Too Mature for YA?, May 18, 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This novel is somewhat of a sequel, to A Certain Slant of Light, which I didn't read. There is, however, sufficient reference to what happened earlier to make this book free-standing. If you like the concept, I recommend you read the first before this one to understand fully what happened... Because when a ghost takes over bodies, well, they don't exactly fill in for the individual who had left that body! Let's me just summarize important events surmised from the first book: Two mature individuals went into two teenager bodies and were intimate. A picture of that event was taken, probably by the brother of the teenage boy. The family of Jenny, the main character in this new book, is very religious. Helen, the body invader, was shall we say quite different in her responses from those that Jenny would have given... Helen finally does make it into heaven, after having used a number of individuals as hosts, and who indeed may have been helped--can't be sure...However, Jenny's body had been empty so she took it completely... While in heaven, she realized that she may have damaged Jenny's life...Duh... So she comes back... Now, when I first started reading, I had to hold my personal feelings in...this book is listed for ages 12- I guess I tend to be much more conservative in what is read at that age... Reading something seems to give actions some credibility, don't you think? In any event, during the time that Jenny is out of her body, which she had self-taught to herself, given the abuse from her father, and the "acceptance" of her mother, she meets a boy who apparently is also out of his body, although this book doesn't show how that happened. When Jenny comes back into her body, she, of course, has no idea what has happened in the interim. Needless to say, the majority of the book has Jenny catching up on that time period. And trying to explain she knows nothing about these actions! The trouble with this book is that it is beautifully written. By that I mean, it was an enjoyable read. Jenny was a girl that readers will enjoy--and understand. I'm not so sure about Helen, unless she thought that the real person was never going to return to that body? But having died in a flood, thinking her daughter was also dead, then having had traumatic thoughts right at the point of death that left her...a little unbalanced? The only thing I totally approved of to be learned about from the novel is that Jenny was able to mature during the time that she faced prejudices, and, finally stand up to her rigid father's actions. Even though her mother remained a wimp toward an abusive husband... I hope this author turns to adult books for the future, so that she can fully explore her creative fantasy and imagination. But I really don't think I can recommend this one for 12 and above... Read some other reviews to get further information or read some excerpts... The ones I would want to share would be giving away too much of the story... Anybody want to ask questions, I'll be glad to share more... GABixlerReviews

Make This Into New Movie With Denzil Washington!, May 17, 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
It is soooo easy to spend time with Easy Rawlins... and, thank goodness, Mosley resurrected him in his latest, out on the 14th! There was something very beautiful about the writing in this book...Mosley knew we all wanted more of Easy and it seemed that every single word was chosen, reconsidered, and finalized before he moved on... And you know what I enjoyed most in his writing? His character descriptions! Every time he introduced a new character, I could imagine what he or she looked like...and, no, he rarely used the word black, or Negro...and never, of course, African-American because that phrase wasn't around in the 60s when Easy was 47... The other thing I found I was doing while I spent time with Easy was thinking of my dear friend, Spencer Turnage, who we lost May 10th of last year. Most of the time, I pictured Spence as Easy...and wishing that Spencer had had some of the croc blood himself! Spencer was a beautiful poet who shared his words with all of us, especially at Gather.com. He would always be talking about his neighbors, his community, and about what he was doing to be involved with them... And that's just the way Easy is. Of course, I don't think Spencer got into the criminal issues like Easy did...but I do know that it was never about being paid...it was about helping his friends and maybe some day they would help him...So, I'm taking his opportunity to share that all of your friends miss you Spencer... And it was lovely to remember you as Easy visited me... Easy Rawlins had died in that last novel... But they had brought him back and kept him alive for months... He discovered later that Mouse had climbed down the ravine and had carried him up the hill, although nobody could figure out how he'd done it. But Ray and Easy were best friends. They constantly proved it by "being there" for the other. And he was there when Easy finally woke up from being in a semi-coma for so long--everybody had thought he had died! Even some man had squatted his home, living there, claiming it was his... At least he hadn't gotten rid of Easy's clothes and other belongings--just had used a lot of them, especially his liquor! But Easy knew that he was still very close to death--he was barely moving, not totally living... Still, when Ray said he needed his help, it was natural for Easy to just ask, "What?" Ray needed him to find Little Green. Evander Noon, the son of a man he had murdered... a teenager who had left home and not come back... Of course, Easy took it on...but