5.0 out of 5 stars The Living Dead can be "Funny", October 20, 2002
This movie is a continuation of the 1968 Night of the Living Dead many years later. It tells of what happens when the storage units that contains the "Living Dead" are accidentally broke open. It start at a medical supply house where one of the cadavers use at medical schools is revived, cut into pieces and burned in a crematorium. As the dead is burned, it starts to rain and as the smoke is showered with rain and seeps in a nearby cemetery. Now the party begins!
The move has less gore than the original and is full of humor but this does not imply that the "Living Dead" are any less creepy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Monsters Everywhere, October 20, 2002
This review is from: Mad Monster Party (DVD)
Here is a cute little animation movie from the late 60's. Think of a classic "monster" and it may be coming to the "Mad Monster Party." Basically, the movie is about Dr. Frankenstein (Boris Karloff) retiring from the monster making business and he is out to name his successor.
We have the puppets of the Frankenstein Monster, Dracula, the Mummy, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the Werewolf, the Invisible Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and more...
Good movie for all ages!

4.0 out of 5 stars Whodunit, September 26, 2002
This review is from: The Death Kiss (DVD)
The Death Kiss is another whodunit where a big time movie star is killed right in front of the cameras. Bela Lugosi is one of the prime suspects in this well-done mystery thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outer Limits Time Travel Stories, September 3, 2002

2) Tribunal - season 5 - At the Birkenau concentration camp Leon Zgierski watches Karl Rademacher shoot his wife and send his daughter to the gas chamber. A time traveler who grabs Radermacher's jacket sees the event.
3) Gettysburg - season 6 - Andy and Vince spend their weekends reacting battles from the Civil War. When their picture is taken with an old camera they find themselves on the eve of an 1863 battle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Good - Who Done It?, September 2, 2002
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Another who done-it with a hotel bellhop Freddie (Lou Costello) and house detective Casey (Bud Abbott) become mixed up in a murder at the "Lost Cavern" hotel. A famous lawyer gets kills and the evidence points to Freddie and as Casey tries to help, Freddie gets into worse trouble. The Swami (Karloff) tries to hypnotize Freddie into killing himself but with his subnormal mentality Freddie can't be hypnotize - at one point Freddie is ask how he want to die and he responds "old age." Finally Freddie is lured to the Lost Caverns and finally chases the real killer back to the hotel.
The movie has lots of laughs with dead bodies turning up and moving around on Freddie. Seeing Lou dress up, as a hotel maid is a sight one must see. Karloff's main scene is when he tries to hypnotize Freddie - his part is not large but effective.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Jekyll - We must Hyde, September 1, 2002
Tubby (Lou) and Slim (Bud) are two police officers in London studying the English police methods. After getting kick off the force, they determine that if they can catch the monster that has been killing prominent doctors they will be able to get their jobs back. Dr. Jekyll (Karloff) is experimenting with the idea of separating "good from evil" and in his lab is transforming character traits between various animals (e.g. Tubby has a bunny rabbit snap at him). Dr. Jekyll's ward Vicky falls for a newspaperman Bruce - Jekyll has loved Vicky for years and he decides to become Mr. Hyde to get rid of Bruce. While hunting for the monster in Dr. Jekyll's home, Tubby falls on a hypodermic needle, becomes a monster, and the chase begins.
This is an excellent movie for Karloff and Abbott & Costello fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gruesome with a Twist, September 1, 2002
This review is from: The Last House on the Left (DVD)
The story is about a couple of girls Lucy Grantheim and Sandra Cassel on their way to a concert but stop to buy some drugs. The drug dealers are sex murders and they beat and rape one of the girls and then set out for Canada. On the way, the car breaks down and with a weird twist they wind up at one of the girls parents house - the "revenge" begins.
The movie is extremely gruesome.
One of the makers of the movies is Cunningham, who went on to make Friday the 13th.

4.0 out of 5 stars Small Spaces, August 24, 2002
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Attic is a movie that I have had on video for years and enjoy watching it every once in a while. Even thought the movie does not have a lot of visual shock, there are a few tense moments. Basically, Carrie Snodgrass is a spinster librarian dominated by her sadistic father, Ray Milland. The movie is well worth the last 10 minutes or so and if you enjoy suspenseful twisted end to a movie, then this one is for you.
Crawlspace is where Klaus Kinski is the son of a Nazi war criminal and like his father has the desire to kill. Basically, he rents rooms to women and spies on them from the ventilator shaft (i.e., crawlspace). There is not a lot of blood and gore compared to other movies of the 80's. The movie should be watched just to see what is kept in the lab.
