5.0 out of 5 stars Buy the book, you'll be glad you did..., November 23, 2013

I don't know that I can add any more praise for this book and it's knowledge and stories of encounters of Native Americans (N.A.) with Star Peoples other than to compliment Dr. Clarke and her style of providing the knowledge, thoughts, feelings, and perspective of N.A.'s for Star People. I found the perspective of the results of her research refreshing and from a point of view that I'm sure will be unique to many non-N.A.

To many N.A. Star People are not a new concept and are easily acceptable, whether from first hand encounters or based on beliefs that are not "stuck in one reality" which is a folly that many non-N.A. "suffer" from.

Buy the book. You'll find yourself going back to re-read or highlight certain passages, if you're the "studying-type" in regard to encounters with our Star brothers and sisters.

The universe is large and full of life! Try and open your eyes and mind to more of the possibilities and realities.

LaCie USB 3.0 PCI Express Card 130977
LaCie USB 3.0 PCI Express Card 130977

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS CARD UNLESS YOU USE LaCie HDs ONLY!!!!!!!, March 13, 2013
THIS CARD WORKS ONLY WITH LACIE HARD DRIVES, MAYBE!!!!!

I don't know why I do this to myself - I used to really like LaCie's products, but this is my last purchase from them. I assumed that their card would work with ANY USB 3.0 Hard Drives - they don't. Other reviewers SAY THEY DO WORK WITH LACIE HARD DRIVES. I DON'T KNOW, BUT THEY DO NOT WORK WITH Western Digital or Seagate Hard Drives or Mediasonic Hard Drive enclosures.....

I own the latest (March 2013) MacPro out (3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon) and wanted to add the speed of USB 3.0 hard drive interface. This card WILL NOT WORK with my Western Digital or Seagate Hard Drives.

I'm not gonna' buy any LaCie drives 'cause I have 6 brand new Seagate Barracuda STBD3000100 3TB Hard Drives and 3 brand new Mediasonic HUR1-SU3S2 Raid Enclosures. So, I have this useless LaCie PCI card to remind me of LaCie's non-compatibility.

I don't know why I do this to myself - I used to really like their products, but this is my last LaCie purchase. LaCie, either get with the program or please go quietly OUT OF BUSINESS....

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER!, August 1, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This model of Canon printer is an ink hog, gives random errors, takes 3 or more minutes to prepare to print the first page, and uses an enormous amount of time & ink to do a Print Head Alignment. I am pro Canon - I have owned 2 previous Canon printers, 2 Canon scanners, and several Canon cameras. If you're looking for an inkjet printer, aim higher in the Canon product line and pay attention to the specs to determine how long the page print preparation time is before the first page begins to print. If it doesn't say, then either call the company and find out or go to a store and observe this first hand. This is more important than how many pages it can print per minute. Also, pay attention to the cost of ink cartridges. Cheap (in price) printers will get their money from you through ink purchases. I can already tell that this iP4920 won't last me as long as my iP4500 did (4 years, and the cost was the same). The iP4500 failed because my cats bounced off it once too many times. Want some cats? Seriously, look higher in the Canon product line for a better ink jet printer than the iP4920.

UFOs & Extraterrestrials : Why They Are Here : The Darkest, Longest Kept Secret in Human History

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Summary of Humankind's History & Education, July 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I highly recommend this book.

Mr. Hughes provides the story of Humankind's history on Earth and the interactions of "off planet" entities based on the melting's of translations and writings (and their influence) from H.P. Blavatsky, Edgar Cayce, Dr. Elaine Pagels, Zecharia Sitchin, Erich Von Daniken, Samual Noah Kramer, Robert K.G. Temple, Ruth Montgomery, Merlin Stone, Dr. Jared Diamond, Gnostic christian teachings, the Holy Bible, and Mr. Hughes's own observations and extensions of logic.

Through this book and Mr. Hughes help, you will have the benefit of understanding many of the principles and teachings of a vast number of authors and their books without having to read those books and still running the chance of missing important aspects which Mr. Hughes points out and uses to help the reader understand and appreciate the underlying information and teachings. I know this first hand, because I have read many of the books that Mr. Hughes uses as reference! I had profound revelations while reading this book!

Mr. Hughes provides his "proof" through analysis of archaeological anomalies, the commonality of Sumerian and other myths and holy writings (and remember, just because a story is called a myth doesn't mean that it isn't true and if the myths are part of a religious system, they become "holy writings"), and the "spin" placed on these writings to reveal just enough of truth of "our origin" to satisfy most "seekers" and still hide the truth behind the intertwined journey through time that "we" and "ET" have in common.

That's really one of the principle things I really like about this book - the manner in which Mr. Hughes gently and meticulously steps through and explains his logic and sources all along, throughout the book, with the use of comparisons of reference materials whereby he provides concise summations and analyses regarding the "Creation Myths," the "education of Humankind" by the "God(s)," the lies of the God(s), as well as Humankind's own revelations, inventions, and discoveries.

This book also presents some of the possible positive consequences for Humankind and our "off-planet" partners, as Humankind matures in spiritual essence, moves away from war-like and control issues, gains cosmic understanding, and comes to the realization of the possible positive roles and opportunities that closer collaboration between Humankind and our "off-planet" partners can bring.

You've heard it before, ETs have always been with us. It's true. Mr. Hughes will help you to understand why.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST "OLD FASHIONED" CHEESE STRAWS!!!!, January 4, 2010
My grandmother used to make THE BEST homemade Cheese Straws!

These are the closest commercial product that I've ever found - AND THESE SNACK TREATS ARE REALLY, REALLY GOOD!

The trouble is that it appears that this is a seasonal snack... 8-(

Very cheesy, very crunchy, very satisfying. Don't buy just 1 box, though - get at least 2 boxes (especially if you have extra "hands and mouths" in your family!

