Thanks for another great Customers Vote!

10:29 AM PST, December 5, 2008
We've just wrapped up our third year of Amazon Customers Vote. Thanks to all of you who participated! We had a great time offering all those ridiculous deals, and hope you had fun too.

The competition may be over, but the deals aren't. Our Top Holiday Deals page will feature steep savings and amazing deals from now through the end of the holiday season.

Thanks again for your participation, and thank you for being an Amazon customer. Happy holidays!

I have not got anything for Amazons 3 year parade of votes. Dont know how it works. Just wondering, is it for real or for publicity..

I was chosen & tried to add it to my cart the second it went on sale. But it told me not to refresh my browser while I waited in line for it. And after telling me that for 5 minutes. It said they were already sold out! So it doesn't matter if you're chosen & try to add it to your cart right away. Since Amazon obviously offers each item to many more customers than they have in stock. So whoever gets chosen with the fastest computers & Internet connections appear to have the best chance at getting it.

Amazon should just give each chosen person a code that will guarantee them a chance to buy it within one hour of it going on sale. Then let anyone else buy the remaining ones after that.

Thank you Amazon for the amazing deals. To Silent Reviewer and Computer Bob......this is for real, you must be ready to buy the second the item goes on sale and if you're using dial up, you need to upgrade to a faster connection.

I will continue to purchase from AMAZON throughout the year and can't wait for next year's voting!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

The way it's done needs to be changed. Everyone should be able to participate and it should be done first come, first serve.

Actually... I vote on all of them and I wasn't chosen on anything... So how true is this Customers Vote I'll never know. Is it real? I don't know... maybe... I don't think so.

don't defend Amazon just because you was chosen and won...
and don't bash Amazon just because you had no luck...

let's look at the facts...
- this is real, not scam.
- but the chance of winning is slim
- there are far more losers than the winners
- and even if you were chosen to participate, you might still get nothing. because Amazon picked more people than available units.
- Amazon calls this a "promotion" in their FAQ. (it seems like a sweepstakes to me though...)

let's face it, there are many problems. i don't know who is in charge of this, but if i was in charge, i could do a much better job. Amazon better improves a whole lot next year. In my opinion, a promotion should have a much greater chance of winning. Winning? Maybe this is not a appropriate word here... consumers shouldn't need to win a promotion... a promotion should be pretty much effortless....

Anyway, let's all forget about this and enjoy the holiday season!
