I hated Terry Gilliam's other works so it doesn't surprised me that I don't like this movie, either. It's cartoony, chaotic, stupid story. What a waste of Christoph Waltz's talent. I just hate.

Slow, maudlin, predictable, may be typical of Mike Nichols' work but a disappointment for Harrison Ford's. His performance was worse than his usual but I guess it's the director and editor who guide the final product. Well,if you want to see how a disabled guy realizes his job as a liability lawyer is bad, then 'gets' his evil colleagues who have been soooooooo nice to him, this is the movie for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Intellectually interesting, but not entertaining, May 11, 2016

Those who have an intellectual interest in Turing tests and how they should be rigorously applied might find this movie interesting. From a purely entertainment point of view, this movie was BOOOOOOOORRRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! Boring! Maybe a little interesting to look at -- the girl playing AVA was good-looking. The minimal special effects were OK. The ending made a valid statement about artificial intelligence, if you persevere long enough to see it. I read the Wikipedia article about this movie which was less boring and took less time than the movie itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love so many aspects, especially the soft silicone, May 5, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Silicone is great stuff. It can withstand heat up to 400F, the honeycomb pattern makes it even more heat resistant as a potholder or trivet. It is non-porous so can be cleaned better than, say, wood or cloth. You can wash it in the dishwasher. And it's soft so will fold around handles and plates. The potholders are not bulky. I have dipped my padded cloth potholders into the food when trying to get a good grip on the edge of the container. Oh and it's non-flammable. How many times have we ignited cloth BBQ mitts? Wish Amazon Vine would offer a silicon glove for review.

The spoon rest is LARGE. I have been using a plate but metal spoons often skitter off. The soft silicon lowers the risk of sauce on the counter top.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great features, wonderful value, but style is too 'specialized', May 5, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
If I were reviewing this lamp on features alone, I'd give it 10 stars. It can be varied in so many ways. I'll have to write a short tutorial and post is next to the lamp so guests will know how to work it. Other reviewers have been thorough in listing its features. I love the features, especially being able to use the 'color tunnel' as a night light or turn it off while still using the big light on the long neck, and its dim-able, full spectrum light on the long neck. The USB port makes it really modern.

The only reason I didn't give it all stars is the style. It looks anachronistic, like it's left over from the hippie era. I know it's part of Ott's brand to be very modern, but a plainer or more traditional style would let it fit better into the English garden style of my guest room.

4.0 out of 5 stars This show has evolved from reporting to highlighting risk factors, May 4, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It is interesting to follow the evolution of forensic investigations from before DNA testing up to the recent 10 years. Technology has helped to solve crimes. Maybe such shows are a deterrent for criminals who watch them, or make smarter criminals. The newer episodes of this program occasionally point out the risky behaviors of victims. It can help viewers avoid becoming victims.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot about DNA testing, less about other methods, May 4, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I think DNA testing really became good enough, using tiny samples, and cheap enough in the early 1990s. These episodes seem to focus on DNA testing a lot. The earlier episodes were more varied.

I've been watching this program on TV and thought I had seen all episodes, but the Amazon Prime version had episodes that I have not seen. They're all without ads which is a real pleasure.

2.0 out of 5 stars Was not deep cleaning., April 30, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Deep Cleaning or Spring Cleaning
This service by AZ Best Clean should not be sold as "Deep or Spring Cleaning." It was, at best, a cursory cleaning. Many surfaces were not even dusted. Shelves with little items on them were completely neglected.

The window cleaning consisted of wiping with a microfiber cloth, not sprayed with a glass cleaner then squee-geed. The window corners were not cleaned. They neglected several windows.

In the kitchen, the microwave and toaster ovens were not wiped. The cabinet fronts were not wiped.

None of the wall sculpture and pictures were dusted, the glass was not cleaned. The silk plants were not dusted. The panel doors were not wiped. The vacuuming was really terrible. I can see where the vacuum's bristles stopped, an inch or so from the wall, and debris pushed against the wall and corners. None of the ceiling fans were dusted. Oh, she vacuumed first, THEN dusted so the dust that was pushed onto the floor stayed there.

One of the workers was very willing, She said she mopped the kitchen floor 3 times to get it clean (it wasn't that dirty), but did nothing about the dirt trapped in the grout lines. The other worker (who was supposed to dust and wipe surfaces) clearly was not trying.

$118 for 4 person-hours isn't that expensive so I am not furious, but for the same money, or less money, many people do a better job. My regular cleaner did more than these two people did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good for an inexpensive, all synthetic fiber garment, April 26, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have been a natural fiber snob for many years and for good reasons. Many synthetic fibers, even when woven, are shiny, stiff, rough... and non-absorbent so are hot and if worn next to the skin and one sweats, one quickly begins to stink. But these pants are all synthetic yet they feel very nice. They look like cotton but is somewhat thicker and stretchy. I haven't sweated in them so don't know whether they will cause me to stink.

I was dubious of the Dickies brand because I only know them as makers of hospital scrubs -- the utilitarian, ill-fitting but inexpensive clothes that doctors and nurses wear when on duty. But the picture looked good and the price is low!

They fit me well. The waistband is indeed wide extending from my waist to the belly button. It lies flat, the seam does not create a bump. The legs are not too tight, not too loose. They seem to be straight from the knees down so even though I have to shorten them a lot, they still look good.

What I like best is the almost invisible zipper pocked on the rear right, at the seam for the waistband. The pocket extends down about 4 inches so is big enough for large phones. I wish it had 2 pockets but there is only one.

The only criticism is there are two small labels that scratch, sewn onto the inside of the waistband. They are easily removed. They are loops so I suppose you could use them to hang the pants. I hope these pants machine wash well, meaning keep their color and shape. Many all-synthetic fabrics pill and become static-y after only a few washings.
