5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic romance complete with a handsome prince, July 23, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Royally Lost (Kindle Edition)
Royally Lost by Angie Stanton follows Becca an American teenager who is on a riverboat cruise in Europe with her parents and Nikolai a prince who has run away because of disagreements he is having with his parents. When the two meet they have an instant attraction but Nikolai has to hide from the people looking for him and they both know that the vacation will end soon.

I adored this book. It's a perfect teen chic lit book and a great summer read. It's got a fantastic location and a handsome prince. Becca is a typical teen, annoyed by the old person vacation through historic Europe her parents have dragged her on which was a bit irritating for me as an adult but totally relate-able for any teen who has been forced to go on an unwanted vacation with their parents. Nickolai is the perfect handsome prince that every girl wishes she could find. I found myself reading this book at any opportunity. It reminded me of the romcom The Prince and Me (that I watch at every opportunity).

Appropriateness: There's no adult content in this book. There's quite a bit of lying to parents but besides that the teens are all great kids. The couple does go swimming in their underwear at one point but it's not sexual. The romance is fairly tame but the main point of the book. I recommend this book to readers 13+ and it is appropriate for younger readers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scented tampons -- no thanks, July 23, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I understand scented pads, tampons don't need to be scented. They reek coming out of the package and I'd hate to find out how that scent reacts to my neither regions.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Tease is a new book in the Ivy Chronicles series. This is a great read, romantic and mature (but not too mature). It's a great book for adult fans of YA who wouldn't mind a little more action with their lead couple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meets or exceeds our required Key Performance Parameters and System Attributes, July 23, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
When purchasing high volume multifunction machines for our offices we assess the following key performance parameters through a test deployment:

Speed. We examine how fast the machine prints both small jobs and large jobs. This MFP M476dw did both small jobs and large jobs fast. It achieves 21 pages per minute on larger jobs, both in color and grayscale. On smaller jobs, the warm-up and start-up adds to that ppm, but it isn't any worse than any other comparable laser printer.

Usability (including set-up). We evaluate how hard it is both to support the machine and for users to operate it. The MFP M476dw was easy to set up on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines. We don't use anything non-Windows machines, but the HP Support site offers drivers for all versions of Windows, Mac OS X, and even Unix. Our users had no problem setting this up themselves for use on the wired network. A few also used the USB printing and printing from iOS and Android mobile devices, both on the network and using the Wireless Direct feature and Apple Air Touch. The touch screen is very clear, well laid out, and easy to navigate through.

Output Quality (including scans and copies). We look at the print quality, how the copies turn out, and how clear digital scans are. Printing, scanning, and copying all work very well on this machine. They are all very clear, vibrant, and crisp. Their resolution claims of 600 x 600 are not only accurate in terms of the driver, but also looks comparable to other 600 x 600 documents printed on other machines, including a commercial press. The machine supports the typical variety of paper sizes, and types of stock. Scanning goes all the way up to 1200 x 1200, however the file size becomes ridiculous at that resolution.

Reliability (including availability). Reliability, availability, and maintainability by users are all very good on this machine. We've yet to have a jam in the printer or the single pass ADF scanner, frequently using both in Duplex mode. Although we haven't had to replace the starter toners that came with it yet, we know from initial installation that this is simple and easy on this machine.

Cost (including operation and maintenance. The upfront cost and the per sheet cost for this machine is pretty typical of color laser multi-function printers of this size. The print capacity of the toner drums is lower than many machines like this, but the price is also lower. The 4400 pages of B&W yield and 2700 pages of color yield is adequate for most small or even medium offices, as long as you don't mind changing the cartridges somewhat frequently.

We also look at these additional system attributes.

Weight, size, and footprint. For its speed and capacity, this machine is comparable in size, weight (64 lbs), and footprint to most other color laser MFPs.

Connectivity options. This machine has the wired and wireless printing protocols that are typical of new machines in this price range. Airprint, Wireless Direct, and the HP app methods of printing all worked consistently and were easy to operate.

Warranty and support. HP has always provided us very good warranty and software support for its machines. The wide array of software and drivers that are available to for this machine on the HP Support website, makes us think that they will continue that tradition with this machine.

Duplex. Scanning duplex on this machine is single pass, meaning it has a camera on both sides of the paper. Duplex printing uses the rerouting method, but it works without issue, and we haven't had a single jam, despite using cheap paper.

The bottom line is that this is a 5 star MFP. It does everything we've asked of it, at a reasonable price, and typical per sheet cost. It prints and scans quickly, clearly, and without hassles or down time. We recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent recounting of Brazil's transformation, July 23, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is an excellent recounting of Brazil's miraculous transformation. The story is fascinating, instructive, and well told. I highly recommend the book and found that it really opens your mind to what is possible with the right foundation. My only word of caution is to remember that ideas that work in one place will not necessarily work in another place and time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good way to prepare for the exam, but not much of a textbook, July 23, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
If you are already very experienced in CCNA Routing and Switching and just need a way to study for the exam, this book is exactly what you need. If you are looking for a textbook or a guidebook that will guide you through procedures and teach you, this isn't the best choice.