before he did, he knew he had to make one very important visit! He visited his local voodoo doctor... Well, he finally found Little Green who was being tortured by some druggies... Seemed there had been some money stolen and they wanted it... Easy gets Evander away and takes him home to heal and maybe find out what was going on. Finally, Evander remembers and Easy took the money to the only man he'd trust with it--because he already was so rich that he'd laugh at the small amount... At the same time, another friend and the rich man asked for his help! Blackmail and insider crime was the main dish to eat then... You can bet that Gator's Blood was keeping him going or he'd never be done! The thing about Easy though, was that just handling the specific request was not what Easy's all about... He's got to deal with and clean up every single issue that surrounds what has happened... But then he made contact with his former lover...the one who'd broke up with him right before Easy went over that hill... I loved every single word of this book--even those I hate to see, that are used by the young people of today, were only used appropriately! I've shared the good parts of this novel as part of my review. But there's so much more that could be spotlighted. The 60s included the Watts Riots, Hippie Love, sex and drugs...and the hate of whites toward blacks...All that is there and more...because that all happened and needs to be shared. Stop by my blog for vids and more... But Walter Mosley spreads his opinion through the choice of his words to talk of his characters that happen to be a certain color like "ochre" --LOL, I'm spotlighting that one because it was the only one I looked up to understand the particular coloring... or the Frenchman who was olive skinned with dark, dark brown eyes, almost black. The little mustache he'd sported... or this young man with almost alabaster white skin, coarse red hair and pale blue eyes, who I promptly hated for his officiousness... Why, I wondered, don't other writers describe their characters so that readers could gain such a perfect image? In any event, I loved this latest novel by prolific author Walter Mosley. If you lived during the 60s, consider it a must read! And, somebody get a copy to Denzil Washington because we need a new Easy Rawlins movie from this one! GABixlerReviews

Story Deserves 5; Kindle Version Doesn't..., May 16, 2013
Jennifer, you're going to have to ensure your Kindle version are in better condition for price being requested...Just my personal opinion, of Course... Jennifer Chase's Emily Stone character made me a fan from her first book, Compulsion. If you haven't read her yet, check out my reviews for those books that I've been able to fit in to my schedule. Now, the bad first. The Kindle version has many errors. Not knowing enough about the creation of this process yet, I'm just passing that on for those who "refuse" to be burdened with overlooking typos. Now the book was also double-spaced, which bothered me more than the errors. With double-spacing, there are very few words on one page...and it's bothersome to have to "touch every screen" to read on... {The good and the bad of Kindle for hi-volume readers!} There is one major serial killer as the main villain in Dead Burn. I personally am still bothered when a psychopath has been so perverted against religion by somebody in his life, that he turns into a crusader and kills to "save" souls. If that's giving too much away, I'm sorry, but I think some people will want to know this when choosing to read this novel. Especially, when he not only identifies and kills the guilty, but all those related to him/her. Chase is a criminologist as well as writer and I don't know how many religious-oriented murders actually occur, but it certainly catches the attention of most readers--maybe that is irrelevant in writing books, but I think that it can affect sales. I probably wouldn't have wanted to read this one, mainly because there is usually no possible salvation for psychopaths it seems. Still when he set out to kill a lawyer that was so wickedly smooth that he routinely got rapists and serial killers off...well, I have to admit that was alright with me...LOL The most enjoyable part of the book for me was the "disagreement" between Emily and her lover, Rick...and the stolen kiss by Jordan, another of her work partners who is in love with Emily. It was noted that she didn't quickly push him away. Point being: Emily holds a grudge--good for her...LOL I do too! And then there was the assassin and the semi-governmental agency! This interesting and cool character had been watching Emily and, although he had no real ability as a sociopath to care about somebody, he did come to respect her as a professional. What he did made the whole book for me.... Let me know if you agree! I have to say that, given the selection of the cover as a winner, plus the problems inside, I would not recommend the Kindle version of this book...but, hey, I'll still recommend it just get the book! LOL! GABixlerReviews

Lovely Learning Experience in This Adventure Thriller in Bulgaria!, May 15, 2013
