1.0 out of 5 stars Not even close..., May 10, 2014
I don't know why it's so hard to mimic the scent of leather, since it's just the chemicals used to dye leather that smell. But this freshener doesn't smell even remotely like leather, of any kind. It smells more like cinnamon combined with soap. It's not bad, it just nothing like leather. At all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value!, September 2, 2013
The LiteTrek kit seems to be on sale these days, and priced at $550, it's a great value. After charging up the battery, it was up and running in matter of minutes. Everything is fairly straightforward to connect and the strobe's controls are intuitive for manual operation. I only needed to refer to the manual to understand the multi-flash mode. I used it on an outdoor shoot and it never failed to fire. I shot a few hundred photos and I don't think the battery indicator lowered at all. The reflector has a hole for an umbrella and the lamp mount also has a corresponding umbrella hole. Once you start accumulating lighting gear, you'll appreciate having cases to store and carry all the parts. The aluminum case is nice.

If you're on a budget, you can't beat this kit! I don't see any reason it wouldn't last a LONG time with proper care. If you're in the field every day or the light is being used by many people (students, gaffers, grips or assistants), you might want to buy or build a beefier kit, but expect to pay A LOT more. For a solo photographer, this kit is a slam dunk winner.

OK, so somewhere between being in a coma with his neocortex shut down and waking up (with an intact neocortex), this man's infected brain concocts a dream (and not a very good one). Proof of heaven? No.

5.0 out of 5 stars OEM quality at 20% of the cost..., December 7, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This filter adapter and hood are top-quality metal components that are built to a level on-par with this great camera. I would say that the metal is very slightly darker in color, but still looks like it belongs on the camera. It would be foolish to purchase the $99 Fuji filter and hood when this one is available. Please remember to unscrew the camera's lens ring before attempting to attach the filter ring. There are instructions with the kit that explain this, but they're on a tiny slip of paper and might be missed. As most reviewers (of both the OEM kit and this one) point out, you may want to remove the hood if you're using the flash indoors as it may be create a shadow on your subjects, but even Fuji mentions this in their manual and frankly, it's common with any DSLR that uses a hooded lens and the on-camera filter. And true, you can't use your Fuji slip on lens cap with the hood or even without it (it doesn't fit tightly). I am able to put the camera into the leather case and close it without the cap on, so there is that for protection. For $20, you cannot go wrong buying this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get a grip - this one..., November 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The genuine AH-4 grip is expensive compared with the knock-offs, but the quality is top notch. I use the hand grip with a extended body camera (D7000 with battery grip), and it provides a comfortable, secure way to carry the camera without fear of dropping it. The attachment plate on the bottom has a metal threaded hole, so you don't have to remove the strap to put it on a tripod or monopod. In fact, I've attached a Manfrotto quick release plate there so I can make a quick connection to a tripod head or my Black Rapid strap. I don't know why these are relatively hard to find, but I'm glad I found one here on Amazon and got it when I did.

