HAPPY SCHOOL YEAR!
1:01 AM PDT, September 19, 2006
September is here and school has begun. It's an exciting time for students and an exciting time for me too. Author visits are about to begin!
One of the things I love about being a writer is the opportunity to visit schools all over the world. This year I'll be visiting students in North Carolina, Mississippi, Missouri, California, and more. Maybe I'll meet YOU on my travels. I hope so! Summer was also exciting this year. My son graduated from college, my daughter was married, and my newest book, ROAR OF A SNORE, received a ***STARRED REVIEW*** from School Library Journal! My editor emailed me about it when I was a faculty member at the Oregon Coast Children's Book Writers Workshop. I was surrounded by other authors, an editor, and a book agent. They all understood how fabulous this was. What a wonderful celebration we had. Hip Hip Hooray!

Bio
I'm a late bloomer! I didn't start writing until I was in my late thirties. My children inspired me with their creativity and fun and so I began to write a local newspaper column, "homegrown treasures".
My first book, "Heart of a Tiger" is celebrating its eleventh year in print. I love that children and adults alike are inspired by the tiny kitten, Number Four, and his big dream for Naming Day. Two new books are out in 2006! "Hugs on the Wind" is published by Abrams and "Roar of a Snore" by Dial Books. It's fun to have a quiet book and a LOUD book in the same year. You can find out lots more about me and my books at my website: www.marshadianearnold.com. |
