5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of juice in a little package, November 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this because I was tired of watching my Samsung S3 battery drain on my ride in a van pool as I checked traffic, some blogs, and things. I realized I should have some sort of battery backup to hold me over until I could get a chance to charge it at home.

I bought the Anker battery because of my superb experience with Anker customer service concerning a Bluetooth loudspeaker I had bought through Amazon.

This little jewel is about the size of a woman's lipstick. It comes with a fabric case and the USB cable needed to charge it/charge the cell phone or whatever. It took a few hours to initially charge it up using a USB connection to my desktop computer. (I don't know exactly how long since I plugged it in before going to bed). It does its job charging up my cell phone. I do need to get the cell down to about zero charge to find out how much juice it has for a Galaxy S3. If I remember, I'll post an update to my review here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good speaker and superb customer service = 5 stars, November 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I rate this a 5 for two reasons. First, the speaker (which I use because my Acer laptop has terribly low volume on many things) sounds quite good. It's designed nicely, is easy to operate, has a good battery life. It's nicely built. Second, the customer support I have received from Anker has been excellent - much more than I expected.

The speaker I received when I made the order didn't work. I charged it but it didn't seem to be trying to connect with the Acer's Bluetooth. I told Amazon that I was returning it. Amazon apparently notified Anker. Quite unexpectedly I received an email from Anker asking me what the problem was. I explained it, and they sent me a return label. I sent the speaker back. They shipped me a new one and kept up an email correspondence with me to make sure that it was working and was connecting to my computer.

It took me a little bit of tweaking the laptop to get it to connect. From what I can see the fault was with the Bluetooth software/hardware on the laptop and not with the speaker. I found that the Bluetooth wasn't activating as it should. I rectified that problem, made the speaker the default sound system and voila! When the speaker is on and connected, the sound goes through it. When the speaker is off, sound goes back to the laptop's speaker. Works like a charm.

I was so impressed by Anker's help that I purchased their backup battery (Anker® 2nd Gen Astro Mini 3200mAh Lipstick-Sized Portable External Battery Charger with PowerIQ™ Technology for iPhone, Samsung, HTC and More ) a few days ago. That works well, too.

(Single Sided Regular Tip) Type-III 100pc Gun Cleaning 6 Inch American Made Cotton Swabs
(Single Sided Regular Tip) Type-III 100pc Gun Cleaning 6 Inch American Made Cotton Swabs

3.0 out of 5 stars Double-ended regular is adequate, but not by much, November 8, 2014
I bought the double-ended regular swabs for cleaning a handgun. The problem that makes these merely adequate is that there is not a great deal of cotton used in the swab. The length is handy for getting down into areas that a regular Q-tip can't reach. On the other hand, I think a Q-tip may have a bit more cotton in the swab. I believe you can get a "fatter" swab than these that would rate closer to a 4. These will do in a pinch if you need something long.

As to cotton swabs, I'm planning on trying the Ramrodz cotton swab that Amazon carries as an alternative to patches as well as to make use of its length for cleaning the slide and magazine well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice replacement for a 2005 Town & Country original struts, July 21, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. About a month ago when getting something out of the back I glanced at the struts and saw that they were surprisingly rusted. One was so rusted I was concerned that it was going to fail. I bought two of these struts to replace the original equipment.

I used a #40 Torx with a socket wrench to remove the bolts holding the originals to the car (supporting the tail gate with some lumber and replacing one side before moving to the other side).

The replacement strut is different than the OEM for the car. The original fits through a fitting on the strut and is then bolted to the car. The Stabilus uses a bolt with a standard hex shape in the middle. The top of the bolt is rounded. The strut itself uses something akin to a spring clip that you pry open slightly with a small flat-blade screwdriver in order to fit it onto the bolt.

If you have a T&C I would suggest that you attach the strut to the bolt in the liftgate first. This way there's enough "wiggle" in the fitting to let you attach the base of the strut to the bolt that's on the car. The rod that moves in and out of the strut does not twist. When I attached the strut to the chassis first I couldn't tilt it enough to fit onto the bolt on the liftgate. Attaching first to the lift gate made it much easier to fit the strut onto the bolt on the car.

I've only been using them for a month so I can't say anything about their durability. What I can say is that I found that they were noticeably firmer when I shut the lift gate.

I'd buy them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good, dependable NON-STICK skillet, July 21, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My wife and I have gone through several medium and high-priced non-stick pans over the years. We found this to be quite good. In fact, after buying the first one, I bought two more (the 8", 10", and 12"). The handle is comfortable. It's rubbery so it's slip-resistant. The pan is solid without being too heavy. I appreciate the marker in the center that lets me know when it's hot enough for cooking.

