5.0 out of 5 stars Please publish as a Book not a Kindle, October 30, 2014
I would order this in an instant if it was a book and not a Kindle.

Some of us still prefer paper books. Some of us older folks have trouble reading on a Kindle device and don't like reading on a computer which has more contrast.

My understanding is that it is not that hard to print paperback in limited quantities. Please print this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars All action, no drama. The Worst Star Trek movie ever., September 24, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Yes, this really is the worst Star Trek movie of all time. It felt like a Star Wars or a comic book superhero movie. It did not feel like Star Trek, either Classic, Next Gen, movies, or anything.
Yeah, it made money but it's not Star Trek.

There are plot holes large enough to drive a truck through. It is all slam bang action. No time is taken to develop any drama. Some references to the alternate timeline work, others including a meant-to-be-touching scene are lame recycling of earlier movies. One could see the ending trick coming 20 minutes in advance which destroyed all drama and suspense.

I liked the first JJ Abrams movie and went along with the juvenile, messed-up Kirk and the alternate timeline. They could have grown the juvenile Kirk into his real character. It is simply unbelievable that this character would be in command of a starship. And, the crying? Come on!

The movie is utterly lacking in originality. The actors are fine (except for the Scotty character). Let's have a re-boot with another director and writers who can write in the next movie. Maybe even do what classic Star Trek did: get a real science-fiction writer involved rather than Hollywood writers. With their major production budget, they should be able to do something new.

I've re-watched every Star Trek movie, even ST:TMP and Insurrection. This one is going on the shelf. If you are buying because you simply have to, wait for the price to drop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mechanism broke in 3 months, September 11, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The mechanism (slide) that holds and ejects the blade broke after 3 months! My 10+ year old razor (the one that comes with blades) is still going strong. Why does a $25 razor break after 3 months?
Also, the handle is smooth and slippery when wet. It forced me to change my shaving style to use it. It' pretty but it's broken and useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusts quickly!, September 27, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The bail (the clip where you attach a lanyard) rusted through within 3 weeks and I almost lost the knife. When I complained, the seller told me contact the manufacturer. Yeah, for a $25 knife?

I kept it. Then, the internal mechanism and blade started rusting after one year. Now, it is fixed blade knife.

As long as you keep it away from salt air and salt water you may be OK... But, isn't this supposed to be Sailor's knife?

5.0 out of 5 stars Here's the link for Running Blind, May 17, 2007
My thanks to the other posters for the "Truth in Advertising" warnings that "The Visitor" is really a re-titled "Running Blind". The Jack Reacher series for me is a "buy on sight" type of thing and I might have been misled if it was not for the other reviewers.

That being said don't be put off from the original novel by the Publisher's shady marketing. Running Blind is one of the best Jack Reacher novels:
