OXO Good Grips 6-1/2-Inch Santoku Knife
OXO Good Grips 6-1/2-Inch Santoku Knife
Price: $14.19
3 used & new from $12.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cutting, comfortable handle, September 9, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The OXO Good Grips 6.5" Santoku knife is good cutting knife that has some useful features, but is unfortunately a bit short for my liking. First, I really do like the handles on these knives. They have an excellent grip that has some give to them that really keeps your hand comfortable when doing a bunch of cutting.

The blade is sharp and appears withstand some tough cutting chores. However, it feels a bit short as far as the blade goes. That might be typical for these types of knives. The curve to the blade, though, really helps to cut cleanly and thoroughly. Hard vegetables are a snap with this knife.

The cutting ability is very good and it feels comfortable. I love the lightweight feel of it, but I'm not sure it will replace some of go-to blades. Overall, it's a great choice that is priced fairly offering a good quality blade and handle under the Oxo brand name.

5.0 out of 5 stars Functionality and Great Features in a Small, Thin Package, September 6, 2014
The Type Cover 2 is an excellent rendition on the Type Cover series for Surface devices. If you used the first version, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the second version. The Type Cover 2 is durable, functional, and very useful.

It's hard to imagine a backlit and response keyboard being packed into a thin and light accessory. But, the keys are great and the added backlit capability takes the Surface 2 and turns into a productive type of device. The trackpad is useful, but is somewhat small and not as responsive as one on a laptop. The majority of the keys are full size, although the arrow keys are a bit close and packed in.

When closed, the Type Cover 2 protects the screen of the Surface and the outer side of the cover has a nice, soft feel. It contrasts against the silver finish of the Surface nicely, no matter what color of cover you choose. I prefer the Cyan version, but the other colors are nice, too. The darker colors tend to show wear more than the lighter colors, as is the case with black. The keys tend to show oil from your fingers more than the other colors, but it still wears fine.

The hinge is very durable. I use the Surface 2 on a daily basis and the cover is constantly opened and closed and bent back behind the Surface 2 when the keyboard isn't needed. I haven't experienced any fraying or noticeable wear. When the Type Cover is behind the device and not in use, the keys are not active. As soon as you bring the cover back around the keys become active again.

Personally, I use the Surface 2 and Type Cover 2 without an additional case. It might leave the rear of the device open to scratches, but both the Surface 2 and Type Cover 2 have held up really well. The Type cover protects the screen. I carry it around to meetings, on trips, and to bed on a daily basis and have loved every minute of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent accessory for your Surface Pro 3, September 6, 2014
I purchased the Surface Pro 3 shortly after it came out and loved the device, which kept me begging that the Pro 3 Docking Station would get released. Once it did, I immediately purchased it. The Surface Pro 3 is an excellent device and the docking station really makes it a complete package.

The docking station is very well made, sturdy, and follows the design and characteristics of the Surface itself. First, the design. The angles compliment the Surface Pro 3. Everything about the docking station gives it a professional look and feel. It looks great sitting on the desk (and by the way, is one of the few docking stations I have actually put on my desk). I tend to put docking stations and laptops out of the way and out of sight. But being able to use the Surface Pro 3's touchscreen and writing capabilities made me want to keep it in sight. The only part you want to hide are the cables, but some straps or other methods can easily take care of that for you.

The "catch and release" of the docking station is great. Slide the Surface Pro 3 down on the dock. There is a lip on the bottom of the dock that catches the device. Then slide the sides of the dock in and you are set. No need to plug in additional cables. With the dock closed against the Surface Pro 3, it is firmly in place. The type cover can then be lowered and used. You cannot detach/attach the type cover once you have it in the dock.

I have my dock connected to Ethernet, power (obviously), USB devices, and two monitors (daisy chained using the mini displayport connector on the back of the dock). I have mine connected to two Dell U2414H monitors. You can also choose to use the mini displayport connector on the Surface Pro 3 itself. The dock keeps the ports on the Surface Pro 3 itself open and available to use. It's also slanted, so you can easily continue to use the Surface Pro 3's touchscreen or easily write on it with the stylus.

The Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is an excellent accessory for your Pro 3 device. It's elegant, well designed, functional, and for many business users it is a necessity. It's a little more expensive than standard USB docking stations, but the design and functionality of the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station make up for the cost.

OXO Good Grips Professional 8-Inch Slicing Knife

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable Handle and Excellent Cutting Ability, September 6, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is my first OXO branded knife and I have to say that I'm impressed. OXO's Good Grips Professional 8-Inch Slicing Knife features a great handle and excellent cutting ability.

First impressions were all good. I loved the handle, it's soft and has a strong grip. Whether you are cutting a few pieces of meat or using it for a large holiday meal, the handle will keep your hands from getting worn out. I was also impressed by the weight. The knife isn't heavy, it's nice and light, as well as easy to maneuver.

The cutting capability of the OXO slicing knife is top notch. I've used it on chicken and roast so far and it has been one of the better slicing knives I've used. The length is perfect for long cuts and slicing through meat in one stroke in many cases. While I can't speak for its long-term cutting ability, initially it is performing very well.

Overall, this is an excellent knife. Not only does it have a great cutting ability, but the handle alone is a huge selling point and will have me looking at more OXO knives.

After installing some GE zwave dimmers in my home, I needed to look at alternative light bulbs that could be dimmed. The Philips 424381 A19 LED Light Bulb was one of the contenders and it has more than exceeded expectations.

The Philips A19 Bulb appears to be brighter than the CFL bulb it replaced. I've had the A19 going with the dimmers for three months now without an issue. The design is very sleek and the light output is very good. The light is not too direct and disperses very well. Unless you actually look under the lamp shade you wouldn't be able to tell that this wasn't a standard incandescent bulb. The light output, color, and overall design is much better than CFLs I have used. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid and great looking, could be improved though, September 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I like the looks of this stamp dispenser. Most other dispensers are cheap looking, but this one is pewter, solid, and nice looking. It can be a little tight to hold a roll of 100 stamps. After you use 15 or 20 stamps it then works really well. It would have been nice if it were just a little bit larger. Also, you can't keep it closed. If it had a clasp or something, especially with a full roll of stamps, it would work perfectly. I usually have to add a piece of tape to keep it closed and that doesn't usually hold all that well.

Overall, great looks and it is practical. It has a couple of flaws, but still beats most stamp dispensers.

Rampage 501001 LED Clip On Light

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Light that can be used in many situations, September 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This Rampage LED Clip On Light is a good option for those without lights in their car or if you are looking for a little extra light. The brightness is pretty decent. I would like it if it produced a little more light, but it still does a good job. The clip is very strong, almost too strong. Be careful about attaching it to some fabrics and materials, as it is a very tight clip with sharp edges.

The angle is easily adjustable and swivels to almost any angle/degree. Great for cars, but could have many more uses as you can clip it to almost anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great memory for your PowerEdge 2850, September 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had some bad memory in a Dell PowerEdge 2850 and was searching for some replacements. Rather than spend the same price on 1-2 chips, this set of 4 not only replaced the bad memory but gave a much needed upgrade and increase in memory for me. Received the memory quickly and well packaged. I've purchased this a couple of times now not only for replacing bad memory but also to give a little more life in some 2850's that had less memory. Definitely recommended.
