5.0 out of 5 stars easy to clean, May 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Fit perfectly, easy to clean. I have the black version, and only the CAPS LOCK button is transparent. When key illumination is turned up, can still see keys pretty well, but they are lit from the side only. Very grippy stuff, and this slows typing, but it's a tradeoff for increased protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but Know the Tradeoffs!, May 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Very light, and brass fittings/shutoff are of fine quality. This hose has tradeoffs, though. Ease of storage and light weight require that hose not be statically pressurized for long, and hose should not be pulled from end, especially when hooked to standard-weight hoses. Take a little care of this and it should last a long time. I've had similar hoses and their weak point was the plastic fittings. Incidentally, the included hose-end sprayer works well. Not expecting much durability from it, but it was included and the whole kit was still a good value.

Should be a standard item in the mixer box. This totally outperforms the original item. All Kitchen-Aid, it's heavy, well-made, and well=designed. Easy cleanup, and eliminates scraping the bowl midway through a recipe.

Typical Cross quality, but also typical Cross performance, meaning it requires significant effort to move across the page. In reality, I use only because it is the only thing that fits my Cross pens. Bics write just as well (or better) for a fraction of the cost.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suspect Quality. Inspect carefully., April 21, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is not "rubberized". It's of a soft-textured plastic. Looks nice. Snapped on easily, both top and bottom. However, when I looked closely, saw that one tab was broken, and another had a hairline crack. Removed with care. Required a little patience, but no damage to machine. Called Amazon and is being exchanged for new item. One more chance for this one.

Update: New item arrived, snapped on perfectly, looks great. Will check for durability, but it's there as a sacrificial tool, to protect my computer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fit and finish are good; nice stowage in provided case, January 27, 2015
Fit and finish are good; nice stowage in provided case. Replacement ear pads available for about $25.00 USD.

Expensive. As a music headphone, it's OK for routine listening. Sound quality and range is good, and bass response is fine. treble is a little lacking.
Volume/computer controls are intuitive and work correctly. Not comfortable for more than 15 minutes at a stretch, due to inordinate pressure on outer ear. this is worse if one wears glasses. Also, moving about, even within 15 feet of source, creates drop-outs that can be irritating if one enjoys uninterrupted music/podcast content.

As a Bluetooth phone, reception is very good again as long as one remains motionless. Dropouts still occur, and this is not good for business or vital communication. Worse, though, is the very poor microphone that only provides good voice pickup when used with a booming voice. Privacy? Normal speaking voice? Forget that.

Recharge time is OK, a few hours, and run time is good, at about 10. Overall, an expensive product that is not quite ready for consumer use.

The Killing Zone: My Life in the Vietnam War
The Killing Zone: My Life in the Vietnam War

2.0 out of 5 stars Run-of-the-mill, February 17, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Mr. Downs recounts his experiences as a "not ready for prime time" lieutenant. The book doesn't really get onto much depth, possibly because downs isn't that deep a guy. He liked killing, and had to be held back by some of his men, and superior officers, from killing innocents. Granted, we often had a hard time sorting the NVA from civvies. He also does not offer much, if anything, to voice his opinion of command decisions that affect the execution of ground plans during the war.

I came away from this thinking that Downs and his ilk were a major part of why we were never able to win "hearts and minds" there: he made no attempt to learn the culture, language, or anything that could have been useful when involved in a foreign civil war. Know thine enemy, etc. The locals hated them, and why not? They were often fired upon and killed for no reason. Downs was not a warrior at this point in his life, though he may think he was. He was a barbarian.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, Dangerous. Poor design = Failure, September 4, 2013
This review is from: Torrent Flashlight
I have used Princeton Tec lights since they were Princeton Tectonics. Nearly all have had problems. Yes, customer service will replace your defective light. No, the one they send will not always work. This light seems great at first. It's bright, with a well-focused beam. It feels solid. However, things go downhill from there.

Problem 1: it eats batteries, something an LED should not do. Uses 8 cells, and this is excessive. Better Cree emitters out there that consume less power and generate less heat.
Second problem: "Lockable" on/off switch has a habit of unlocking and turning itself on in a dive bag, BC, a pocket, or in a car box. Unacceptable. This flimsy switch is the worst I have seen on any Princeton light, and there's nothing worse than reaching for a light and having it be dead. A gloved hand will be unable to lock the switch, not that it matters much.
Problem 3: Unreliable lighting. This is the worst, and potentially most dangerous. On three (3) dives, the original (2x) and its replacement (1X) failed, compromising dive and forcing me to rely on backup. No explanation from the company as to why this would occur, and the 3rd one I just received back from them will be sold, in the package, on Ebay.

I am am professional user. Need lights to work. Princeton quality has never been great, but it seems to be getting worse. Their lights are economical, but who cares when they don't work. Staying with UK for my "has to work" lighting.
