Whether you believe in the Golem or not, Gershon Winkler's book is enchanting. The tales he weaves, which help us to see the Maharal (Rabbi Yehuda Loewy) in a more human role, are full of Jewish folklore and kabbalistic references.I enjoyed this book immensely. I wish there was a second volume with more stories about "Yossele Golem" and The Maharal's Prague. |
