Hello Robert, I'm almost 1 year unemployed and at age 59, it's impossible to find a job. My wife who is an elementary teacher is recovering very slow from an illness and she cannot work. We have endured from our savings that are running out next month of May, 2012. We tried to negotiate with the lender of our mortgage, but the bank opted to sell our home at a public auction using a Non-Judicial process by 6/27/2012. My only possibility to survive it is to request an early distribution of my 10-year retirement funds with 30% penalty for early withdrawal remaining about $35,000 out of $50,000 and then at the tax income refund, the IRS and the state will want to take more 10%. What can I do to make $35,000 last forever until I get on my feet? With gratitude, Guillermo /

Hello Guillermo
I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but possibly this may be a blessing. You have nothing to lose. Now is your time to "go for it". A job is not the answer. Neither is trying to stretch $35,000 enough to last forever. What are your "unfair advantages"? What skills or point of view do you possess that can bring you wealth? What need can you solve to make the world better or to create a better product/service at a better price?
Look to yourself and your abilities to get out of this situation. You can do this. Others have done this. I have done this. I was once homeless. Use your greatest muscle (your mind) to find your solution. There is not one answer that fits everyone. The answer must come from yourself and taking an honest look at yourself and your unfair advantage.
You can do this.
Robert
