4.0 out of 5 stars Letting Go and Letting God, October 22, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Stasi Eldridge writes a poignant memoir of sorts about her battles with weight, low self esteem, and worthlessness. In a very clearly Christian message she points to God as the healer of these potentially dangerous problems. Composed in beautiful prose this book infuses the reader with hope and promise.

Recommended if you are dealing with any issue that is troubling you as a woman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Learning Tool, October 12, 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The bright yellow face of the lion with big eyes and orange nose attracts the baby toddler to play and discover. "The Fisher Price Lion Walker" includes 8 different activities with music and mirror keeping him/her in a trance while aiding their coordination . Once their legs are ready to alight into walking the lion is ready with a sturdy green grip that enhances balance and skill. The blue wheels turn easily guiding the darling around the room. Fisher Price has a reputation for durable toys and this lives up to their credo. Just love the colorful display as will your little one.

Great toy to give a gift!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy Item for a Night Out to Dinner, October 12, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I always feel sorry for waitresses when toddlers leave behind their dinners scattered all about the table. Items stuck everywhere. With the "Fisher Price On the Go Placemat" this dilemma is avoided by the mat being suctioned to the table, collecting all the crumbs and "gooeys." It can be easily doubled over to clean when arriving home. Also you are assured of a sanitary place for your little one to eat their meals on. Green is a pleasant color and it is easy to clean. Fits easily into purses or diaper bags.

Nice, efficient gift for baby showers and gifts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch Out for Pirates, October 12, 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This sturdy, brightly painted, well planned pirate ship brings out the imaginations of little ones. Once constructed(some work for parents in assembly) you have a ship accompanied by pirate figurines that make it fun to be little scavengers. I purchased Halloween pirate costumes so that the boys can be dressed for their fun time as well. It is heavy duty WOOD so would fit best in a playroom where as the kids grow the fun does too. This toy would be a hand me down item or turned into a bookshelf as your pirates grow into wanting to discover even more about the scoundrels.

Wonderful gift to alight imagination and guile.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not nutty for these nuts, September 3, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I enjoy almonds blanched, enjoy them slivered, and like them in vegetable dishes and whole for snacking. Almonds are on a high meter for good health. However, I found "David's Almonds" with dark chocolate mostly unpleasant. Extremely hard and dry, the chocolate base was like dust that choked my throat. I managed to get few down, but couldn't make myself eat the entire bag. I feel badly having to give a less than stellar review, but I must be honest. A shame as I really love this company's sunflower seeds.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Always Trust Fisher Price For Quality, August 2, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Oh, I just love this sweet baby elephant that lights up in soothing blue, green, red, lavender etc. A very gentle array of tunes play to soothe baby to sleep as well as increase his/her auditory skills. A firm handle keeps this alight on a crib, bassinet, or door handle in the room. Not large so easy to bring along on trips. The elephant is white, with a red ear, pink cheek and eye of black. The base is green with a purple butterfly button that you press for music and lights. Music and white noise are guaranteed to play for 30 minutes so baby can listen without having the stopping jarring him/her from falling off to sleep.

Lovely product, sturdily built, that adds balance to baby's and Mom/Dad's world.

5.0 out of 5 stars What's Not to Like?, July 30, 2013
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I could not resist this wonderful bib. "OXO Tot Bib" is so clever....green colored cloth material on top that stops the "her comes the train" food ending up on you or baby. The catch-all, a bit darker green, guarantees time off your knees cleaning up the usual disaster that awaits prior to feedings. If that is not enough, for easy hauling, you wrap up the top into the round circle, snap it and go. So needed and I think waiters and waitresses around the country will thank-you profusely for not leaving a "souvenir" of your child's visit.

Practical, durable, and time saving, I highly recommend the "OXO Tot Bib."

