world of full-out fantasy, Beauty and Rose Daughter, as retellings of Beauty and the Beast, have a pretty similar feel to paranormal romance.

You could also try Children of the Night by Mercedes Lackey. It's very fun, and if you like it, this author's written a ton of books.

If you like mystery, too, you might enjoy Tanya Huff's Blood Price and its sequels.

Hi there-- if your interested I just published a vampire novel on here. Its called "Eve." Most of the vampire books you read is about a human who falls in love with a vampire. "Eve" follows the story of a young woman who has been changed into a vampire. I'm a big fan of vampire books and can tell you that it is really unique. I've gotten great reviews from it already. I inserted the product link and hope you get a chance to read it. It's only $3.00 AND it is a full length novel and not just a short novella.

Hope this helps!

The Buried Covenant

I'll plug my YA Novel. It's about Jayke Wolff, a sheltered teen who begins to learn about his past and has to make a decision about who he's going to be. Choosing one path will bring great burdens and dangers, while ignoring his place in the wider world could render his otherwise significant life meaningless. To choose the more difficult path will require him to leave behind the friends he's made and the girl he's fallen in love with to protect them all. I was inspired by the Twilight love story and the mystery of Dan Brown novels when writing this, though it isn't a vampire story. If this sounds like something you might like, check out the sample available above. You can also visit the website, to find out a little more.

My YA Paranormal Romance just came out last week! It's entitled: My Dad's a Paranormal Investigator: Seeking Shifters! Has a little bit of everything in it!

And some other great books would be: The Chronicles of Faerie by O.R. Melling, The Secret Circle by L.J. Smith (as well as her Forbidden Game series), Vampire Academy series (Richelle Mead), Hush, Hush (Becca Fitzpatrick), Richie Tankersley Cusick has some great ones too! A lot of the ones I can think of off the top of my head, you've probably already read (LOL). My Dad's a Paranormal Investigator: Seeking Shapeshifters by Rebekah Purdy

Try The Keeper by Jessica Crawford Vernold (independent author) self published to ebook. It is a young adult paranormal romance set in the deep south and involves angels and demons. It is around 90,000 words. First novel.

I'd recommend Gifts of the Blood (Gifted Blood Trilogy), if you like fallen angel stuff.

I'd also second Susan's recommendation of Glimpse, and her own book Hush Money is similarly awesome.

And, like everyone else, I'm hocking my own junk too. Heather (above), Dean Koontz, Lurlene McDaniel and I all have this title: Breathless--but mine's the only one with a pentagram on the cover. :P

Mari, I have a paranormal romance up for .99 cents called Ethereal (Celestra Series Book 1)

I hope you give it a try it's a young adult read about angels! Here's a blurb;

Sixteen year-old Skyla Messenger is a dead girl walking.

When her newly remarried mother moves the family to Paragon Island, to a house that is rumored to be haunted, Skyla finds refuge in Logan Oliver, a boy who shares her unique ability to read minds.

Skyla discovers Logan holds the answers to the questions she's been looking for, but Logan's reluctance to give her the knowledge she desires leaves her believing Logan has a few secrets of his own.

Skyla's bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in.

Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels wants her dead, at least she still has Logan, or does she?

I just read Ethereal (Celestra Series Book 1) by Addison Moore. I hadn't heard of the author before but the book looked interesting and was cheap. Great read. Great tension.

It is YA paranormal/myth/romance. Sounds like its exactly what your looking for. Anyway, there's my 2 cents.:)

Hi Mari,

My new paranormal romance Zombies Don't Cry: A Living Dead Love Story features a zombie-mortal-zombie love triangle you might find interesting. And it's far from over-the-top popular so chances are you haven't read it! Hope you don't mind the author plug, and keep on reading!!!

I really like the Morganville Vampire series by Rachael Caine, the first one is called Glass Houses. It's constant action with alot of good tender moments and it has alot of great characters. I also like Patricia Briggs's Mercedes Thompson series. There's a strong female lead and a pretty good love triangle in the first few books. I've also just released a ya paranormal romance that you should check out called "Of Sun & Moon" that's the first in a new series.

Glass Houses (Morganville Vampires, Book 1)
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson)
Of Sun & Moon (Midnight Guardian Series, Book 1)

Hi, Mari.

Take a look at my new paranormal romance, LIFETHREAD. It might be just what you're looking for.

McKenna Fin is armed, dangerous, and in love for the first time. She'll do anything to earn her humanity... except the one thing the Fate's require.

Stuck in her senior year of high school until she earns her humanity, McKenna Fin is responsible for cutting the lifethread of demons, and protecting teens from being possessed. To celebrate her fiftieth year of apprenticeship to the Fate Atropos, McKenna is given a new responsibility, and possibly a quick way to earn her humanity-severing the lifethread of deserving humans. Her first assignment: Nathan Quinn.

When Nathan becomes a primary demon target and gets sucked into Tartania, McKenna's duty as a Fated priestess demands she follow. McKenna can rescue him, no problem, but then she'd have to cut his lifethread. And he's the one and only guy she's been attracted to since forever.

The demons consider Nathan one of their own and fight to keep him. The time limit on Nathan's life is about to run out, and McKenna has to make the decision: sever his lifethread, or battle demons, defy the Fates, and keep him for her own.

Here's the link:

If you want to read about ninjas, and how their relationships works with each other, check out the new series Legend of a Ninja. It's not like the usual, a lot of great characters and it's just the beginning.

I absolutely LOVE your writing Linda Joy Singleton. I was waiting for so long for the conclusion to The Seer series. I work in a library and try to recommend it as often as I can. You rock!

In reply to an earlier post on Apr 6, 2011 10:31:44 AM PDT
Thanks, Kelly! A friend passed your nice comment on and I love to hear librarians enjoy my books. The 6th THE SEER took 3 years to come out and I did my best to give readers what they want. The good news is that a spin-off starring Thorn called The Goth Girl Mystery: #1. BURIED comes out next March. Also on my website, there's a short story called SABINE MEETS DEAD GIRL.

Great recommendation! It was such a wonderful change from so many of the typical paranormal books. I went anxiously looking for more, but the second book was due out April 19th and I can't find it anywhere - HELP!

Carol Stucki says:
Sara's Gift: Comes the Crow Have you ever wanted to possess a paranormal power? If you have, and if you love animals, this is the gift you would want! This is a fun, refreshing change from the typically dark paranormal genre you have seen of late. Experience an enjoyable story that is uplifting and that you won't hesitate to share with your teen or preteen. Enjoy together with your children the adventures of Sara Stillsen, a fourteen-year-old girl who has been given the ability to heal animals. This story details Sara's adventures of understanding her unusual power, the relationship with her overprotective brothers, and knowing when and how to use the gift that no one in the small Texas ranching community knows she possesses. The banter and antics between Sara and her brothers as she progresses is entertaining and heartwarming. With her spirit guide, a wolf-hybrid named Foxy, and her Cherokee mentor Uncle Buck, how can she help but succeed? There are struggles along the way, and Sara eventually either must embrace her gift of a being a healer, or walk away and be an ordinary teenager. This is the book for anyone who dreams of living in the country where you can ride horses and care for a variety of animals. This is Sara's story.

About the author: In this story, Carol Stucki combines the adventures of her youth with the love of animals she has always had. She is a graduate of Angelo State University, in San Angelo Texas, with a degree in Computer Science. In her professional career she has authored books on IT Auditing, Computer Security, and other technical subjects. With this book, she shares her life and her dreams in the form of a book suitable for all of us. This is the first in a series entitled Sara's Gift.
