Brad Bird's delightful directorial debut is a heartwarming tale of a boy and a gentle giant robot that fell from the sky. The characters feel like real people. The script is hilarious and it has a great message about choice vs destiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Return to Form for Pixar!, July 10, 2013
After the mediocre Cars 2 and good but underwhelming Brave, I was really worried when I heard that Pixar was going to make yet another sequel/prequel. And a prequel to Monsters Inc of all things. And then the trailers started coming out and they looked awful. But then I started hearing good things about it, so I went in very cautiously optimistic.
And I loved it!! It's the story of how Mike and Sully became friends and how they became a scare team at Monsters Inc. And it does so in a way that that is very funny and heartfelt. It's one of Pixars funniest movies yet. And it's message is very refreshing in a time where we're told just believe in yourself and you can do anything.
I don't think it's as good as films like Up, Ratatouille or Monsters Inc. But It's also better than Cars, Cars 2, Brave and A Bugs Life.

Pixar's done it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece!, June 18, 2013
This review is from: Ratatouille (DVD)
Ratatouille is in my opinion Pixar's 2nd best film after Up. And that's saying something because after all most of Pixar's films are masterpieces! Pixar's movies are so much more than just children's films. A lot of young children might actually find themselves bored by this movie. But it's such a beautiful movie with a lot of great messages about life.

A Must-See!

1.0 out of 5 stars An Utter Travesty, May 14, 2013
One of the worst animated movies I've ever seen! I'm usually very forgiving when it comes to movies. But this series is so awful it doesn't deserve even 2 stars. This movie has the worst dialogue of any movie I've ever seen. Just being in the same room where it's playing makes you feel dumber.

Every time I watch the movie I'm reminded how much I need to buy this soundtrack. It's so epic and matches the tone of the film so well.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Worthy Prequel to the LOTR Trilogy, March 21, 2013
A really fun action packed adventure film with amazing acting and a great story.
Don't mind the bad reviews. People went in expecting another Lord of the Rings and were disappointed when it wasn't as amazing as the LOTR were. But the thing is, The Hobbit is a much more lighthearted adventure tale geared toward children. It's supposed to feel a little different from LOTR.

There is so much to love about this movie. The acting is amazing, as is the score and the action scenes(for the most part) are really well done. And it's very funny. There are a few things I didn't really like. I think there is a bit to much goofy humor in some scenes.

But all in all a really satisfying adventure flick.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Soundtrack, January 6, 2013
Harry Gregson-Williams is easily one of the best film composers working today. And this is one of my favorite soundtracks(right behind the LOTR's). The sounds and melodies are all filled with a sense of childlike wonder that perfectly fits the story. And "The Battle" is in my opinion the the most epic musical piece you will ever come across.

I've been a huge Henty fan for years and this book while not a historically based as most of his other books is very enjoyable well researched story of the early days of the wild west.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Movie: Awsome Special Features, May 21, 2012
The LOTR are awesome period. The Extended Editions are even better. But what I really loved about this edition was the several hours-upon-hours of very in-depth special features. Just about everything you could ever want to know about these amazing films is on these discs.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the First Three!, March 14, 2012
This was by far the best of the first three Mission Impossible films.
I'm not totally sure why people got all excited over the first one. I mean it was decent and had a few good scenes, but overall it was rather slow, and boring with an underwhelming climax. The second one was just plain terrible, corny, cheesy, dumb and overdone ridiculousness.
But this one is much sharper and exciting then the others. When watching the various operations done by the force I kept thinking this is what Mission Impossible is all about. I also thought Phillip Seymour Hoffman was awesome as an absolutely soulless villian. Tom Cruise's performance is great. And in this one the scale is actually smaller then the previous 2 giving it more heart and emotion.
There is really nothing I dislike about this movie, definitely a must see for secret agent\action film fans!
