AmazonBasics Digital Kitchen Scale with LCD Display

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Easy to Use, Small, August 23, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
AmazonBasics' Digital Kitchen Scale is a great tool to have in your kitchen. While scales are great for baking, they are also good for other cooking or postage (as long as it will not be over 11 pounds).

The styling of the scale is very simple and nothing fussy. It's small and can easily slide into a drawer. It's size is perfect for a kitchen. The LCD screen is easily readable and can display results in ounces, grams, pounds, or kilograms. There are two buttons (Unit and Tare to adjust for container weight).

Overall, the weights were spot on. Design is very good. If there were a complaint, it would have been to put the AmazonBasics logo somewhere besides the front; maybe on the bottom. But that is a very small comment.

Bose SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones - Apple devices Charcoal
Bose SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones - Apple devices Charcoal

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fit, excellent sound, August 22, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Bose SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones (for Apple devices) deliver a clear, crisp sound in a very small package. The headphones just work and best of all, they stay in place. Very little hassle and great sound.

While I don't really consider myself to be an expert at sound quality (I'm the type that uses reasonably priced headphones), I'm very surprised at the output these headphones produce. I've experienced a few high quality headphones before and usually found them to be better but overpriced. The Bose SoundTrue, however, deliver not only great sound at a reasonable price but do so using the in-ear style of headphones.

The sound is crisp and the bass is deep but not overpowering. Environment noise is pretty well hidden as well. The headphones fit snugly in the ear without being uncomfortable. I tried all three sets of StayHear tips (small, medium, large) and settled on the medium. The fit was excellent and tips stayed in place while at my desk and also while moving around. The cord was a little stiff, but is not easily tangled.

Overall, you cannot beat the sound in this price range, nor the excellent fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loaded with features and a nice design, August 22, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Timex RediSet Dual Alarm Clock has plenty of features that you don't always see in other alarm clocks and offers a twist in the typical design. There are a couple of annoyances, but overall it's a quality clock that deserves a spot on your nightstand. Easily five stars.

This Timex alarm clock has a dual alarm, which is not something I use often. It's nice to have though. It also has a gradual alarm. A nifty feature I found was the nap timer. You can set a nap alarm without changing your typical alarm settings.

Having USB charging is another plus as it's something we all need or use and it's built into the clock. That, together with the nightlight make this clock better than your standard clock. The numbers are also large and easy to read. I realize these sound like small things, but they are nice features to see on an alarm clock.

The design and visual appeal is also a bit different. The clock is a bit thin, but tall. Most clocks tend to be flat. It's a difference that makes the clock feel more modern. However, it feels a little top heavy. The buttons are a bit hard to distinguish (rounded and designed to be more modern, but can be hard to find in the dark).

Overall, this alarm clock is a winner. Nice design and plenty of little extras and features.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, quick install, works perfectly, August 21, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Belkin's USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter (F4U047bt) is a quick and easy way to add an Ethernet connection to an ultrabook or other computer that does not have room for an Ethernet connection. Many laptops/ultrabooks today forgo the Ethernet connection in order to make their devices smaller.

Belkin's device is simple to use and installation was a snap. Most likely you will not need the included software CD as your device will likely have the drivers and you'll be ready to go, as was the case in my situation. Plug it in and within a few moments you are ready to go. It's small enough to throw in a briefcase and take with you when you travel. These are usually a necessity for IT folks as you never know when you need a hardwired connection.

For gigabit capabilities, get the Belkin USB 3 version. Otherwise, the USB 2 works fine as well.

George Foreman GFG240X Dual Surface Griddle + Grill, Ceramic
George Foreman GFG240X Dual Surface Griddle + Grill, Ceramic
Price: $54.46

4.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and large, August 15, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The George Foreman GFG240X Dual Surface Griddle + Grill is a versatile small kitchen appliance that offers plenty of space and tends to beat out griddles I have used in the past.

First, the cooking space is pretty large. I was surprised when the box showed up because it was fairly huge. There is definitely plenty of cooking space. On the flip side, however, you have to store this thing somewhere. I'm not going to lie, you will either need a large drawer/cabinet or leave it on your countertop. The plus is that you can easily cook breakfast or any other meal for multiple people.

Second, I love the versatility of the grill and griddle. I know it seems like a small feature, but it could be great to grill some meat or vegetables, then use the griddle for heating sides up. Grease does flow away from the food. Cleanup is very easy as well.

The one downside, besides size (which is also a positive) is the evenness of cooking. There were some spots that seemed cooler than others, but I've always found that on almost every griddle I've used. Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the GFG240X.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, nice long cord, August 8, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Belkin's Conserve Insight Energy Use Monitor offers an easy to use, quick, and full featured way to track energy use. There are many of these units on the market, but this is one of the easiest I've had the pleasure of using.

