I own two GHD extra wide ceramic straighteners. I bought the first one a few years ago in the UK. I wear my hair long and try to keep it in the best condition possible so I'm really cautious about what I use on it. These ceramic plates are the best. Yup. Better than Chi or Sedu. I loved mine so much that I bought a second pair for use when I'm in America...my previous ones running off European voltage. Worth the money. But be sure to buy a good sealer. And like any super heating tools, don't overuse.

I had previously bought the smaller GHD IV(1-inch styler) at Sephora, but returned it because: (1) it was too much $$$, and (2) it rolled on its side when I put it down on the vanity.
I am glad that I got the wider version on Amazon.com because I got a better price (although the price on Amazon.com has increased $40 since I bought it 2 days ago...), and since it is flat, it does not roll when I put it down.
I am able to get my hair stick straight or curl it for more volume (watch the instructional videos on GHD's website, as this model does not include the DVD). I am able to style my hair very quickly with only 1 pass, so my hair is not exposed to long periods of heat (like with a hair dryer). It is not a heavy styler, so your arms won't get tired either.
I was also able to register it on GHD's website, so this product is legit. Like other reviewers of this brand have written, make sure you buy from Amazon.com and not a third party. That way if the registration does not go through, you can return it hassle-free to Amazon.com.

I agree with all of the other positive reviews. Unfortunately, for me, it still takes 50 minutes or so to iron my thick, long hair. However, this iron straightens much easier than any iron I have had, cheap or expensive. It made the process much more simple. I do not have to go over the hair very many times. I also don't dread straightening my hair anymore!

Seller shipped product EXTREMELY fast recieved within two days- would purchase products from seller again! I cant say this was worth the selling price but i do notice a slight difference between this straightner vs my previous one. Overall a good straightner but not how all the youtube reviews make it out to be. If i had to purchase again i might but not ever for the price of 190 again. Seller did sell for cheaper than the websites and other amazon sellers!!

This is the best hair iron out there. Nothing else gets my hair from its natural curly state to pin straight! It's a little expensive but worth it. I wanted it for more then a year before I bought it and as far as I am concerned that was wasted time and money on other cheaper but mediocre irons that eventual broke. Buy ghd, you won't be sorry!

My daughter has very curly and hard to straighten hair. She has always had a chemical straightener and I have used the Sedu iron which has a very good rating. I decided to go with this 2" GHD as it is a bit wider and I find that I can straightener her hair without the chemical straightening which is much better for her hair. It works well and heats fast. So far we are very happy with the product

This styler is as good as advertised. My wife was surprised at how well it worked.

This product is amazing people, I can used just one time in my hair without damage after. So I recomeded for the women who want to have her hair nice for the week.

We were very unhappy---the item appeared in the ad as a one inch iron ---it was not---when we returned the item unused and unopened, we were charged 15% for our trouble not including the shipping cost we incurred---very,very unhappy
