3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but could be better, May 5, 2012

The G3 Leather Pouch Hoslter Case for the iPhone 3G is a nice looking case, but is not the best.

The best features - it has a detachable belt clip, looks and feels like a good quality product, and has a cover that snaps securely in place.

Unfortunately, the swivel feature of the belt clip feels flimsy when attached to your belt, and can rotate easily.

Without the belt clip, the case is still to large to carry in your pocket. The iPhone 3G also does not fit securely, allowing the phone to slide around inside the case.

The G3 Leather Pouch Hoslter Case is one of the few good cases I could find that included a belt clip, but I found the Leather flip skin case cover for Apple IPHONE 3G 3GS (without a belt clip) as a better option for the iPhone 3G.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, with a few surprises, May 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Logitech Cooling Pad N200 is a great usb-powered peripheral for laptops and netbooks. Despite reading the reviews, there are two things I didn't expect:

Size -

The Logitech Cooling Pad N200 is big. Look carefully through the product images shown under Features in the product description to see what I mean.

I purchased the cooling pad for a netbook as a more powerful option over the Targus AWE23US Stow-N-Go Chill Mat for Laptops up to 15.6 Inches (Black), and the cooling pad takes up a lot of room on a desk.

Noise -

There's a convenient switch attached to the USB cable with two speeds available. The first setting is nearly silent, and great for regular use. The second setting however is much louder than I expected from other descriptions, but has a very powerful fan speed. This setting is best used to quickly cool down an overheated computer when you're not using the cooling pad, then switch to the first setting to keep it cool.

Overall -

This is one of the best cooling pads that I've used. I also own the Cooler Master NotePal Ergostand Notebook Cooler R9-NBS-4UAK. Both are highly recommended, with the Logitech Cooling Pad N200 as a portable cooling pad, and the Cooler Master NotePal Ergostand Notebook Cooler R9-NBS-4UAK for a stationary laptop.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you like action, you'll like this movie (skip it if you don't)., March 21, 2011
This review is from: The Losers (DVD)
The Losers is an action movie with very little character development, and a ridiculous ending. In other words, it's a great movie (but only if your into that type of film). Sit back, don't think about it too much, and enjoy the ride.

2.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected (for an M. Night film), March 14, 2011
This review is from: Devil (DVD)
The main problem with this film is the title. Instead of being genuinely surprised by the turn of events in the film, you'll probably spend most of your time waiting for the title character to show up.

If you don't watch horror movies, are scared of the dark, have never seen a Hitchcock film, or are claustrophobic, you might find Devil to be somewhat scary. Otherwise, you will probably be bored with the numerous "lights go out and something strange happens" scenes.

The acting in Devil is good and the cinematography is great, but with the help of the narrator/security guard, the story quickly becomes laughable. Devil could have easily been a single, standalone episode on a show about the paranormal like Fringe or the X-Files, but as a full-length feature film, it lacks any real substance.

Don't expect Devil to be a horror film, have a good story, or be in any way believable, and you might like it. Keep your expectations low before watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great mouse, but use the right software!!, December 15, 2010
After going through 2 Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman mice (several years of use), I decided to take a chance and try a different trackball mouse. I'm glad I did. I didn't think that I would find a mouse as comfortable, and with as many configuration options as the Optical Trackman, but the Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse is a great alternative.

The Good:

The first thing you'll notice about the Marble Mouse is how comfortable and light it feels (for the left or right hand). Tapping the large left and right buttons feels more natural than with most mice. The mouse has two small buttons just above the large left-click and right-click buttons which can be configured to a variety of functions, or a hotkey. These buttons can be awkward to press at first, but become very convenient after awhile.

The Bad (read carefully!):

The SetPoint software (Logitech Control Center for the Mac) does not enable all of the mouse's functions. The mouse has been advertised as allowing you to scroll by first clicking both large left and right buttons together, then scrolling with the trackball. This cannot be enabled with the included software.

To enable all of the mouses features, download and install the older Mouseware software version 9.79 (do a search for Logitech Mouseware 9.79).

Be sure to uninstall any mouse drivers currently on your system before installing Mouseware. Once installed, you will be given the option of configuring the function of clicking the left and right buttons together (I recommend selecting Universal Scroll). All other button options can also be configured with Mouseware 9.79.

IMPORTANT: This mouse does NOT include a scroll wheel, but once all buttons are configured to enable scrolling, you'll find it hard to go back to a mouse that has one.

