5.0 out of 5 stars It grows on you.
I like your sound, I hope there's a day in the future when you dudes are breaking the Top 40 when I can say, "Hey man I was down with them before they were famous!"

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars The guitar sound was very good.
I thought the tracks 'Listen', 'I'd Rather Say', and 'History's Repeating Itself'(?) (track 12) were particularly strong, but the definite highlight of the album for me was 'What Will It Take' which I have to admit I hummed for most of the next day. You all sound like accomplished musicians, the guitar sound was especially good, and was very `Johnny Marr' in places,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete Misrepresentation, June 2, 2004

I would call this "so-called-audio" the worst article of bad taste I have EVER heard...but there is that rare off chance that there just might be one worse, but I really doubt it. The way these small town acts go about reviewing themselves and providing all of the source print themselves. First off, there are no sound samples online, in this case that is a good thing. If there were they wouldn't move a unit. Secondly, the highest priced item is what? 3 dollars? It may cost more to ship it then the value of the actual disc itself. Do yourself a favor, take the same money, buy your own blank CDs and record yourself farting and burn that to disc at home - at least that would be somewhat "intentionally funny" whereas The Names...well, they are so awful, it's unintentional comedy. (sorry there was no option for a negative stars rating)

My first reaction to hearing it was "it reminds me of the himalayans tape" [a band Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows was in previous to hitting fame]  I mean that in a good way too! Also reminded me of Toad The Wet Sprocket's early album, the one with "way away" on it.

Your use of vocal harmony is, in my opinion, your strongest attribute and really defines your sound. I think my favorite tune overall is probably "Listen". I like the phaser effect in there.

The lyrics of Breaking Down really touched me and made a great impact on me. Also, some great tunes such as "He Showed Up" and "What Will It Take" helped to make the CD pleasant to listen to. I had never heard your band before, but I may have to go to one of your shows now if I ever make it out to California.
