5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy for an Excellent Price, December 7, 2012
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
I don't know about the educational value, unless you count indoctrinating your child into 80's awesomeness education (I do), but this Lion O figure seriously kicks butt. Very well made, great detail and at an amazing price. $11? Seriously!? I would have paid $20 for this!

The sword could be a bit sturdier, but that's nitpicking, this really is a great toy. I wish they had more characters in the classic line. And why the heck did they make Mumm Ra smaller than Lion-O and Tygra?!?! Doh!!

Excellent figure with great detail and at a very reasonable price. The new series is great, though i wish they'd release more of the classic line.

It's a nice little game, but it takes forever to get anything done. Not a sit down and play game, more of a click and walk away for a few hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Toy!, January 10, 2012

I did a bit of research before finally settling for this boat. I was looking for an inexpensive, reliable, and most importantly, fun r/c boat.

Let's quickly break down the pros and then do a quick rundown of the cons and possible solutions to shortcomings:

Pros:
1.) Fast.
2.) Easy to operate.
3.) Durable.
4.) Inexpensive.

Cons:
1.) Build quality could be better. It's clear the body is cast from two halves. It arrives with a red tape covering the "seam" where the two halves meet. I removed this and used some standard electrical tape to properly cover and seal the "seam". It has held up after heavy use and actually gives the boat a nice look.
2.) Battery. The factory battery is absolute crap. You won't get more than 10 minutes out of it. Fortunately, it uses the very popular Tamiya connector, so if you have other R/C toys, you might already have a higher capacity battery laying around. If not, a battery that will give you about 40-45 minutes of run time (with no overheating) will probably cost you an additional $20. Just search for a 3000 or 38000 mah, Tamiya type battery. It's WELL worth it.
3.) On board engines always allow a bit of water into the hull, so i place a paper towel under the rotor shafts to absorb any water that might get in.

Overall, you can't really ask for any more from a $40 R/C boat. People are marveled at it when they see it, and the few things you have to do to make sure it lasts are painless and well worth it. I've used it in both open water and lakes, and the damn thing is awesome to use and watch. My 4 year old son loves it and drives it without a problem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Astrophotography!, January 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There is only one reason why i am giving this item a 4 star review: It fit my need perfectly!

I'm an amateur astro photographer and was looking for a quick and inexpensive way to take pictures without shaking my telescope mount. The range on this remote is absolute crap. Walk more than 5-6 feet away from the camera and it will not work. If you're looking for an accessory that will let you take great group photos without having to run back to your place, then look elsewhere, the range will probably kill those plans. If all you need is a remote shutter release, then buy this. It works just fine when close to the camera, there are no set up steps and it's easy to carry around.

For the price, it's an absolute must for budding astro photographers. Everyone else should probably get something with a bit more range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Fit, January 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There really is not too much you can say about this item. It has one simple function and it performs it perfectly.

The build is of superior quality, with the ring fitting perfectly on my T2i. Snaps on and off without a hitch and allows me to couple the camera to a T-Adapter or place it directly over a high magnification eyepiece (with a mount) for quick and easy pics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly - Highly Recommended, January 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this for my 4 year old son's Acer Iconia A500. For long trips, you don't want your child holding and staring down at the screen, so i figured mounting the tablet in a more traditional style would work better. It did.

The mount attaches firmly to the passenger's (or driver's if you so choose) head rest. It is built sturdily enough that it does not wiggle around or shake excessively during rough road patches. It provides a comfortable viewing angle and keeps the tablet out of little finger's reach.

As other reviewers have posted, a metal construction would have undoubtedly increased the lifespan, but for the price, you can't really complain. If it breaks after a year or two of use, simply purchase another one, you will have gotten your money's worth.

Solid product, good performance, happy child = Five Stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Many Cons - Few Pros Over Previous Logitech Releases, November 1, 2011
I purchased this MX1100 to replace my old MX620 which had started to die. I went with a similar design because i'd gotten used to the great extras the MX620 offered, such as additional and configurable buttons, hyper fast scrolling, side scrolling, etc. I'll give a brief description of the problems i encountered with this mouse:

1.) Hyper-Fast Scrolling: Easily the best feature this mouse has. Problem is that at least with my unit, the wheel is not properly balanced, so most of the time, when you stop it, the wheel drifts forward a few lines so you end up scrolling when you don't want to. Might not be a huge issue for home use, but i use this at work to navigate huge documents and spreadsheets and it's incredibly annoying to have your document scrolling up and down when you don't want it to. This problem also makes your hand/wrist work much more to try to get the wheel to stop exactly where you want it.

2.) Hidden Thumb Button: This sounded like a great idea, and it could have been, but the button requires such force to press, that you wrist will quickly start to hurt. I had it assigned as pressing Enter, because i use it quite often so i don't have to lift my right hand from the mouse to hit Enter. A week of use later and my wrist is killing me. Been using computers for 20 years and i've never had wrist problems before.

3.) Size: This mouse is huge. Unless you come from a similarly sized mouse, your hand will feel uncomfortable using this.

4.) Precision: Again, perhaps i got a really crappy unit, but this mouse feels nowhere near as precise as my old MX620. I've played around with the settings and nothing seems to help.

All in all, this could have been a great mouse, but because of its shortcoming and defects i ended up ordering a couple of used MX620's to have as replacements.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Follow Up - Great Stand Alone, May 24, 2011
Just as the first reviewer, this is based on the series as it aired on the BBC. It does not speak for any additional scenes or features that may be found in the disc version.

Similarly to Wonders of the Solar System, Wonder of the Universe focuses on familiar subjects and doesn't pretend to teach advanced physics to the audience. It's a show aimed at facilitating understanding of appealing subjects and to initiate the viewer into ideas and concepts that can lead to much deeper - and more interesting - waters.

Professor Cox is a great presenter, as his attitude and general excitement about these subjects is very easily contagious. I suppose he's easy to relate to because he speaks our language - that of the layman - when explaining things that took the greatest scientists in history decades to decipher.

The 4 episodes do a good job at staying within their topics, so an overwhelming number of concepts are not thrown around, which makes these otherwise complicated subjects easy to follow. The second episode - Stardust - is particularly awesome. Even though it's something most people are probably familiar with, it never fails to excite you when you see it presented in such a way. The fact that every atom in my body once exploded from within a star will never bore me :)

My only complaint is that it's only 4 episodes long. The good news? There's a 'Wonders of Life' in the works :)
