5.0 out of 5 stars Great duffel, November 15, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this duffell because I was tired of walking to two bags to work, my regular purse and a separate bag for my lunch and magazines. This duffel is perfect. I can comfortably fit all my junk and it's easy to carry. There's a shoulder strap with a leather pad so that the strap doesn't dig into my shoulder. You can also drape it from you elbow using the shorter handles. It's good quality and looks exactly as described by the seller.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book was awful . . . I'll just re-read book 1, April 11, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love NOTW. I recommended it to friends and re-read it constantly. I was expecting to like this book so much that I bought two copies, one for my bookshelf and the kindle edition to walk around with. I wasted my money.

The entire novel was pointless. Kvothe fights with Ambrose, travels, learns a board game, travels, learns to hunt, travels, kills some people, travels, has sex, travels, learns tai chi, travels, returns to the university. Pointless.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty to look at, but poor quality, July 9, 2010
I bought this fan because I wanted something to circulate the air in my living room that would fit with the decor. It's a beautiful fan, but three weeks after purchase it fell apart (literally). The stand fell off of the base. Apparently, the outside was all shiny and new, but the fixtures inside the stand and base were rusted so it broke apart.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FAN.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get a refund for my purchase because I threw away the box and the receipt.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great action, but heavy on the philosophical crap, February 12, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great characters, exciting storylines, but too much BS about the power of love, faith, forgiveness, numerology, yada, yada, yada. I had to skip paragraphs, and once in awhile entire pages, to get to the good stuff.

Banks needs to eliminate the extra long and shallow discussions on philosophy and religion. It's boring, repetitive and she fails miserably at trying to be "deep".

This series started of promising and peaked at the the 4th book, The Hunted. Every book since then has become more and more disappointing. In the future, I'll wait until the books hit the library shelves and save myself the expense.

It's a shame. Banks has a great imagination. She just needs to stop preaching, and preaching, and preaching, and preaching, and preaching. . .

3.0 out of 5 stars How to ruin a perfectly good series, July 18, 2006
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
L.A. Banks is losing her touch.

She created a series with amazing characters and compelling stories and screws it up by inserting mumbo jumbo about numerology, religion and love.

This would've been a great book if someone had taken the time to edit out the BS and let the story shine through.

PS . . . I hate how she ended the book. Guess she's too afraid to shake things up.

3.0 out of 5 stars Banks is starting to fizzle, January 30, 2006
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book would've been great if Banks had just stuck to the action and conflicts. Too much time is spent discussing philosophy, religion, love, history, etc., and the discussions aren't that enlightening or phenomenal. Actually, a lot of it's just plain annoying and repetitive.

The great moments in the book are few and far between. Maybe if I hadn't read all of the previous books, and didn't know what this author's capable of (have you read The Bitten, wow!!), I'd be less disappointed.

Read it if you've already grown addicted to the series and the characters. There are a few moments that are great.
