5.0 out of 5 stars Fifth Avenue: A Thriller - book REVIEW by Nolan, November 14, 2010
This review is from: Fifth Avenue (Paperback)
Excellent story! Explosive from the beginning, this story ingeniously portrays a lustful greed for power, control, money, and dominance - but, who really wins in the end, and at what cost?
* The insane billionaire out for revenge of his wife's thirty-one-year- old murder?
* The rich tycoon and his dysfunctional family that's targeted for death from this lunatic's vengeance?
* Another power player who sneaks in to grab everything for himself?
* The wealthy, beautiful people that work for the prestigious conglomerates?
* Or, the mafia family and paid assassins who are intricately involved in this story, too?
This novel contains an intriguing plot that keeps the reader guessing at what will happen next. As the story moves you forward at a breathtaking, steady pace without slowing down or slacking off - not even during the tense, dramatic and explicit scenes of domestic violence, abuse, homosexuality, and heterosexuality - it brings the very realistically described characters to life in a way that gets you involved and makes you care what happens to them. You also get a very real sense of what New York looks like through the author's description. And, the ending is certainly not disappointing.
I enjoyed this story immensely, would definitely recommend it, and would classify it as a MUST READ - especially if you love mysteries, romance, action, and serious drama. With its crime-outside-every-window depiction, it certainly re-affirms my belief that I'll never want to visit New York, much less live there.

Be warned, however, that the novel needed to have a better proofreader, as there are a dozen or so typos and word flubs that could throw you off momentarily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids and adults alike, February 14, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the type of movie (like the prior 2) that the entire family enjoys -- clean, entertaining fun. It's laugh-out-loud funny and the characters are heart-warming. I think the third movie is the funniest yet -- especially with the little squirrel and his acorn that almost always 'steals the show'. And you have to really feel for poor Manny, who is becoming a new daddy -- poor sap just doesn't know what to do with himself, so he goes overboard (in a hilarious way) trying to prepare for his first baby. Lots of fun!!

5.0 out of 5 stars MUCH Better than the original cartoon series, February 14, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This movie, like the first, is well worth watching over and over again. They are BOTH a hundred times greater than the original cartoon series ever was (which was entertaining and fun while it lasted) because they look so lifelike. This movie, though, will blow you away with its continuous action scenes, fantastic computer enhanced graphics, and great story line! Those guys (writers and artists alike) do an awesome job on this one. The Transformer characters in this movie look like they actually DO transform from autos to robots and vise-versa. These are the types of characters that are fun to watch on the screen but you wouldn't really want to see them up close and personal.

I LOVED the show but the ending really sucked! I hope the writers and creators make up for the disasterous ending with a nice surprise in the next movie, which I can't wait to see!! This movie, together with all the prior Harry Potter movies are fun, entertaining, and well worthy of being watched over and over again. I know I will.