4.0 out of 5 stars "Hi, I am Princess Sparkle", July 28, 2013
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

Young girls everywhere will be greeted by the prettiest pony around. A delicious purple, she has wings of turquoise and her breastplate and headband are a warm, welcoming yellow. On her back flank is a star like button that allows her to talk, sing sweetly, twinkle, and move, in brilliant colors that glow brightly. Her large doe like eyes move as do her wings and hooves. Barrettes and comb are provided to decorate her long, silky tail. Who wouldn't have fun with this beautiful toy?

I like it a lot and look forward to youngsters playing with her daily.(oaky, okay, I love her too but I am little past the recommended age of 3 AND OVER! I am pretty sure, "My Little Pony, Princess Twilight Sparkle" wishes to reside with a 3-8 year old that can love her truly.)

Lovely product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Brilliant Offering by Ivan Doig, July 28, 2013
This review is from: Sweet Thunder: A Novel (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Morrie Morgan, from two previous novels, "The Whistling Season" and "Work Song" is back in another saga with Butte mining in 1920. The company, Anaconda, which pays nearly no taxes but earns 20 million each year, demeans it's miners in every way possible. Taxes fall on the property owners of the shacks provided by Anaconda. Morrie and his wife, Grace, believe in the miner's rights. Returning from their year honeymoon abroad, they find that they are now the proprietors of a great mansion owned by "Sandison" the abiding librarian of "The Butte Public Library." Also, Morrie becomes the editorial mouthpiece for the pro miner paper, "Sweet Thunder." These two events are cataclysmic to their lives in many diverse and action-packed ways.

Ivan Doig reigns in my personal library as one of the finest writers ever. His words are like the color-soaked paintbrush bringing alive his worlds with astounding descriptions and prose that stirs the soul. Maybe a bit verbose, I learn so many words origins and meanings through my perusing his offerings.(The man is extremely well read) I come away with a deep, sincere sense of how hard those that went before me lived and worked the land of the Treasure State. Characters are a strong point to Mr. Doig's elegance in prose tugging away at the reader's heart strings or tempering them.

Superb book!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4/1/2 Stars Actually, July 18, 2013
This review is from: You Are One of Them (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Sarah Zuckerman, one, loses her her four year old sister to meningitis along with her father who returns to England when his grieving wife immerses herself in the protesting of nuclear disarmament. In 1982 the Cold War is rampant and Sarah feels lonely, afraid and full of despair. UNTIL, Jennifer Jones, a seemingly happy little girl with an adoring, attentive mother and father moves next door. The girls become fast friends; they do everything together and the Jones's are like foster parents to downtrodden Sarah. She, in her brooding at 10, decides to write a letter to the leader of Russia asking Yuri Andropov to not nuke America. Jenny decides she might as well too. When the Soviet premier receives the letters he returns one to Jennifer asking her to come with her parents for a two week visit. Media throngs the Jones putting Jenny on display. During one of her speaking tours back in America she and her parents are tragically killed in a plane crash.

Sarah mourns. Ten years later Sarah has graduated from college and receives a mysterious email from the Russian girl, Svetlana, who was 10 year old Jennifer's touring companion. Svetlana intimates that Jennifer might not be dead and encourages Sarah to come to Russia immediately. A fascinating mystery ensues that grips the reader TIGHTLY!!!

From the moment I began the book to the end I was hooked. The descriptions of Jenny and Sarah's young relationship is covered touchingly in Part One and Part Two teases the reader into the conspiracy plot that Sarah finds in Russia. Her views of 1995 Russia is mournfully descriptive, mainly of doom and gloom and a country falling apart at the seams with very angry, drunken citizens. Sarah's adventure there will not soon leave my mind as it shivered with perceived possibilities and deceptions.

I awarded 4/1/2 stars only to give this author 1/2 to grow on as the writing is fluid, engaging, and spell binding at moments. Wonderful read; I envy those reading it for the first time. I learned so much 1990's Russian background. A book that entertains while educating is a gem and this one sparkles brightly and darkly at once. Quite a feat!!

Well done, Elliot Holt!
