4.0 out of 5 stars Decent webcam, January 17, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Well made with a good picture.

The cable is shorter than listed by 2" (no, I will not return it).

Some of the features I liked were removed when I updated the software from Logitech.
The update was needed as my system does not play well with webcams (any webcam not just Logitech).
Given less features and system faults, I finally switched to MS Windows default driver (error free, no special features).

It was inconvenient to install, but I am satisfied with the outcome.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Story - Graphic Violence, September 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I found this story to be immersive and entertaining.
I am NOT fond of violence/blood and this occasionally pushed the edge of my tolerance.
... Opinion: Daybreak is comparable to the Bourne movies in violence/blood.
The acting was top notch, the writing superb, and the series was satisfying all the way to the end.

1.0 out of 5 stars LOCKED OUT, May 23, 2012
The game was interesting, though less than I had hoped (I loved 1404). Sadly, my opinion no longer matters. As of February server changes I am LOCKED OUT of this title (it is now May). Weeks of support from Ubisoft/BlueByte (which eventually led to uninstall/reinstall ad infinitum) failed to make this previously functioning title functional. I am done ... no longer will I willing spend money on Ubisoft/BlueByte and DRM induced frustration. Keep my money ... it is the last you will ever see.

2.0 out of 5 stars 1/5 .. 5/5 .. 25/5 .. do the math, March 11, 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mass Effect 3 (Video Game)
Okay I have 5 stars to work with ...
... 1) Story
... 2) Acting
... 3) Production
... 4) Multimedia (graphics,sound)
... 5) Gameplay

1) Story (1 star)
... too many endings lowered impact/quality (expected)
... starts slow, picks up, depresses me, falls flat, no multiple endings as promised

2) Acting (4 stars)
... I liked the performances of main cast
... some supporting roles sounded rushed / nonprofessional
... in a "choose your own path" game I expect flatter performances
... still, I was hoping BioWare had learned some new tricks after their work on SW:TOR

3) Production (1 star)
... where do I begin?
... bad editing
... ... story pacing
... ... audio pacing
... ... jump edits
... schizophrenic eyelines
... poor lipsync
... fake difficulty (Kai Leng)
... ... this ripped me whole from story telling immersion

4) Multimedia (graphics/sound) (3 stars)
... sound/score was beautiful
... visuals on the other hand
... ... dreadful
... ... I think they actually took several steps backwards from ME2

5) Gameplay (2 stars)
... uh, I liked the old minigames (I don't rate down for this)
... one button does all in combat made some levels a nightmare
... ... GOAL: escape level
... ... ACTUAL: duck into cover over and over and over
... ... RESULT: needless reloads due to death
... endless sections with no save option
... ... followed by even more nightmarish sections where you could save unrestricted ???
... ... I don't understand this, but it left me just wanting those sections to end already!
... constant collision detection errors
... ... may be system specific: I got stuck every time I spoke to EDI on the bridge unless I stood in one specific spot
... ... spent more than one level stuck to a squadmate as they ran to a new location (controls reported "BLOCKED")
... squadmate proximity mine
... ... still drops where player is standing instead of where squadmate is standing (I don't rate down for this)
... multiplayer addition (pointless - this was a singleplayer game series)
... character import flawed (graphics/data)

Enough ... let's do the math (1+4+1+3+2=11/25 == 2.2 stars)

Personal note:
... I avoided blood by playing in grayscale (what? the endings were color coded?)
... I avoided gore by avoiding certain weapons/classes
... I avoided nudity (mostly) by saying no to relationship offers
... This title had less cursing than ME2 (in my playthrough)

RE: SimCity Societies

Greetings 8)

Excellent program you've made here, Tilted Mill.
SimCity Societies is FUN 8)
I can play for just a few minutes, or I can play for hours.
Either way, the time spent is fun, lively, and refreshing.
I am reminded of going from Railroad Tycoon 3 to Sid Meier's Railroads ...
... a bit of a shock to the system but well worth the change.
SimCity 4/Rush Hour was starting to feel like work and not play.
Thank you, for putting PLAY back into the game 8)

1.0 out of 5 stars EA/SPORE not recommended, October 21, 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
I have had SPORE nearly one month. I have now manually removed SecuROM, EADM, and SPORE.
SecuROM (on my system prior to install) turns out to be my nightmare causer for the last 259+ days. It was preventing my system backup from working. It repeatedly tried to 'kill' my Sysinternal programs. It interfered with my antivirus. Despite EA assurance that it would not 'phone home' each and every time ... it did. It also repeatedly locked me out of SPORE, and it reinstalls itself every time you run SPORE.
Beyond that, EADM continually opened a nonsecure NULL session leaving my computer to remove all viruses it then let in (this came to around 20 viruses/sniffers/loggers per 2 hour playtime).
After the 2nd game patch (each one less functional than the first) and numerous loss of hours of gameplay progress/content due to no autosave feature ingame and no prepatching data protection, I have removed them all from my computer.
My final laugh came after uninstalling SPORE (along with user content). After uninstal there still remained 2.8 gig of data in the various (5) SPORE directories. Oddly, this was not user content but (?) temp or misnamed files. One directory was heavily populated with exception reports ... I had never seen so many before.
When the game worked, its play was dull and repetitive. The various creators were enjoyable but could not compensate for poor gameplay and incessant CTDs (crash to desktop).
I cannot recommend this title and I feel EA/Maxis have lied to consumers repeatedly.
I am concerned over where EA Corporate is taking the modern PC gaming industry. It feels very much like ... Fascism.