If you are like me, I do a lot of my traveling via books! Certainly the setting for many fiction novels takes us to exciting places; however, Ellis Shuman who has spent time there, has taken special care in including much more than the usual, in writing Valley of Thracians. So if you are like myself, as an average American who had no real "perception" or knowledge of this country, then I highly recommend you consider this much more than an exciting adventure thriller--consider it a significant historical and cultural novel from which you will learn much... While enjoying the familial love of a grandfather who refuses to believe his grandson is dead... Scott had always been close to his grandfather, finding him easier to discuss things with than his own father. So when the family heard that he had been killed while in Bulgaria, although the body had never been found, his father initially investigated but then worked to go on with life. But three years later, Simon was still not willing to accept Scott was dead. Having lost his wife, Simon decided to do his own investigation. Before long he met a fellow professor who was quite willing to introduce Simon to her country and its treasures. It is to the character Sophia from Sofia that we are also given a guided tour as she volunteers to help Simon with his search. Scott had been having some normal teenager problems when Simon began to talk with him. Scott turned around enough to finish school and join the Peace Corps who sent him to Bulgaria. During their training period Scott had lived with a local family, but had also started to use drugs again. That had led to his being blackmailed into some minor crime activities, normally just as a messenger. But soon Scott realized that those with whom he was involved were selling Thracian artifacts! On the latest trip, he had been forced to deliver one of those artifacts and the sister of the man who was blackmailing him was forced to go with him. But when he actually has to go into the building to meet the buyer, she refuses to go in with him... That was the last time anybody who knew him could say where he had been... Now Simon was trying to retrace his grandson's steps... But word had gotten around that a renewed effort to find Scott was being made... And the original thieves...as well as the buyer...were keeping track of everywhere that Sofia and Simon traveled... Poor Simon soon began to get hurt in one way or another, although not badly, as they encounter the men following them! But that didn't stop him because a major clue had been sent to him. Scott's silver chain, which Simon had given to him, had been delivered to where he was staying. Did this mean he was alive? Or did somebody actually know he was dead and wanted to return an important part of Scott to his family... Soon, though, Simon began to wonder about Sophia... She was making calls or texting without saying what she was doing. Did she think that somehow Scott was tied to the missing artifact that she had told him about when they toured the museum? A treasure hunt? Or a native Bulgarian who was trying to help out a fellow member in academia? Simon was beginning to feel his trust fading, since even the police and fellow Americans living there were not really helping in any way... This is not a fast-paced thriller, but there is certainly enough action and adventure to keep the thrills moving... Written more in a literary style, plan instead to sit back and relax and learn about the many Bulgarian sights that Simon enjoys seeing while searching for his grandson. You'll learn much about this country, including, for instance, that because of the high quality of its roses, "mastered over centuries of dedicated cultivation, Bulgaria is one of the world's largest exporters of rose oil, used in the production of perfumes, beauty creams, chocolates, liquors, and jams"...and even tooth paste. Cool, right?! Bet you didn't know that, did you? Lots more, but most importantly, emails are included between a grandson and his loving grandfather, who never gave up believing he could find his grandson... Highly recommended! GABixlerReviews

Urban Fiction Includes Murder Mystery!, May 8, 2013
With the raw language of urban fiction, 3:53 explores the intense self-analysis of teens testing their limits on drugs, sexuality, friendship, bullying, abuse, love... and murder... Using a series of short scenes, thoughts, essays, the author takes readers directly into the intimacy of four acquaintances, one of whom is a psychopath... Corey had been called Fat Boy for so long that most people didn't even know his name, even after he had visited Subway 3 times a day, like the guy on TV and was now not overweight... Abused by his father, as each morning he used a police taser to get him out of bed, Fat boy enjoyed payback by going after anybody he viewed as weaker than he was now. Becky had a hard life with her mother, mainly since everybody in town knew she used drugs and would do anything to get it! Fortunately, they lived in the same trailer park with Sam and his Dad and Sam was her best friend. She spent most nights with him in his trailer since his Dad was on the road most of the time. They'd watch TV, talk, and sometimes more... Sam had recognized his own sexual orientation, wanting another whose beauty blinded him, but not knowing how to approach him, he finds writing a screenplay between two men a release of his hidden desires.{This screenplay is set off as a story within the story} It is scary to risk being called names by school mates, while girls may be looking for more than he can provide... But one day when he got home from school, he realizes he accidentally left that screenplay in homeroom! Fat Boy knew he had a gold mine when he found and read it... And when he came upon the writer and his idol one day in the woods, he started reading the play out-loud... But before that Sam and Dylan had been using drugs and sharing more with each other...in fact, Dylan admitted he was having problems with stress, with his parents, football, and feeling like he was pretending to be somebody else other than he was... Caught in a life, living on the streets, finding wherever they could get it results in lies, secrets, stolen moments and a world of pain... One of them couldn't take what was