2.0 out of 5 stars Perfect except for one fatal flaw..., November 7, 2012
The Vello snap-on LCD protector is very well made and nicely packaged. It fits perfectly onto the eyepiece and over the LCD screen of the D7000. It looks great on the camera and the view through the LCD screen is razor sharp. I would have given it five stars if I never held the camera up to my eye. Therein lies the problem -- the protector clips onto the naked eyepiece of the viewfinder and has a bit of extension so that you can clip on the camera's supplied eyecup shield. Doing so pushes your eye far enough out of the viewfinder that you can't see any of the information displayed at the bottom. Consider it viewfinder vignetting. In order to read your info display in the viewfinder, you have to move your head/eye up, which causes the shroud to block the top part of the viewfinder. That kills it for me (an eyeglass wearer). I can't be bobbing my head around trying to frame a shot. Maybe if you don't wear eyeglasses or only shoot in Auto mode, you'll like the screen protector. It's a product going right back for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ill-fitting. You get what you pay for..., November 3, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have the two-ring AF/D version of the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 lens and this hood, while attractive and reasonably priced compared to the mundane (and expensive) Nikon HB-7, isn't a good value. The lens, as you may know, as three openings or slots in the lens barrel to accept a hood, and the hood can be turned left or right to lock. That means there are six different orientations for the hood (and they aren't all the same as you might think). Unlike the uniformly shaped HB-7, the Fotodiox has a tulip shape with longer and shorter "petals". Of the six possible positions, there is only one that will allow the longer petals to sit at the top and bottom as they should be. That way is to turn the label side down, so "Fotodiox for Nikon" appears at the bottom. That'll get you the hood on the lens as best as possible, but once on, you'll also notice quite a bit of daylight between the hood and the lens at the end. It just doesn't come close to the quality of the OEM hood. Maybe others have had better luck using a different generation of the 80-200, but not me. Sadly, this one is going back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for yourself or a whiskey lover., April 11, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Teroforma Whisky Lover Set
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this set, from the packaging to the products themselves. The glasses are distinctively shaped and perfect for your favorite dram of whiskey. Plenty of room to let the whiskey breathe and the weight and size of the glasses lets them fit perfectly in your hand. Each glass is handmade and hand-polished using a compound that is usually reserved for optical lenses. Despite their unique appearance, the glasses are made to be used and are dishwasher safe. I like the fact that one narrows from top to bottom its mate widens from top to bottom.

The outer box is sturdy and well-designed and the interior is organized into compartments. The glasses are isolated from each other and the stones are packed in a muslim bag. It's not Apple(tm) packaging, but it's pretty darn close. I would be proud to offer this package as a gift.

The sipping stones are typical soapstone affairs, meant to slightly chill the whiskey and, quite honestly, they perform as well as any others. As many people point out, sipping stones are not ice cubes -- you wouldn't use them to keep iced tea cold on a hot summer day. They're really meant to lower the whiskey's temp below room temperature and not much more. As such, they do their job quite well and add a unique flair to your serving presentation. They impart NO flavor of their own. I tested this by "washing" one stone in water and tasting the wash, by using the stone with my favorite single-malt and by putting a fresh out-of-the-box stone directly in my mouth. No flavor - period. After about 4 hours in the freezer, I found that two stones would drop the temperature of a double shot of Scotch about 6.5ºF. I expect the change would be affected by the ambient temp of the whiskey, the amount poured, and the alcohol content of the drink. Are they a necessity? Probably not -- I think of them more as a useful novelty.

The stones in this set are 22mm square, which is about 7/8". I fit three into each of the Teroforma (Avva) glasses. They are soft stones and won't scratch your glasses. With flat sides, when wet, the stones merely slide in the glass (quite slowly due to surface tension). There is no risk that they'll leap out of the glass and hit your teeth -- they stay on the bottom.

Without a doubt, I am abundantly satisfied with this set and plan to buy more to pass out to friends and family as gifts on the holidays.

It's hard to get TOO excited about heat shrink wrap, but this pack is a great value -- you get six sizes of shrink tubing that range (unheated) from 2mm on up - great for a single wire up to a bundle, all in 6" lengths. Shipping was fast, so no worries ordering from an Amazon affiliate. Compared to the stuff I bought at Radio Shack, the quality is the same and I got four times as much for less than half the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scope - saved me a bundle..., March 4, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I own a few Bosch tools and they never disappoint. This optical scope is no exception. I used it mostly when working on the car, installing stereos and lighting. This week, I used it to look down the A/C duct in my car to find the source of a fan buzz -- sure enough, in living color, I saw that a pepple had worked its way into the blower drum. Paid for itself in that one use. You'll find all sorts of uses for this scope. The camera is sharp, the LED light is bright, and the thing keeps a charge a LONG time, which is impressive considering the RECHARGEABLE battery only takes 30 minutes to charge. The shaft is very rigid, which is actually good because you can shape the shaft and it will hold. Oh, before I forget, you also get some "attachments" that can make the scope more useful: a mirror, a hook and a magnet. All that in a sturdy, but oversized, carry case. Don't mess around with non rechargeable batteries. This scope is made for pros and priced for amateurs. You'll wonder how you got along without it - seriously!