To cook with it I pour maybe a teaspoonful of vegetable oil in the center. I spread it around the bottom and sides with a folded paper towel. On my gas range I set the control to 3 (of a scale of 1 to 6). In a couple of minutes it's ready. I've cooked eggs, chicken tenders, fish, and meat on it. Nothing has stuck so far. I do use non-stick tools, though (I'm not going to tempt fate and use metal even though they're permitted). To clean I just use some hot water, a little detergent to clean the inside and wipe down the outside.

It's a very nice pan. We've been using the first one we bought since March. It's now the end of July. It still looks like new.

It's replaced a Calphalon that we spent more for and that now sticks like the devil

5.0 out of 5 stars A very comfortable T-shirt, July 21, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have four of these T-shirts. I'm 6'6" and around 350 pounds. The XXX-Large/Tall fits me quite nicely, in fact there's a little room to spare. It's not at all tight. Unlike most T-shirts (and regular shirts, for that matter) I find it has a good length that's appropriate for my challenging verticality. The fabric is also not skimpy. I really love the pocket. It's lets me carry my cell phone or a pen or a carpenter's pencil or the like while I'm working. I would suggest that if carrying a cell phone that you do move it to a pants pocket if you have to bend over. I have mine in an OtterBox but the pocket is not a tight fit for the phone. I am always concerned that the phone will take a dive if I bend over too far.

All in all, a good shirt. It's comfortable. It fits. It has a pocket. It seems durable.

Stargate SG-1 Season 9 [HD]
Stargate SG-1 Season 9 [HD]
Price: $29.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Stargate SG-1 - A Most Enjoyable Series, December 13, 2013
Great program. Good sense of humor. Great characters. Sam is wonderful. Dr. McKay is a pompous jackass. Clever story lines. And yes, sometimes it's amazing how they get out of a jam in the nick of time, but then it's science fiction, and it's not the first program to have amazing saves. I must admit, though, that 10 years may have been enough. Beyond that the writers may have had trouble coming up with decent stories that don't repeat themselves. This rating goes for all 10 seasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice targets to help you spot your shots, November 15, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This and the 3" version I find to be quite handy at the indoor range I use. I use these with relatively small 6" x 7" NRA TQ6 targets (that I buy at pistoleer.com since Amazon doesn't carry them nor any store nearby). The TQ6 is for "25 feet slow fire pistol." Anyway, I will put six or more of these on the cardboard sheet supplied at the range, pop the 3" ones in the center of a few and then the 2" ones on a couple more (it kind of forces me to concentrate more on the smaller target). At a distance of 15' to 21' at my range it's much, much easier to see where my shots are going with these. Otherwise I'd have to keep recalling the target after every few rounds to see how well (or poorly) I shot.

It's so gratifying to fire a couple of rounds and then see the bright spots in the bulls'-eye.

I've used the 8" version stuck on a sheet of paper and stapled to the cardboard at 11 yards. I can fit two and a bit across on the cardboard. This lets me somewhat simulate shooting at the 8" steel plates at a Glock GSSF competition. I'm able to see the hits on the 8-inchers even at 11 yards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Glock spring, November 15, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Really, what can I say? It's an OEM magazine spring made by Glock. I bought it to replace a spring made of thinner wire that was in a Korean knock-off of the 9mm, 17 rd magazine. It's a solid spring like you should expect from a decent manufacturer.

Glockstore also shipped it quite promptly, so kudos for Glockstore.com as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars What you see may not be what you get, November 15, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered two of these through Amazon Prime on a Wednesday. They arrived in the U.S. Mail on Friday. That's good. On the other hand, instead of receiving two 16AWG 14" Ziotek cables, I was sent two 18AWG Well Shin 13" cables (measuring from the end of the socket to the end of the plug, not including the prongs). For the use that I am putting them to, the 18 gauge is not a problem. The problem is the fact that Ziotek is advertised but not what was sent.

I sent feedback to the seller a few moments ago, and we'll see what he says.

As you can see, the shipping is free whether it's Prime or not which is a pleasant surprise (well, let's be realistic - the shipping cost is part of the price, but it's still pleasant not to see a $5 charge for a $4 item).

I give the seller 5 stars for promptness. I give the product 4 stars since it seems decently made (but then it's from an unknown Chinese company . . . ). I should give it 2 stars for accuracy of advertising.
