My first GI Joe was a painthead Action Pilot in his "coffin" box, faithfully recreated in this set. It was a real thrill to see this minty replica of my old playmate in his box, with replica paperwork and accessories. The only reason this doesn't get five stars is that the "Survival" boxed accessory set with life-raft, included, isn't one of my favorites.

Didn't matter. Had to have it anyway. I like the accessories in the later pilots in the 40th Anniversary series better though, the crash crew set being far and away the finest of the lot. Five stars isn't nearly enough for that one.

I bought this right after Christmas and was pleased. The gear is very cool and authentic. The figure is much better looking than the other timeless or masterpiece sets. The figure box is great, just like from the 60s. It even has the little cartoon kid in the corner. You know the one I'm talking about. Anyway this is a great set. A must have. Buy and enjoy!
