Puroast Low Acid Coffee House Blend Drip Grind, 2.5-Pound Bag
Puroast Low Acid Coffee House Blend Drip Grind, 2.5-Pound Bag
Price: $21.00

3.0 out of 5 stars Pure Roast; good stuff., July 11, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
PUroast makes a great coffee. It's got a good mellow flavor with low acidity and high antioxidant content (do some research on health benefits of coffee or/and antioxidants).
Strong coffee lovers beware: this house blend does not deliver the same potent flavor we love. For a more flavorful brew, try the organic french dark roast. -Organic is better anyway; mainstream coffee beans are highly treated with pesticides.

Make Smoke, Burn Smoke Biomass Gasification Primer
Make Smoke, Burn Smoke Biomass Gasification Primer

Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars dissapointingly basic., February 27, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It still gets 3 stars simply because of the nature of the material, a step in a different direction for energy, as it is. There are a few points here that would require some searching to find on your own, but it's the information age- it's out there. The book is painfully lacking in details and often presents otherwise perfectly decent concepts in a slightly goofy or odd manner. Two excerpts spring to mind from the book; 1. "clay, yay!" and 2. "A two can burner in other words, squawk." Huh? What? The first one, ok, you like clay. The second...squawk? What??
Anyway, aside from some odd wording, there is nothing in depth here. There are some very interesting designs talked about but never really explained very well. The book does label itself as a primer, and in that it is a success; it's where I started with biogass and thus far have had some decent success. But for the price, it is very rudimentary and lacking. Keywords: TLUD, biogass, gasification. Do some research on this subject and decide for yourself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent lifespan (3&1/2 stars), February 23, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Got this back in 2012 to hold a 5" folding knife (Uncle Henry). It does the job and looks good doing it so I got two after the first one worked out well. The first one held up well given the heavy abuse dealt it. And I never oiled the leather, so failure was a given under near continuous wear and wet conditions. Yes, the leather is stiff and heavily lacquered. Some break in time is necessary in order to easily receive you belt and (sometimes) for the flap to button. The first one had no trouble snapping closed with my 5" folder safely enclosed, but often the button would let loose. Not so often to be a hassle, but often enough to make me mindful. After roughly two and a half years of hard, unprotected service, a tear began on the belt slit. It took very little effort to rip it across the rest of the way. Disappointing, but I had a spare. So, after two years of life in a draw, the new sheath got some oil and put into action. Very stiff, impossible to buckle at first without taking it off and muscling it into place. A few weeks in, things have loosened up on the new sheath, snap button working well and all is almost back to normal between me and my knife sheath.
So, no, it is not top of the line. But it is functional and good looking. No leather sheath will last forever under duress, but with a little care, this one is capable of going strong for a good while.

3.0 out of 5 stars On durability..., February 19, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Hung a fairly heavy pendant with this and it worked well, for a while. Uncertain if the material is actually silk, but it feels good around the neck. Loop end of clasp is same size as cord for ease of insertion through a small loop or pendant ( clasp operation is a tedious task BTW. Clasp to cord bond is not terribly strong either. -Will pop loose with a small amount of force). Problems occur with continuous wearing and it just did not stand up well to an active lifestyle. After less than two months cord became a bit rougher and slightly frayed.
So this seems fine for light use, looks good, feels good. But, it will fail for active individuals and is not suited for continuous use or harsh conditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent wheelbarrow tube, January 29, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It was a trial of frustration to find a small wheelbarrow inner tube locally when my 40+ year old tire went flat. This did the job perfectly and has withstood a ton of abuse, even poorly protected as it is by an old cracked tire. Have not 'tested' the slime sealant intentionally or otherwise, but it's nice to know it's there.

*Most difficult aspect of this fix is getting the old tire off the rim and back again with new tube. I've done vehicle tires manually that were less difficult, this is due to a wheel barrow tire's small size. It may be simply easier to get a whole new wheel assembly, depending on your wheels configuration.

*info has nothing to do with quality of product

3.0 out of 5 stars Product shipped not as pictured, November 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
What I got still works fine, possibly even an improvement over the under 7yr taco float vent that it replaced. Time will tell. What I received was a watts FV-4M1, which looks like a Watts Fv-4-1/4 (just copy 'n paste item description in amazon searchbar and you'll find it). The piece I got is 1/8" so it fit and functioned fine, but still, poor execution on this order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best rim to tube protection short of kevlar, November 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The highest level of tube protection from the rim I've ever seen. Yes, they take a bit of muscle to pop on, but they are by far better than the thin strips of rubber you usually see. Recommended to anybody who routinely slams their bike down the trail and enjoys coming back on a still inflated tire.

5.0 out of 5 stars A better pressure relief valve, November 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Used this to replace a watts of same specifications that failed in less than 7 years of moderate use (oil burner primarily heats water, woodstove for home heat). On inspection, the Apollo appears to have a better sealing seat and gasket as well as a very decent stainless pressure spring. It's also marked "made in USA", which means Apollo is doing right for the economy here in the states (some research indicates that 'nearly all' Apollo valves are made in USA, and they've been around since 1928, originally consolidated brass company or Conbraco).
By comparison, my old watts relief valve appeared to have no malleable sealing surface and some corrosion protectant on the pressure spring. And it's made in Italy (nothing against Italy, it's just that America really needs it's manufacturing companies in a time when our markets are flooded with imports)
Socioeconomic leanings aside; first impressions leave me believing I'll never have to replace this valve within the next two decades. And if I do, it'll be posted here.