happening. And when the time was right, death came to one of the four...and then another... And then there was none... This is short but so intense that you may get lost and not know how to put the pieces together, do realize that the screen play is separate as outlined in the contents. This is not for everybody. But if you can deal with the street language of today, please try this urban fiction. The writing is excellent. The story mimics what you read in the newspaper, not ever knowing, though, what actually happens to the victims. Be prepared. The language is indeed raw. The results obsessive, real, and illustrative of what some of our youth live in on a daily basis...If we don't like them telling the facts as they see them... Tough! That's the genre...and everybody has just as much right to the freedom of speech as anybody else. Even when we don't like it. But be sure to read the pain behind these stories as well. Because it is there, waiting for you to read and say that...you understand... GABixlerReviews

Debut of Series for Heather Graham Demands Attention!, May 6, 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I read author Heather Graham as often as I can, and I had to laugh when I checked out my last review for Nightwalker, which I then called my favorite from her... You guessed it, I was about to say the same thing for her latest! BUT, instead I'll start by talking about the characters, Cafferty and Guinn--they are certainly worthy of a following! Check out Graham's announcement for the series on her blog if interested! Danni Cafferty has just inherited an antique shop from her father. What she doesn't know is that she's inherited much, much more! There were many such shops in the French Quarter, but this shop was known for "taking/accepting things that could not be offered to others..." And her father had known what to do with them... Danni did not... So when Michael Quinn shows up there, thinking she would at least know of him and his involvement with her father, he was somewhat shocked to learn that she had never heard of him. Fortunately, a long-time assistant of her father was able to speak on his behalf! But they didn't have time to get to know each other now; they had a job! A widow had rushed into the shop and demanded that they come and remove a statue. The statue had already killed her husband and she feared for her own life. Of course, Danni did not understand why she had come there rather than to the police! "Oh, you stupid, stupid girl!" Mrs. Simon had cried. Finally, to calm her, Danni agreed to come see the statue... But by the time that Danni and Quinn went to visit, they found her dead, hanging by a rope...The searched everywhere, but the statue was gone. They did find where a window had been broken, the statue apparently stolen... Quinn had once been a cop before he became a private investigator. He had partnered with Jake Larue and he, fortunately, came to the scene... He was also at the scene when they later found the thief of the bust...also now dead... When Danni returned to the shop and, in particular, her studio, it was then that she knew that something was happening to her... Her last painting of a woman had been envisioned rather than created as a portrait. The woman was Mrs. Simon, a woman she had never seen or met before she had come into the shop that morning! She began to search on the internet and slowly began to find information... The bust was of Pietro Giovanni Miro who had murdered many people... The bust was beautiful, made of marble in typical Roman style. The eyes were strange, though, seeming to watch you... It had been placed in a New Orleans cemetery to protect others, but had been stolen... And each time it was stolen, or even touched, the individual died... This is NOT a treasure hunt, although it definitely is a provocative chase that moves swiftly, leaving bodies behind... With Quinn and Cafferty trying to plan ahead how they may be able to find it! And to do this, Billy stayed in the shop to keep watch...but Danni had first gone to Natasha, the voodoo priestess for guidance and then Quinn wanted to visit also. But he didn't seek supernatural guidance, he wanted her help in identifying names they had found in the Simon home--the Priestess was firmly entrenched in the city and probably could help. In the midst of all that they were doing, Quinn also contacted a local priest of the Catholic Church...And it was the five of them that planned how they could infiltrate a ceremony that was to be held...where they learned that the Statue would be found... Paranormal evil finds the humans necessary to take on all that he wants...Watch what happens as a statue travels from place to place, seeking those with whom he can...commune... Spooky with great adventure for this new couple who are struggling to understand their new relationship and still fight evil!Scary good! Highly recommended! GABixlerReviews

Biography of A Child of Rape..., May 3, 2013
