I love this phone! I had heard a lot about the BLU company before. I knew they sold budget phones with pretty good specifications, so I was really delighted to be sent an evaluation phone to review. I already have both a Moto G 1st Gen and a Moto G 2nd Gen phone, and I would say that this phone is right in the middle of both of them, specification wise and performance wise. But, compare what these phones are selling for, and this is the definite choice over those phones if you're looking for great value.

There really isn't anything that I don't like about this phone. It's really responsive, except it lags a little bit with Skype, but that could just be the Skype application. The screen is great, and it's very clear. I like the version of Lollipop that they have on this. It's Lollipop 5.0. The only thing that I don't like is that for new screens you have to swipe right, instead of starting in the middle. You can see what I'm talking about in my video.

It comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which is about 50% bigger than most batteries, but it seems to last about 2x to 4x longer than most phones. If you're not using it, then it hardly drains the battery at all, similar to how old Nokia phones used to be, before smart phones.

This is a great phone for me, and I'm a 43-year old man. But, it's also a great, economical phone for a kid who will probably lose or destroy it, or a great first time phone for a parent. I highly recommend this phone, and I'm definitely getting other BLU phones in the future, too.

Pros:
+Superb battery life
+Not too heavy
+Great display
+Everything you need in a basic phone
+Takes great pictures
+Extremely economical

Cons:
-A little choppy in some applications

My beloved Note 2 stopped working and after mourning it's passing, I did a lot of shopping around for a new phone. I knew I didn't want to change carriers, but I also knew I didn't want to pay the premium prices they charge for a new device (I'm no contract, so no upgrade allowance or anything like that). After lots of research and reading a novels worth of reviews, I decided on the BLU Studio C. Now, I've never used an unlocked phone, so I was a wee bit intimidated, but for no reason, as it turns out! I had previously read a review stating that one should make sure to insert the SIM card prior to powering on the phone for the first time, so I did that, and everything else was simple. I was literally up and running in less than 5 minutes. The BLU Studio C basically walked me through everything - it couldn't have been easier. It brought in all of my contacts and all of the apps from my old phone; awesome!! I received it on Thursday May 28th, 2015, charged it to 100%, then allowed it to completely discharge and die before recharging to 100%. The battery lasted almost a full 48 hours before dying. That's impressive to me. The screen feels different to me than my Note 2 screen, and I'm still getting used to that - it doesn't seem as responsive. And my only other complaint is I can't figure out a way to change the font for the entire phone - I'm very "girly" and on the Note 2 I had a pretty little handwriting sort of font. I miss that, but it's a trivial issue. All in all, for $100, I couldn't possibly be more pleased. I'm now a new convert and anticipate being #BLU4Life :)

Pros:
The Best phone under $120.
Its running near stock android Lollipop and no bloat at all.
Performance is good for a budget phone.
Battery is awesome as i charged it to 100% and its been 2 days and still i ve 25% left.I m a moderate to heavy user mostly checking my emails, social media etc..
4G works well.Though LTE is not available,4G is pretty fast on T-mobile.
Media volume is loud enough.
64gb microsd memory card works really well.
Dual sim works well.
Cons:
Camera is lagggggy and not good for daylight photos also.Quality of photos leaves a lot to be desired.
Media volume can be lowered through volume buttons on when playing media content.
Screen resolution is below par.Looks good on paper but real world resolution is a whole different story.
Its a bit on the heavier side though the bigger battery compensates for it.

I think it might be due all the apps installing from my google account. The keyboard is a bit laggy so I nixed the installed keyboard and downloaded googles. A bit better but no galaxy 4 5 or 6 keyboard. For the price the phone is excellent takes crisp pics if you have a steady hand. Took some getting used to with layout but that might be lolipop. I love the notifications on the lock screen and the double tap feature to go directly to said notification. Thanks lollipop! If money is not a problem this phone will disappoint, in no way is it a flagship but it certainly stands on the #1 spot with go phones for sure!