There is a nice, long power cord making it easy to monitor on almost any device. The numbers/screen are large and easy to read. Plus, the buttons are large. Compared to other devices, the readings were almost spot on, but honestly the long cord is something many other manufacturers leave out. Combine that with the Belkin name and quality, and I'd consider it a five star product. The build quality is good and tight.

Definitely worth the investment to determine potential energy savings throughout your home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality construction, super quiet, and comfortable, August 1, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Leggett & Platt’s Signature Adjustable Platform Base has been a delight. While never personally owning an adjustable bed, I’ve always considered purchasing one. I have, however, tested many out and been around others that own them. Thankfully I recently purchased a mattress a few months ago and it was definitely compatible with adjustable bases.

It’s important to note that installing this platform is not a one man job. It’s heavy and as expected it comes in a large box. You should definitely plan to have some help getting this moved in and properly setup. For me, that moving it up a flight of stairs. Not easy, but again, have yourself some assistance.

It was worth the effort, though, as I’ve been extremely pleased and impressed. The motor has a good amount of lifting capacity and it handles weight with ease. It is smooth moves up and down fairly quick. Best of all, it’s quiet. Among the quietest I have heard.

If there is one thing that is unmistakable, it’s that this product is made of quality materials and produced with care. The upholstery, metals, everything is made well. After almost a month of use and you don’t hear any squeaks or noises. Even the remote feels nice. The remote control is simple to use (easy to remember which button is which without looking at the remote). Large buttons, so even in the dark you can use. But, it’s also backlit, so that’s a plus.

As someone that has issues with heartburn/indigestion and other stomach issues, I look forward to many more years of use out of this bed platform. Being able to raise the head is extremely important and has been a relief.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of charging capacity, quality build, July 20, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Monoprice's 16,000 mAh Portable Charger gives you enough charging power not only in a pinch, but enough to recharge devices over and over for an extended period of time.

The Charger comes in a non-retail packaging, so it is a simple cardboard box with the charger and USB cable inside. No need to worry about having to cut through typical plastic packaging, but keep that in mind if ordering as a gift. Like many other portable chargers, a wall charger is not included (but you can use other USB wall chargers or a powered USB hub or computer, keeping in mind that the type of charger will effect the recharge time).

At 16,000 mAh, the unit can be considered somewhat heavy, but keep in mind the amount of charging you are getting out of this unit. Consider a smaller one, if that is a concern. However, the unit is sturdy and appears to be built to last. I have been able to charge multiple devices and still have plenty of power left in the portable charger. There are two charging ports, which is sufficient for most cases.

Overall, this a great unit. Plenty of charging capacity and a quality build. It should definitely be a consideration for you, especially if you are looking for a unit that can provide plenty of charging. At 16,000 mAh, you'll have plenty of power for multiple phones or tablets, or use it to charge devices many times over an extended trip.

Crescent DB18X 18-Inch Indexing Flat Pry bar, Red/Black
Crescent DB18X 18-Inch Indexing Flat Pry bar, Red/Black
Price: $26.91

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and versatile, July 18, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Crescent DB18X Flat Pry Bar is not your typical pry bar. With an indexing and lockable head, striking surface, and tough grip, it gets the job done. There are many reasons to like this tool.

While the positional head seems like a gimmick at first, you soon find out that it comes in handy. Not all of the 180 degrees will be for everybody, but the various angles give you some great control over prying items apart, pulling nails out, or countless other activities. Best of all, the locking positions are very sturdy.

The tool is tough. Yet, the grip is comfortable and gives you plenty of control. There is also a great striking surface when more power to loosen something is needed. My only complaint is that after many strikes the locking mechanism seems a bit more loose than what it was. So I have some concerns about long term use when a lot of striking is required.

Overall, this is a handy tool to have around. Good quality and very versatile.

Preen Garden Weed Preventer - 5.6 lb. 2463795
Price: $13.97

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for making sure weeds stay away, July 15, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Preen's Weed Preventer is an excellent product. They have a couple of variations, but I've used their products for a long time and always been happy with the results. Depending on the size of the area you plan to treat, there are multiple sizes. The smaller 5.6lb version comes in an easy to use bottle with a spout on the end for spreading.

While Preen's Weed Preventer will not kill existing weeds, it's great at preventing new ones. Early in the Spring, after weeding and cleaning, it's a good idea to put Preen's down. Then follow up with another application about three months later. It's easy to apply. Like I said, the 5.6lb version has a spout to spread it easily. Otherwise, you can get larger containers and use a spreader or small gardening tool to apply it (or the larger ones often come with a scoop).

I use Preen every year and stand behind it. It's well worth the money and the time (even though it takes very little time to apply).