I wanted to share this review on Friday so those who read it will have the opportunity to spend time over the weekend thinking... thinking about a little boy who never knew a mother's love...Now, my father was killed while my mother carried me, so you could say that I never had a father's love... But, you see, Jonathan's mother was living in the same house at the time... This is the story of a little boy who was pulled out of the arms of loving grandparents, brought to America, and lived in hell thereafter... It is not a story that is easy to read... But if you care about children, you...simply...must... Jonathan's story of abuse makes up the majority of this book. It was obviously cathartic for him, and may be for many others. But it is clear that God was watching this boy. I don't know how he survived, he did and the ending of his book includes a beautiful testimony. Jonathan began to write to relieve some of the tension of his life. I'll be sharing a couple of those this weekend, so please check my blogs. The most memorable thing for me is when his grandfather called to speak to Jonathan and his mother did not allow it. His beloved grandfather died shortly thereafter, but nobody told Jonathan, explained anything to him...He had lost the one person in his life who had provided him unconditional life. Kicked out of his home quite often, it was fortunate that Jonathan was well liked by the people around him--his friends would take him in. But he often walked the streets... Jonathan was a child from rape and his mother never let him forget it, often calling him by his real father's name while she beat him. He did have a stepfather, but he was not strong enough to deal with what was going on... This is an extremely well written biography, so well written that there is nothing to distract readers from the horror of this boy's life. But, then you read his strong words... he is "Undefeated!" This book needs to be read; this story needs to be shared... Even if you cry while you read most of it, like I did... Note: I met this author through his first book which needed some work. I talked to him about it and it was redone... I believe this is a true story, merely because of how he reacted to my earlier interactions. This book was provided in hard copy. It is very well done, beautifully presented. I am honored to have met this young man through his work. I believe his testimony and his work to move, undefeated, from this past... I have had no personal contact with this young writer, but I will be writing about this book in my Just My Personal Opinion Blog as well as Book Readers Heaven, if interested. GABixlerReviews

Please Make This Into Series or At Least A Sequel!!! 5+++, May 2, 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is a ghost story...unlike any you may have read before! It is delightfully detailed in historical richness of stories that have been past down through generations! I had heard of the ghost bride--one who was asked to marry a man who had died, with a rooster sitting in for the groom. But this author has taken it further and created her own place, the Plains of the Dead, that moves readers far beyond former tales and allows us to envision that place "in between..." I was enthralled as soon as I saw the cover and read the first sentence on the back cover: "One evening, my father asked me whether I would like to become a ghost bride..." Her simple question then blew me away! "Who asked." Now, really, would you be able to calmly listen to this proposal? First, of course, you must realize that marriages were arranged at that time, so it would have been normal for her father to propose a liaison... But to a dead man? What had happened was that the heir on the family had died, and the Lim Family wanted to honor him...now that's the story used...but what was actually happening, was that the son was haunting his parents, as well as already sneaking into the dreams of Li Lan, wanting to ensure she was given to him as his bride. Li Lan was from a poor family, but the fathers had been friends. Now, though, since his own wife had died, Li Lan's father had withdrawn from the world, spending much time in an opium-induced world...and bills building up. The Lim family had been loaning money, as Li Lan was promised to another in the family. Now, though, he was the heir. The family wanted to make a better, more advantageous match...Check Book Readers Heaven for pics and excerpts... Lim Tian Ching kept coming into Li Lan's dreams until one visit was so bad that she became ill. Her dreams became weird, she visited places she'd never been and then, finally, her soul left her body! Fortunately she appeared to be unconscious, so she was cared for and kept nourished... otherwise, she might have died! Instead, she began a wondrous journey where she was able to see all of the ghosts that appeared each night--hungry ghosts, who had nobody to pray for them and provide them food... As you can probably tell, if you were here right now, I would continue to tell you about all of the strange wonders that you will learn about in the afterworld. But, then, you would never be able to really understand or imagine what is to come in this outstanding novel. Yangsze Choo Debut is truly a literary folk tale that takes us far back before things were changed by politics. In fact, she provides Notes at the back which merges past with the present, including such things as what the character names means! But what is soooo exciting is that there is a surprise ending that I simply loved! And how I wish I could talk about it...But I can't...So, if my words tempt you or if you love historical and exotic fiction, this is a must-read! Don't miss this one! GABixlerReviews

Excellent Spotlight on TBI and Symptoms!, May 1, 2013