For the past year I have been flirting with the idea of purchasing a Blu phone. The specs sound great, they are new, fresh, and that price. I bought this after months of comparing and contrasting against other phones, and in a last minute decision before I changed my mind I bought it. I have been looking for a new phone as a replacement or temporary phone, I did not have hopes of getting something that I would settle for at the moment.

Upon receiving the phone I transferred all contacts/media to a micro SD, then I fired it up. The setup was the quickest that I've ever had with an android phone, it was at least under a minute, and that was with logging into Google and setting up the wi-fi. Has no trouble reading the micro Sim card or the 32gb SD card. The phone does not look like a flagship phone, in fact it looks something like a Samsung Galaxy player, remember those? No? not surprised. The phone runs just as good as my previous phone when it was brand new, I was not expecting this phone to be fast or smooth. But my expectations have been surpassed after using this the past few days.

With onboard 1gb RAM & 8gb ROM, the phone doesn't skip a beat.

Blue tooth link with car? no problem.
Blue tooth link to wireless headset? no problem.
Transfers between other phones; i.e. Send Anywhere? no problem.
Calls? Texts? Data? Online web apps? not a problem.

To top things off you would have expected the case it comes with to be just thin "trash", but it has just enough of a lip on the case so that the screen does not touch a flat surface. Have not used the screen protectors yet as I'm normally in an office setting and do not have the need to use one.

I did read some reviews that said the phone would crash after a couple days or after running apps or just wouldn't stay on. But in my experience I have not had any issues with this. You would think that a phone that was $100 would not hold it's own weight against a flagship Samsung or LG but so far it ranks up there with an LG G3 that I tested for a while. Insane I know.

But if you are skeptical about buying this, when you keep going to the web page for it every day, you know something is telling you it might not be a bad purchase.

I would definitely recommend this.

Great job, Blu! I'm loyal to my BlackBerry Passport but if I ever decided to tinker with an Android device for fun I would try a Blu product!

I love this phone. For the last eight years I have been locked into buying a new Samsung every two years. I really got tired of the price of these phones and decided to try the BLU Studio C 5.0. I have only had it three days but at this point it is probably dollar for dollar the best phone I've ever bought in my life. It does everything it says and does it well. I've downloaded about 70 apps, given it a good workout, just started to learn all the tricks that it will do and I just love the phone. At this price for the features and quality you cannot go wrong purchasing this phone. The only reason I can think of to buy one of those $600-$800 phones is for your ego. If you want a phone that performs virtually like these flagship phones at a fraction of the price then you have to try this one.
FOLLOW UP; I have had it a week now and I like it more every day as I learn additional great features the phone has. I neglected to mention in my first review it comes with a case and screen protector. Great phone.
FOLLOW UP. Well I have had it several weeks and love it, a great phone. My only con would be that it is common knowledge Android 5.0 has some flaws. I emailed BLU to see if they planed on updating the OS and there response follows;"We will be trying our best to support the OS beyond the Android 5.0 update!" For me to be a viable long term seller of phones you need to keep the OS up to date.

We don’t use this as a phone. My daughter has been given this phone to use as a camera and for music. She’s too young for a phone, in my opinion, and so I see no need for her to get a plan or a number yet, but she’s been begging for a camera and this gives her an easy way to take pictures with her friends and chronicle her days. For what she’s using this for, this works well. The battery life is insane. My daughter is on this constantly, taking pics and listening to music and playing games and it lasts her all week. It’s a nice size, fun display screen, takes good pics and has a lot of nice features that will eventually transition into a nice phone in the future. I will note that the phone froze, apparently for no reason, the other day and was an absolute pain to restart and correct. It took a good five minutes to get the phone to actually turn off and restart, but once it did the issue was resolved. I’m hoping that this isn’t reflective of what this phone will be like.

First off, as I appear to be unable to use my existing SIM card from my provider with this phone I was unable to use it to make standard calls. However, I did use it for playing music, browsing the web, and Google Hangouts.

