It was very hard not to give five stars, but the main menu interface leaves quite a bit to be desired.

First of all, this is all going to be managed through Steam. When you buy the pack Amazon will give you a steam code. Enter it and it will download the Sega Interface. It will appear as though it's only given you one game: Toejam and Earl. DON'T PANIC - CHECK YOUR E-MAIL.

In your e-mail you'll have received an order summary from Amazon with all the rest of your Steam codes - twelve total. Some are for individual games (like Toejam and Earl, Sonic 3, etc) while some are for collections. The nice thing is that Steam packages them all together into "SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics", one entry in your Steam Library, so it's not clogged up with 48 different sega games.

Or it would be nice. You'd better keep track, because going to your Sega entry doesn't give a list of the games you already have. And here's where the interface really takes a dive: you only have to launch one program, the Sega Collection, to access your Sega games. So far so good. But you cannot simply get a list of your games to pick from - you have to scroll through all of them. Every time. And they're not in alphabetical order either some are, but the rest are in "sega pack" order. The program does give you some basic configurability options - you can configure two controllers, adjust the default resolutions basic stuff but good enough.

I had a lot of fun playing some old-school games though, when I should have been doing research. Well worth but but it really warrants a warning about the interface. If you buy more Steam-managed Sega Games in the future, they will be folded into your package. For instance, this deal comes with Classics Packs 1 through 4. But if you like, you can go on to buy Classics Pack 5 to get Phantasy Star IV, Dynamite Headdy, and some other gems added to your collection.

A lot of fun and an awesome deal, but one star off for the navigation interface.

93% off?!! The best damn deal I've seen for 48 games!

This pack has tons of classics like the sonic series, streets of rage, vector man, comix zone..just a whole ton of games to name that you remember from your childhood!

Now remind you that this is NOT DRM-FREE [DRM is a method of controlling access to copyrighted material for a variety of content in digital formats]..this is for 'STEAM' and 'Steam' is a program you use ( For FREE) to play/buy games, chat/voice chat with friends, take in-game pictures and share them with your friends to see! (steam has over 5 million users online possibly every day) They also have DAILY/WEEKLY Deals for great games!

All the games work, it is just like playing when you were a kid EXCEPT even better. When you play the games the screen is more clear and don't have those OLD Tv lines you would see. The old tv lines are an option though in the game settings so it can feel like the good old days! there are options for fullscreen, Vsync and [resolution size for windowed mode only].
YES! you can play LOCAL Co-op on games that support 2 players!
If you are in a hurry and have to leave to work or school there is a quick save button that will save you TONS of time if you are ever in a situation where you would have to search everywhere for a save point in the game. Also helps when you die and have to start a level ALL over again from scratch!

Sadly there are certain games that i wish they had for this program such as X-men series and nba jam and Street fighter series.
Still there are a ton of games to keep you busy that will surely bring Nostalgia!

I say these games are worth the buy if you like old school games especially for the right price..

Won't clog your steam library list

All works fine, note: games don't register seperately (not going to clutter your list), it's all under "SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics" title and unviewable until you launch that.

So I added the codes to my Steam and all but one installed: Sonic 3D Blast. When I went into the DLC, it was checked, but not installed. I needed to uncheck it, close the DLC, re-open the DLC, and re-check the box. After that, it installed correctly. I really miss my old Genesis that I gave away 10+ years ago, but I LOVE when they port the old cartridges over to PC. It brings back memories big time. Since I am a PC gamer, I am used to using the mouse/keyboard for gaming, but it was really odd playing these games on the keyboard. It took a little time for me to get used to using the keyboard, but after that, I was playing Sonic and ECCO like it was yesterday. The screen resolution is so-so, but I guess it would've been too much to ask to re-engineer the games for HD. Especially at $5 for 48 games. So not really complaining, but grumbling and straining my eyes a bit. Anyone in my generation (mid-40's) will not be disappointed. Anyone younger might play these games and go "Huh? where's the HD?"

Man, feel like I'm a kid again! I've been playing the Sonic the Hedgehog series again thanks to this collection, and I finally beat all the sonic games (something that's kind of difficult as a child, no?). Streets of Rage takes me waaaaay back, too bad I don't have an extra controller to co-op with a friend!

This collection has all your favorite classics in it. Not only that, it has some very critically acclaimed games in it. Vectorman, Ecco the Dolphin, Altered Beast, you name an acclaimed Genesis game, this collection most likely has it! I play it with my Xbox wired controller which works with PC, however you can use virtually any game pad for the computer and plug it in, and just configure the controller to the desired settings!

I gave 4 out of 5 stars for two reasons. One, the menu interface is not ideal. You have to scroll through each and every title (of which there are MANY, the amount is not something I can complain about) to get to the game you want to play. For example, Sonic games are closer to the mid-end of the collection. I'd have to scroll through each title to get to them! I wish there were icons, or a drop down menu somewhere.

The other reason I gave 4 stars is because of some titles I WISH I could play Shinobi I and II BEFORE jumping into III, but this pack only has III! Also, I'd LOVE Streets of Rage 3 to be on this, but alas, all we get is 1 and 2. Still, I'm being critical. This collection is just what you need to relive the ol' glory days of Sega Genesis! Have fun!

I want to start out with that I purchased this pack in February when the price was $5. I would have never purchased this bundle for the current (3/22/15) price of $70.

It is a good collection of SEGA games with several popular titles. They all are well coded and respond well to a connected game controller. I use the XBOX for Windows controller.

The games WILL NOT individually show up in your Steam library, rather as a single SEGA game selection which opens a separate game menu. Once inside, the games are not in any specific order with no way to reorganize them.

In conclusion, a nice collection with some minor organization flaws and ONE TERRIBLE price. Potential purchasers please wait for this pack to drop in price. It is usually discounted in an Amazon Digital Deals weekly special or Black Friday.

With this pack you get great platformers like Sonic 1-3, Gunstar Heroes, Vectorman, and Alien Soldier; Great RPGs such as Light Crusader, Shining Force, and Landstalker; And great beat em ups like Streets of Rage, Altered Beast and Alien Storm. Basically, if you like 16-bit games (or even if you don't), there's something for everyone. There's a reason why so many modern indie games try to emulate the 16-bit era. They made great games back then.
