Novo Clavis Esoterika
Novo Clavis Esoterika

5.0 out of 5 stars Masonic Masterpiece, June 29, 2011
This gorgeous, hand-bound in leather, book is a collection of some of Wor.: Bro.: Hogan's most important works in esoteric Masonry and its underpinnings: Alchemy, Kabbalah, Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism, Gnosticism and Martinism. In general, it is my considered opinion that Wor.: Bro.: Hogan has produced the most important scholarly and practice-based articles, monographs and books on esoteric Masonry since Wilmshurst, perhaps even since Pike. This book, "Novo Clavis Esoterika", need be supplemented only by "Revelation of the Holy Grail", which Hogan published under his nom de l'ordre, Chevalier Emerys. In addition to his numerous and distinguished positions in Freemasonic Orders, Wor.: Bro.: Hogan is Grand Master of the Templar lineage "Ordre Souvereign du Temple Initiatique", which claims unbroken descent from DeMolay, the so-called "last Grand Master". Hogan's works are pithy, well thought out and structured, and written in accessible language, though, as he says, if you are not a Master Mason, you are not likely to comprehend much beyond the surface. "Novo Clavis Esoterika" is definitely a candidate for the one book I would want to have with me if I were stranded on a desert island!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Price, May 3, 2010

The ring arrived incredibly fast and looked much better on my finger than online. I had underestimated my size, so I ended up wearing it on my right pinky finger instead of my ring finger, but it looks great with a silver ring I wear next to it. For twenty bucks, it's a no-brainer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love INVITED In, May 3, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book by Tana Pesso, with the collaboration of H.H. Penor Rinpoche, the late head of the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism, is a very well organized and written collection of teachings and exercises that are life transforming if practiced. The book represents a secular presentation of basic Buddhist life-lessons which the author, a long-time student and practitioner within the Palyul lineage of Nyingma Buddhism, has incorporated into her life and helps you to incorporate into yours. Because the author is a friend, I must admit to a positive bias, but my wife has given copies to people we know and they have all given rave reviews. If you want a practical book that will help you actually to develop love and compassion, buy "First Invite Love In".

5.0 out of 5 stars Solve et Coagula, March 19, 2010
I just finished this book and found it very exciting. Especially with Freemasonry on the wane, it is gratifying to read an essay so thoroughly esoteric. I say this because I believe that young, intelligent men seeking Light in Masonry will be interested in our ancient, esoteric roots in alchemy, Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism and Templar mysteries. Without taking on the vexed question of whether there is "historical" proof for such connections, I feel that Wor.: Bro.: Hogan has demonstrated the symbolic connections cogently. I will read this book again and again, along with Wor.: Bro.: Hogan's other books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lack of Facts, December 14, 2009
I have not yet finished this book, so perhaps I should not write a review, but I have read more than 100 pages and have yet to see the authors adduce a single fact to support their fairly wild speculations. The book is a good read, i.e. enjoyable, but it is apparently entirely speculative. Most reputable Masonic scholars, let alone most Master Masons, will be surprised to know that it is POSSIBLE that extraterrestrial proto-Masons established the Craft on Earth, most LIKELY in Atlantis and Lemuria. The data that the authors purport MIGHT indicate pre-Dynastic Egyptian, Ancient Greek, &tc. Lodges of proto-Masons, could be interpreted in any number of ways. Although I am an esoteric Mason, I would appreciate inspiring stories being grounded in provable fact.

5.0 out of 5 stars Master of Masters, May 11, 2009
Like the legendary Hermes Trismegistus, the late H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche, Jikdral Yeshe Dorje, "Fearless Indestructible Wisdom", was a master of masters, as well as of thousands upon thousands of practitioners, scholars, yogins and ordinary people. The depth of his realization, the power of his transmission, the clarity of his teachings were all unparallelled. During his long life, he composed or compiled twenty-five large volumes of treasure writings, in prose and poetry of unequalled beauty and profundity. He was the guru of most of the Nyingma and many of the Kagyu lamas currently teaching. His legacy unites Asia and the West. For anyone fortunate enough to have had him as his or her "root lama", this book will reignite fierce devotion and gratitude. It is extremely well written, in both prose and poetry. One chapter in particular contains one of Dudjom Rinpoche's poems that delineates the whole path of Dzogchen, or Great Completion. This is the one book I would take with me to a desert island. OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM.

This review is from: Unit Structures (Audio CD)
This record is one of the seminal recordings in Jazz and perhaps one of the most interesting developments in music as a whole. Cecil Taylor, along with Ornette Coleman, is considered the father of Free or Avant-garde Jazz. Together with "Conquistador" this album demonstrated what that Jazz was to be. Taylor reaches musical spaces previously explored only by Messiaen. He is to the piano what Ornette and Albert Ayler and Charlie Parker were to their instruments. An evolutionary step for music & for mankind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mastery of Freemasonry, April 4, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Tibetans believe that certain books carry the blessings of the masters that produced them. On this model, it might be said that this book carries the blessings of two Master Masons, Bro.: Mark Stavish and Bro.: Lon Milo DuQuette. Bro.: Stavish is a well-known Hermeticist, a working alchemist, a Master Mason, 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite, Knight Templar in the York Rite and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. His work is both scholarly and practical, and carries a confidence that is yet merged with humility and a sense of wonder, depth and awe. Unlike the vast majority of contemporary Freemasons, he is aware of the esoteric sources of Masonic symbols and allegory, and presents them in a way that is cogent and to the point. He does not make extravagant claims, nor does he limit himself to "facts" that can be "proven" according to the overly conservative view of contemporary Freemasonry. His feet are solidly planted on the earth, but his head and heart soar. This book is to be most highly recommended to any, Mason or non-Mason, who would plumb the depth of the philosophical, mystical and magickal underpinnings of the Craft.