Overall:

The Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse is a great mouse at a great price. For a larger (more expensive) mouse with a few more configuration options, I highly recommend the Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bluetooth adapter. Use Widcomm software only., October 2, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This adapter is great for laptops and netbooks, particularly when stored in a case. The adapter fits snugly into a USB port (unlike the longer, thumb drive shaped adapters).

This adapter has a limited range, but picks up the bluetooth signal quickly on startup of the computer or external bluetooth device. Some trial and error is required to find the best software to use with the device. Try the included drivers first, then visit the Widcomm website and download the latest bluetooth software. Software other than Widcomm may cause problems or not work at all.

The IOGear Bluetooth Microadapter is the best choice at a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding horror in a historic setting. Highly recommended., September 30, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
In 33 A.D., the Roman Empire rules the bustling city of Jerusalem. Tension exists within the city between its inhabitants and the Roman soldiers that guard it. A growing number of people have started listening to an influential, yet unassuming man. Little is known about him, but his increasing number of followers is a threat to both the local religious leaders, and to the Empire's tenuous control of the city.

Amid what would soon become one of the most well known moments in history, a race of ancient vampires walks Jerusalem's streets after dark.

33 A.D. is an excellent example of vampire horror as it should be. Known as the Bachiyr, the vampires in 33 A.D. are more brutal and monstrous than the romanticized (and essentially human) Hollywood version. There's plenty of blood and gore as the story transitions between both human and vampire perspectives. A glimpse into the world of the Bachiyr is given, with the strong suggestion of a welcomed sequel.

The horrific events of 33 A.D. occur inline with biblical events giving weight to the story. At a great price for the Kindle, 33 A.D. is highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to the series. Recommended., September 7, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A Tear in the Sky is the third book of The Templar Chronicles series, and is an interesting continuation of the story. Knight Commander Cade Williams, a man both feared and respected within the mysterious Templar Order, is back with his elite Echo team fighting evil forces on behalf of the Vatican. Cade's own supernatural ability called The Sight has allowed him to travel into another realm called The Beyond in search of his wife Gabrielle.

Trapped in a state between life and death by a being called the Adversary, Gabrielle has appeared to Cade and his teammates previously, providing clues to find her in The Beyond. Cade's journey to both find Gabrielle and a missing and brutally tortured team member are central to the storyline of this book.

A Tear in the Sky is another great read in the series, but the ending was abrupt given that this seems to be the last of the Templar Chronicles. However, the story was yet another example of great writing. Hopefully, more books will be added to the series, but until then, enjoy the trilogy. Highly recommended.

Read the whole trilogy:

Book 1: The Heretic (The Templar Chronicles)

Book 2: A Scream of Angels (The Templar Chronicles)

5.0 out of 5 stars Second book of the Templar Chronicles, but even better., August 23, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A Scream of Angels is the perfect follow-up to the start of a great series - The Templar Chronicles. If you haven't read the first book titled "The Heretic", do yourself a favor and start there. A Scream of Angels is a great read on its own, but starting from the beginning of the series will give you the backstory about the main character, Commander Cade Williams of the mysterious Templar Order:

Book 1: The Heretic (The Templar Chronicles)

Cade's wife died tragically at the hands of a supernatural being called the Adversary, but despite her death, she continues to play a large role in his life. Cade's own unique abilities acquired from this same encounter have allowed him to follow his wife into another realm called The Beyond. His desperate hope to find her is both his strength and his weakness, and figures heavily in the main storyline - a mission to investigate an old military base in the desert. The first team sent to investigate was slaughtered by an unseen enemy, so the elite Echo team headed by Commander Williams is called into action.

The story takes on some interesting twists and turns, with plenty of mystery, horror, and action throughout. You won't be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but could have been great..., August 16, 2010

This review is from: The Walk (Kindle Edition)
The Walk has the makings of a great story - an ordinary man on an average day is forced into an extraordinary situation. Essentially, the world around him has been destroyed and he is left with a single goal, to get home to his wife. The man, Marty Slack, starts his long walk across an earthquake-ravaged Los Angeles, and finds his strength, will, and even sanity pushed to the limit.

The first two-thirds of the book have a definite "Richard Bachman" (also known as Stephen King) feel to the writing. The main character is not someone to be admired or seen as larger than life. Marty is a depressing and unlikeable man who only redeems himself when forced to do so.

The problem with The Walk is the simplistic and unrewarding ending. I can still recommend this book as a fun read for the price, but be prepared to agree with some of the more negative reviews.