If you see these snacks, buy 'em immediately!

4.0 out of 5 stars IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!, June 20, 2009
Dr. Smith's famous, out-of-print classic on the parallels of the formation of our modern democracy, contrasted with those of ancient biblical times and the unfolding of democracy for those peoples is outlined, investigated, and discussed at length such that the lay person or the biblical scholar is equally engaged.

After reading this book, you too will see, understand, and appreciate the great parallels that exist between the challenges faced by our ancestors and those faced by modern humans of today - times may change, but people and their "needs" change very little. All peoples have come to expect (and revere) equality, freedom, peace, prosperity, and the liberty to believe in and worship God as they choose.

Table of Contents: I. The Birth of a Nation: (World Situation, Fugitive Hebrews, Mishpat, Economics of Conquest), II. En Route To Empire, III. The Coolidge Prosperity: (Clash of Empire, Hebrew Prophets, Social Revolution), IV. The First World Crisis: (Prophetic Movement, Assyria Takes Up the March, Eighth-Century Prophets, Four Prophetic Voices, Four Redemptive Ideas), V. The First World State: (Seythian Invasion, Book of the Law, An Ancient "New Deal," Fall of the Nineveh, Class Struggle, Four More Prophetic Voices).

"Confronted as we are today with issues of earth-shaking proportions, we may be heartened to discover that out of a situation 2,700 years ago, which is markedly similar, there came discoveries of God which have guided the race ever since. The darkest day brought the greatest light, for light always comes to those who are brave enough to walk in it." - Dr. Roy L. Smith, the author and former editor of The Christian Advocate magazine.

Creative Aurvana X-Fi Noise-Canceling Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY 'EM! PRODUCT REPAIR/PARTS NOT SUPPORTED!, April 20, 2009
I purchased mine from AMAZON.COM... DON'T BUY THESE HEADPHONES! Great looks, sound, etc. but a product needs to be supported and this one isn't supported past the warranty period.

Also, CREATIVE will charge $12.95 to ask a question ("Do you service, repair, or sell parts for my Aurvana X-Fi headphones?" "No, but you might want to visit our online store to purchase a replacement set of headphones. Any other questions?").

What broke? A small plastic piece, where the head band adjusts. So a $300 pair of headphones is useless for want of a $1 part!

BOSE repairs out of warranty products (and provides a 1 year warranty afterwards) and also sells some replacement parts. I owned mine just over a year before they broke - $300 down the drain!

$300 is a lot of money - buy a product that's supported - BUY BOSE - CREATIVE DOESN'T SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCTS out of warranty. I'll never by CREATIVE again...

Of late I see signs that this product looks like it's being discontinued - CREATIVE is out of stock with no available date and prices are dropping at all the CREATIVE Aurvana X-Fi dealers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Couple of Reviews of ReFraming..., November 4, 2006
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Still relevant and a gold mine., April 1, 2002

Reviewer: John Schertzer (NY, NY USA)

A careful reading of this book will unearth a wealth of information, not only about remedial and generative models developed in early NLP, but also how and why models were designed as they were to begin with.

If one keeps that in mind, as well as the primary presupposition (map/territory), there will be no vast discrepancy between old and new NLP, nor even DHE. You can see the roots right here. The authors themselves make a point in saying that the Six Step Reframing pattern, for instance, was only structured the way it was as a teaching tool, and that it should be forgotten once it was integrated with other communication processes.

The Parts metaphor, they say, is only a one of a number of ways of mapping "as if," perhaps only a way of "chunking" behavior. Bandler is cleverer than everybody thinks: if he doesn't use parts as a metaphor, then what are all the "machines" he's talking about? What about the spacial/visual representations of decision making strategies, et al? Aren't they essentially the same thing? The problem is people tend to forget that these are not actuallities but only useful ways of talking.

This book takes the simpler version of reframing from "Frogs" and really opens it up, describes how it can be used in conjunction with anchoring and linguistic patterns, until it begins to disintegrate as a specific and separate model and becomes a direction.

For another possible view of these issues, see Anti-Oedipus: capitalism and schizophrenia, by Deleuze and Guattari, which dances along to similar music, including the contradictions..

An Important Step for NLP, March 19, 2001

Reviewer: Karl (England, Great Britain)

I think it sometimes helps to think of Bandler and Grinder as intrepid explorers.

?That is to say, much of the early development of NLP consisted of tracking known experts - Perls, Satir, Erickson, Korzybski, etc. - sifting through a wealth of information and finding those vital bits that provided the key to everything else.

In the case of reframing, this was already a well-established concept in certain circles when B&G started to develop NLP. The three founders of the Brief Therapy unit at Palo Alto (Watzlawick, Weakland and Fisch) had brought out "Change", which also covers reframing in some detail, back in 1972, for example.

But the value of the B&G book is not to be measured by how well it tallies with earlier works. It's importance lies, I suggest, in what it tells us about how NLP developed as it did.

As you can see from earler reviews, the idea of "parts" (partly! derived from Virginia Satir's "parts parties") is not to everyone's taste.

?Joseph Riggio, a well respected NLP trainer, suggests that this approach can produce "fractionation and fragmentation". Yet there are lots of people who find that dealing with "parts" fits very well with their view of the world.?And after all, NLP is first and foremost about what works *for you*.

Over the last few years it has become clear that there is no such thing as "bog standard NLP". Everyone who gets involved will have their own ideas, views, techniques and methods.

My advice would be that this book is just one of several key texts that trace the history of NLP. Whether or not, in the end, you decide that the ideas herein are suitable for you, I think this book will inevitably help you to gain a greater understanding of what lies at the heart of NLP.
