3.0 out of 5 stars Fair model, but I expected better for the price..., March 30, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently purchased the Daron Skymarks Delta 737 and was really impressed with the quality, which inspired me to purchase this aircraft. Unfortunately, the quality of this one was nowhere near that of the 737. Although the fuselage paint was decent, the wings and elevators were pretty poorly molded with wide recessed panel lines. The engines were fair at best and do not have the separate spinning fan blades that the 737 has. The landing gear is mediocre at best. Even though Skymarks really stepped up their game with the new line of 737s, this one is really just one of their 1/200 aircraft scaled up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice set if you get it for the right price..., March 30, 2015
This review is from: McLaren P1 TM (Toy)
This is a great little kit, but you can certainly find it cheaper elsewhere. You should not be paying more than $16 for this. Good number of pieces and a fun build. I hope these sets do well so we can see more of them!

Great set, just a little over-priced for what you get, but I guess Bernie needs his cut=)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great kit from Revell., October 17, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the next installment of the excellent 1/32 WWII birds that Revell has been releasing (to include the BF-109 and Spitfire). Make sure you make some room for this exotic bird as she takes up quite a bit of real estate when she's finished. Fit and finish still isn't up to par with the likes of Tamiya or Hasegawa, but it's getting there. The cockpit was well detailed and went together very well. The instrument panel decals were broken down into individual gauges, which seemed to be a bit excessive at first, but they went on very well and the resulting detail is great. The parts breakdown of the fuselage is a bit odd and I had some minor fit problems with the bottom center section and the forward gun cowling, but the rest went together well. The engine cowlings are missing some detail and the kit could really benefit from the Eduard external photoetch set, but it builds up as a very impressive kit straight out of the box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good investment if you can get it at a reasonable price, May 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got this kit for $200, which I still consider a bit much for some aluminum tubing and a filter, to be quite honest, but I've been very happy with it so far. Installation was straight-forward and simple (the K&N website actually has a step-by-step video of the installation - HIGHLY recommended!) and the performance gains were immediately noticeable. Throttle response has greatly improved and I've been tracking average gas mileage closely and both highway and city driving have gone up roughly 2 MPG, so this thing should actually pay for itself in 2-3 years (kinda like buying new windows for your house).

The one concern I had regarding this kit and what kept me from buying it years ago is people comments on how much louder it is. This kit actually went on my wife's 2011 Grand Cherokee and she liked that it ran so quiet. Well, I managed to convince her to let me put this on even though reviewers claimed it would be noticeably louder and it certainly is. To be more precise, there is absolutely NO CHANGE in noise from idle to 2000 RPMs, but once you hit 2K and up, there is an increasingly loud low rumble. To my surprise, my wife actually likes it, especially the fact that it is still very quiet at cruising speed. The increased noise (and airflow) comes from removing the enormous baffles that are built into the stock intake, which kinda act like a muffler on your exhaust.

So, in short, if you want a 5% gain in HP and torque and 10% gain in both city and highway MPG with some added noise that increases with the weight of your foot, then I would highly recommend this kit.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little pricey, but worth it, May 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pacific Fleet (App)
I downloaded and played the "Lite" version of this game on my iPhone and enjoyed it enough to go ahead and invest the $5.99 to get the full version on the Kindle (sometimes bigger IS better!). The graphics are great and gameplay is smooth and appropriately dramatic. I was surprised to find out that there are no in-game purchases/micro transactions, which is why the front-end price is relatively steep, so everything you get in the game you have to earn, which is unusual these days. But, this game is a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone looking to control a battleship or aircraft carrier during a WWII campaign.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing kit!, May 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This kit is simply amazing and well worth it if you can get it for less than $50. The detail is as crisp and accurate as you can get on a 1/144 kit. For anyone who hasn't worked with a Fine Molds kit before (this was my first), they go a long way to ensuring there there are little to no seams that need filling or sanding and this one certainly does not disappoint. This Falcon is about 8" from nose to tail and makes for an impressive piece even at this scale. I must admit that building this really inspired me to drop the $200+ on the 1/72 kit, but that may have to wait until Christmas=)

I bought this tie interceptor for $50 (not sure if it was on sale or if the price has just gone up), but was a great buy! The detail is crisp and very well done, it is relatively durable (ejecting the "wings" enough times will eventually result in something broken), and is a great addition to any collection. Please note that it does NOT come with a figure. This is the only thing that I found a little disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good as a stand-alone game, but very disappointing as a sequel, December 26, 2013
This review is from: Gran Turismo 6 (Video Game)
I doubt there is much I can say that a hundred other users haven't already said, but this game really needs to be reviewed twice - once as a stand-alone game and once as a sequel to the fantastic GT5. As a stand-alone game, it would easily get four stars, but not quite five. One of my few gripes (as a stand-aloneEven though cars are no longer labeled as "standard" and "premium", the same difference between the two classes still exist and there are an awful lot of "standard" cars whose rendering is mediocre at best and do not offer true "in-cockpit" views. The physics engine is flawless and the fully rendered cars are about as real as it gets. The tracks are breathtaking and the in-game menus are very easy to manipulate. I don't really are for the "stars", but this is a small complaint at best.

Now, GT6 as a sequel to GT5 - Hmmm... Well, the menus look different and they've added a handful of cars, but a vast majority were in the previous installment and the same goes for the tracks. Three big features are actually missing from the sequel including B Spec racing, which I happened to enjoy, "real" endurance races (GT6 has the 24 "MINUTES" of Le Mans - seriously?), and the track editor. The first and last will supposedly be added at a later time, but all that tells me is that they were in a rush to get this game out because some major features are still missing. There is a new moon rover set of races, but this quickly loses its appeal (if there was any to begin with), but that's really about it. They DID get rid of the god-awful used car aspect of the game, all cars being available from the get-go, but the annoying paint chips are still there.

Again, as a stand-alone game, GT6 would really shine, but there isn't much that disappoints as far as being a sequel is concerned.