That said, I was pretty impressed with the BLU Studio C immediately after opening the package as it included both a screen protector as well as clear back case cover. Normally these two items would set you back $20 to $30, so it was completely unexpected and welcome.

Unfortunately I did run into issues getting the screen protector on the phone itself (crooked the first time and then specs had gotten onto the sticky side when trying to put it on straight. It also feels very slippery compared to what I've used in the past (Tech Armor on my Galaxy S4, and I forget what on my tablets). Honestly, with the specs under the protector and the smoothness, if I had the option to remove the protector I think I would. But your mileage my vary.

The back case is pretty nice. It snapped on easily, but is such that it won't accidentally slip off. It has a little bit of a texture to it, so it's not too slippery. It's clearly built for the phone as the case has all the right holes in all the right places.

Next we have the hardware itself, which is actually on the heavier side. This might be due to the battery, or the materials it's made of. It's also slightly larger than a Galaxy S4, although the actual screen size is the same. The buttons for the Android OS are software buttons, so the extra size is not to account for that. But the heft isn't bad. But combined, as a guy that puts his phone in his pocket, I certainly know when I have it on me.

Speaker quality sounds fine to me, although I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, and I kept it at a reasonable volume. Streaming music to a Bluetooth device was just fine.

In regards to the battery, again, since I wasn't able to use this as a phone your mileage my vary, but I had excellent time per charge with this. With it checking for email and playing music and some videos I was able to get far per charge. But even with my standard phone I'm able to get pretty far with my devices, so

One quasi-major knock is that this can't connect to 5GHz wifi channels. It's odd for something like this to not have that capability at this point in time. But I suppose you get what you pay for.

On the plus side, it does support up to 64 GB of expandable storage, making it easy to throw audio and video files onto a MicroSD card, or take photos and video with the nice camera.

Now comes the tricky bit, which is Android. This ships with Android 5.x, which is the current version of the Android software. Androids runs extremely well on the device, with no real hiccups. Well, outside of some odd issues with responsiveness. Initially this was focused on the back button, which I'd have to press a number of times for it to respond. This wasn't an issue with the other software buttons like home or 'apps'/windows (third button). There is a tiny bit of something in the far upper right of the button which might be causing issues with this. I'll probably have to pull the protector off to verify, but pressing to the far left of the button doesn't work so I don't think that's completely it.

Otherwise it definitely has Android, and is an extremely clean install. Opera is the only application that was installed that I didn't expect to see, but that's definitely not a big deal.

It's also Windows and developer friendly. I was able to connect the phone via a USB cable to my computer and connect almost immediately, as well as enable developer mode and push Android apps to it without issue.

Thus far I haven't received any update notifications for Android, so I can't say how upgrade friendly this is, but being unlocked is a positive.

So overall this is a decent device. Since I can't talk to the phone's capabilities on wireless phone networks I can't give it the full five stars, but I can give the BLU Studio C 5.0-Inch Android Smartphone a very full four of five stars. Even if you were to use it as a cheap Android device / potential backup phone you'd get a good deal with this. The heft might turn away some people, but it feels like it's a quality product.

Just Got the phone today so far so good I'll update this review tomorrow when I have a chance to use it fully!!!! (6-15-15)
(6-16-15) So I unboxed this phone and its really nice. If you are coming from a 4.5" Screen phone this will add some( very little) weight to the phone because of the 3,000mAh Battery (will post about it after I test a day of the battery) Is Good So far. It Charged Up pretty Quick. The screen is nice and clear. The Back Cover is really good Sand Stone Feel. Speaker is really good it loud and clear, I don't know why people were saying "The Speaker Don't work good". Spec Wise this phone is really good it runs the newest version of Android out of the box (v.5.0/Android L(Lollipop)). It is a Dual Sim Phone so you can have one Carrier for text and talk and another on for internet. Or if you travel out of the country. WORKS On Metro PCs $50 service!!!!! Battery life is amazing (Used in the Mountains on a full charge) Sorry for the late update.