For learning new, important information from fiction novels, Mary Metcalfe's third in her series, is not only her best, but beats out many other novels that help to share today's news through their writing. Specifically, let's go right to that... Have you ever heard of "traumatic brain injuries (TBI)? Many are writing about PTSD as being faced by many of our soldiers, but TBI has some scary statistics. Here's a little about what Mary shares in her Afterword: There are over 300,000 American military service personnel returning from combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan who have these injuries. A tragic consequence of inadequately treated TBI is suicide. And, in fact, deaths by suicide now actually outpace combat deaths in the American military... TBI is marked by the kinds of symptoms and actions described in this novel...If you know somebody who is back from these or other wars, I highly recommend you consider this novel a must read and that you share it with other families whose relatives may have received such injuries! Suicide is tragic, but there are worse events that can be caused... Let me tell you about what Andrea Garrett was facing in her life... The book opens as Andrea is trying to leave her abusive husband, but he catches her, takes her suitcases, dumps then into the bathtub and runs water...destroying all of them... Sean was adamant that she would not leave him, that he was fine--in fact, he was still on active duty... But each time he came home, he was worse and this time, Andrea escaped before he was due home from his latest tour... She had left her children with her twin brother who still didn't want to see her leave--her husband was his best friend. But her mind was made up. She was afraid for her children... Heading for Boston, Andrea "thankfully" had a car accident. Thankfully, because she was found by Carol and Devin, who series readers will have already met, and when she was able to leave the hospital, they took her home to the ranch (which you might have read about in New Beginnings, the second novel in the series)... With the kindness of people like Carol, Devin and others in this small town, Andrea soon knew she had found where she wanted to stay. With friendly help, she soon had an apartment, a job, and was able to bring the children to live with her... And when she shared more about her personal life, she soon was hooked up with a good lawyer and filing for divorce... Of course, Sean returned home, but found nobody who was willing to help him! He went to the police to file a missing person's report... and then his injuries and resultant symptoms took over... When Sean went after Andrea and made it to where she was now living, I loved how the community took over! Val and her husband who own the town's main restaurant, the gay couple living on the ranch and many others spread the word that he was there... You'll so enjoy what happens! At least I did, LOL! But as the story goes on, secrets from the past are revealed, which ultimately makes Sean even more dangerous! An important read... It makes for a terrific thriller but...it could be very real... I happened to watch Dr. Phil yesterday (and today) where an abusive man of the and his "meek" friend who wants out of the relationship are being interviewed! As soon as I saw this man, I thought that he must have had some form of TBI... This issue is real. Learn about it, maybe starting with this novel to see symptoms! Highly recommended! GABixlerReviews

Favorite of the Trilogy!, April 29, 2013
This is my favorite of the three read this weekend... Of course, you all know I go for suspense with my romance and this one has a female that I really enjoyed hating! What more could I want, besides a pair of lovers to watch come together! Carol Brock, best friend of Jennifer in Winds of Change comes to the "star" role in New Beginnings. She's had some bad experiences with men in the past and twice got burnt on the job because issues which really were not her fault. But, as we know, often that doesn't make any difference if there are others who resent you for some reason... And Carol was somebody you either looked to as a role model...or hated, because she was so good at selling. Her activities with real estate in Boston had made her a very wealthy woman... During the last year, though, she had finally realized that she was not really happy. Her children, in college, were distant, not having had much time with her, due to Carol's hours on the job, even at nights and weekends when most people looking to buy were available and wanting to view the properties... Right now, she's responsible for the sale of a beautiful Victorian home, whose owner is now in a rest home and who dies during the novel, making it even more of a...shall we say, challenge! At the same time, Carol, who has stayed away from men since the last few have caused much havoc in her life, meets a new one, who convinces her she's made the right decision! Because when she met him, in a parking lot, he had parked too close to her vehicle, and knocked off her side mirror! Carol couldn't even get into her car, so she promptly took a camera, sent it to the police and called a tow truck! Off course the owner came just as the tow was to begin and took the brunt of her anger quite nicely, apologized, and finally started to laugh at her! Well...any woman knows how Carol reacted to that laughter! But from bad beginnings... It soon got worse! Devin Elliott, architect, Boston's most eligible bachelor, and destroyer of vehicle mirrors, wants to buy the Victorian home for which Carol is responsible! And he wants an early viewing, which she refuses. Then, when he's the first at the open house, the daughter of the owner, refuses to allow him to enter! Carol stands in the midst of their screaming, while other interested customers watch from the sidewalk! Another real estate nightmare for Carol! But Allison has friends and connections... And, this time, Carol is suspended! Now that should leave you hanging and wanting to know more, right? Well, let's just say that Devin used to date the owner's daughter, but it's been years ago. Only to Allison, she has never gotten over him...and if Carol has any type of relationship with him, even if just professional, Carol is now part of all that must happen! Compelling drama, outrageous stalking, arson and much, much more! I loved it and think you will too!
